Thanks for watching, liking, and subscribing! While it may not be the F1 game I've been asking for all these years, New Star GP is shaping up to potentially be something special!
I do like the New Star games. Enjoyed Retro Goal, Retro Bowl, New Star Manager. This definitely looks similar, with it's simple management aspects. Good little games that know what they want to be.
Those colourful visuals suit the Switch so well! (Think Horizon Chase Turbo) As much as Grid autosport is impressive, I find it a little dour Give me escapism over realism any day!
I knew nothing about this but it looks great. Definitely one to keep an eye out for. Very much Hot Shot Racing/ Virtua Racing aesthetic with a nice approximation of real world tracks. I spy Silverstone, Hockenheimring, Red Bull Ring and Monaco mockups. Looks like a lot of fun.
Does the switch version have the same amