IMO, people who still complained that the rewards ain't big enough can piss off.

At this point I'm sure they are people who just hate genshin and could never be happy with it or let others be happy. What ever genshin does just can never be enough unless it bends over backwards and just throws everything at them.
Idk why some people think a game is good based on how much rewards they give to the players, disregarding every other aspects
@elfawne I know...like genshin puts all the love and care in so many other places like the lore, story, world building etc. Like just he visuals of teyvat alone are amazing.
Like...and here's the thing.
The content...is easy and I mean that in the vase that....genshin doesn't force to need the best. You need the best for the final floor of abyss floor 12 but that's it. Everything else doesn't require you to invest and do so much.
There is literally zero incentive from a gameplay stand point for people to pull characters outside of wanting to clear abyss.
Outside of that. Literally everyone pulls character because they like the story around them or the design or how they feel to play. They may not do big dmg but they are fun to play and fun to interact with the world then no one really cares.
In other words....genshin can make such high revenue sales off people actually enjoying the characters because it's easy and it feels like any character you like can reach a powerful state.
Compared to other games where you need to be more cautious or be wary of power creep or different end game modes.
Like star rail...do you go for erudition units for pure fiction or focus on hunt and destruction for finality and moc.
I do think people are greatly overrating the rewards.
- Weapon banner fate point is not really 50/50 since fate points don't carry over and it's still like a 33/33/33. Wuwa doesn't even have 50/50, you just get the weapon.
- artifact selection resource is super limited and I think I heard it's only one artifact per artifact set per update. I forget but I also think you need multiple elixirs each time. It's not out yet so maybe it's subject to change.
- The 5 star selecter is only standard banner and even if they say yearly, it is unknown how many years left. There is only one region left after Natlan. They probably would have more updates for abyss or celestial but who knows. If they do add interesting characters into standard that would be crazy.
It's good if you compare where we were but it's not as insane as people are making it out to be. I only play Wuwa and Genshin so maybe the rewards are good and I just haven't played enough gacha games.

To be fairly honest, I always thought that Hoyoverse "listened", but took it slow. For example, the past year we got a tremendous improvement for the Sereniteapot, and I guess it's because CCs didn't mediatize it too much that we didn't hear more about it. But truly, the teapot now had NOTHING to do with pre-4.0. navigating through the menus and crafting has become much more smoother. They also added, throughout the year, smaller but very practical QoL, such as the basic iron ore in the explorations task at the Adventurer's guild. They added the "claim all" button for a few menus, like the blacksmith and Exploration tab as well. These can be details, but together, they make the navigation and game experience better overall.
Though, I have to admit, definitely ever since patch 4.5/6, they kicked one gear up. The IT definitely has been cooked ever since 4.4 (the core gameplay is from the Triumphant Frenzy event from Lantern Rite), as well as other features. I strongly believe these were in the works since the earlier part of the year (post 4.4 I'd say), and they added them through the last batch of Fontaine patches to prepare for the big one with 5.0. I don't believe too much it's "thanks to WuWa" because let's be real: objectively some features (such as IT) were definitely in their books before the game was even released, and the influence is more about rewards (but tbh we will never know if it's true or not) than gameplay. I think the biggest cause is the uproar from Lantern Rite (and not just "3 pulls for anniversary" gosh this one annoyed me so much), and possibly some internal issues (rumors about Genshin's producer being replaced and stuff. But then again; they're RUMORS, we must take this with a grain of salt).
But like Bran said: whatever happened in the past, the important is the present, and clearly the game has still a fairly number of years before it ends. Who knows, maybe the whole 7 nation odyssey might just be the 1st part of the journey, and we might explore Teyvat's hidden face.

Well it's not like everyone only found out about wuwa the day it was released, there were beta tests and stuff before that (game was announced in 2022), so mihoyo knew the game was coming out soon
Wuwa wasn't the determining factor, but it's one of the factors that influenced mihoyo
@@terust1612 People are giving WuWa way too much credit. And hey, you're right. They ARE competition, but I believe the competition that Genshin is REALLY up against is internal. Anyone who has worked for any major corporation knows that different departments are always trying to be the best and if the other teams suck? all the better for you cause the praise and raises and promotions are limited and the better you look, the better your odds of scoring something better for you and your employees (If you're middle management).
So chances are it's more Star Rail doing than WuWa. It's no secret that the majority of Genshin players envy the way Star Rail gives away stuff and their QoL improvements, A lot of these Genshin improvements are straight up Star Rail features. Features that the Star Rail team more than likely implemented to step out of the shadow of Genshin, They're the new kid in the block, they needed to make a name for themselves. And they did. And now with ZZZ becoming another player in the game of jockeying for darwining sociopath good boy headpats from the investors, it's gonna be interesting how the other two adapt.

Yeah i mean everybody knows the biggest changes we've ever got come after 4.0 and so on, everyone is complaining because 4.0 it's still too late, does anyone remember the QoLs for inazuma or sumeru? No because none of them were game changing, the layered map we got it AFTER SUMERU and it was the moment we needed it the most.
I haven't play the game for the last 3 months but I'm sure everyone who never misses on archon quest will always come back just to experience it. The story of genshin will always be the main purpose of people returning really, everything else is just a bonus.
That being said, I'm glad genshin proved many "haters" wrong about not listening (warranted due to many games pushing genshin to do this in a way to save the player base). All in all, we the customer, wins. See you in Natlan!

Its a long story.
Mihoyo's Founder Cai Haoyu was the director of HI3 back when HI3 was considered one of the stingest gatcha possible.
After GI went global, He transferred himself from HI3 director position to Gl director position and made someone else director of HI3 (Who is director of HSR right now). After which HI3 started to flourish with QOLs and rewards.
Cai Haoyu is very businessman by personality and player's feeling don't matter to him, He wants to maximize profits as much as possible.
And there are many rumours that he has left the director position from GI project since fontaine (Explaining all QOLs since fontaine) and is working on some future hoyo project and Da Wei has stepped up to become new director of Gl.
So the problem is not that Genshin Devs didn't wanted to do anything, They are players themselves, They can relate to us but because leading them was Cai Haoyu, They couldn't do anything (He has more than 42% share in mihoyo).
Now with Da Wei on top, I am 100% sure we will se things community never imagined.

Friendly reminder that Cai Haoyu was the producer of GGZ, HI3 and Genshin only until the respective game launched. Cai was the producer of HI3 from 2014 to 2017, and HI3 CN launched in 2016, other servers launched in 2017 onwards.

If you're a "returning player", do not come back by logging in until 5.0 patch hits. The Stellar Reunion will be buffed as well at 5.0 with 10 free pulls on top of whatever they're giving now.
I’m torn between this and coming back to grab some of the Simulanka rewards, I haven’t touched the area at all because I’ve been gone for a few months but I’m also not really in the mood for all the exploration 😅
45 day timer, meaning you need to have been gone for at least 45 days to get the additional 10-pull starting in 5.0.
Just being a "returning player" isn't enough because that triggers after just 14 days (provided you did not trigger the Stellar Reunion for 45 days prior).
Simulanka gives way more than waiting for 5.0

The 5.0 update is what finally persuaded me to come back to genshin after leaving in 4.2. We thought genshin could never, but looks like genshin can indeed. Honestly glad they decided to make some changes. It's about time.

I'd say if you do intend to return and stick around for longer than a week or so, return now just so you don't miss out on Simulanka's resources to get you some momentum going into Natlan. It's easy to explore, lighthearted, and extremely relaxing.
The fact I tuned in before I got notified, shows how my senses tell me that Bran is on YT posting and I just HAD to watch! King doing amazing and this is actually a great recap!
I am so happy Dawei has finally been given control because he truly cares about the game and about listening to the community, which obviously shows with the amount of amazing goodies that we are being given. Here’s to a new Genshin era!

I think a lot of people downplayed the rewards they showed this time so much. They keep saying it's too little to put it on par with WuWa or HSR, and these changes should've been implemented way earlier, which I agree, but not to the degree to say that it's still a dogshit update. I think more important than anything is the fact that after 4 long years they finally showed the signs that they started listening more to the feedbacks and compared to what we usually get, these are huge changes and I think we have the right to be hopeful that their mindset has changed for good moving forward, and can expect better and better changes implemented down the line with upcoming patches, eventually putting it on the high standard that other newer games have set.
Personally, I am a kind of person that always believe that people can change, later or sooner. Even though I understand it's still very frustrating it took them that long to change, they finally did. And no matter how late it is, I always appreciate those who are determined enough to change themselves for the better, and I won't be a dick to those who can change even late.
I mean, what do You expect from "Them", You said You believe people can change, well let me tell You that "They" can't, even if Genshin change completely out of recognition, You will not see these people admit it, They will downplay it again and again😂

Also, its speculated that we get about 125 pulls as f2p in 5.0 so it's pretty great update whether you want to save for any character or collect enough to get the 5.0 character

Ngl the only thing I find myself looking forward to when genshin has an anniversary is the new pet they give. I love the octobaby they gave last year it's so cute and the dragon they showed this year looks cute too I can't wait to get it
I hope they can optimise co-op gameplay. You cant unlock statue of the sevens when in co-op.
Major thing that they didn't highlight enough in the livestream was that the sanctifying elixir you need to craft the artifacts can also be made by offering artifacts you already have while using the new gadget, i believe the visual they showed had 8 five star artifact pieces per elixir, and the different piece (Circlet, Goblet, Sands etc) require different amounts of elixir. In the example they showed on stream it took 4 elixir for the goblet.
I've been playing genshin since 1.1 and I gotta say that the livestream really made me cry for a lot of reasons. I'm glad I am able to see this game grow and see how far genshin has come

Im so freaking excited about the craft your own artifact because its saving me a lot of farming misery in Nymphs Dream for my Childe and now his set will really and truly be complete. That and making better crit circlets for my Wriothesley and Navia. But as a newly AR 60 player Im so glad the Natlan chests will have more primos because scrounging to farm them with a fully 100% map is hard

For a player who has never wished on the weapon banner ever, it's looking so good that they dropped the fate points, but what about all those players who spent so much on the weapon banner? However, I still won't wish on the weapon banner. Being F2P is tough. I will definitely pull for the Pyro Archon when she is released.
World level is increasing, does that mean our characters will be able to level up to 100?
Looks like I no longer need to look up material farming videos to level up my characters anymore!
It is always about the archon quest that i get back to genshin. I haven't been disappointed in previous regions before and i do believe that i will not be disappointed on natlan either.

im skeptical about the artifact thing, sounds good but: how long will it take to make one? says 4 elixirs for one artifact AND one per cycle for a set (in the video)? if you add to that the fact you can still roll flat on other substats, you may end up gettin a mid artifact once per month. with my luck chances are that it will roll in bad stats and it will just be a waste
I didn't even catch the part about quests giving us A3 materials when skimming the livestream! That's only one ascension away from being usable with both passives unlocked. Wonderful stuff. Maybe even wonderful enough to get me to do story quests on-release. :D

There's the Capturing Radiance too, it's no longer 50/50 but 55/45 for limited characters so increased chance to get limited 5* character! We're so winning next patch
If you're coming back and you havent logged in in a while, don't go in yet. You should come when the version update is here (It's in a week). That way, you'll be able to receive the free 10 pull in your stellar reunion event.

It would have been better if they implemented these sooner, tbh. Now, it looks like they're just doing these to curb player attrition and beat the competition.
Look, I used to love this game. I really do. But the burnout is so strong that anything they do now is just me being more critical of their choices. The only consolation they'll get is that at least they're doing it now, rather than not at all.
I won't be going back. I've touched grass for far too long. But I'll be happy if the general feedback is great. But that's another story.

Me: flashbacks to spending a WHOLE YEAR in the freaking emblem domain (before being available for the strongbox) and getting nothing but flat substats or… DEF% with triple flats or “sigh” double Crit.
I spent a year in the blizzard domain for ayaka pieces, too. Never got any good atk sands. It's just pain and suffering.
Yeah, I gave up trying to farm decent pieces for Raiden and wound up getting her C2 instead 😅 the grind is so real.
Also, GREAT pfp. Yoimiya and Hu Tao are both bestgirl.

I really like genshin, I love the story, the music, the characters' design and gameplay, it's all really good. However, I'm more of a casual player. I don't have much time to play, so building characters has always been a pain (mostly because of artifacts), so I'm glad they're changing it. I'll probably come back to the game after the update.

Yes, Genshin certainly has made the greatest changes that even surprised me! I don't complain that much but I will say I was annoyed with a few things from the game but I didn't let it bother me. However, apparently Genshin isn't done with the dramatic changes... Genshin is going to Xbox now. Sooner or later even more changes might happen before Natlan or after Natlan is coming out. I honestly believe because we all put our part in sharing what we believe can make the game better that benefits their company and others as well, we are going to get more surprises whether small or large! I'm so happy that Genshin is listening to our suggestions! It makes me very happy that they do want to improve themselves further with what they can do! Honestly, Genshin for me changed my life and many others! I'm very happy this game is not only free, but just a wonderful game as it is!

Playing for the first time since Liyue and yeah my account is in such a rough shape. I have no idea how to pick it back up since im level 52 but my characters deal negative damage. Doesnt help that the game only lets me build certain characters on certain days of the week. Im missing Star Rail already..
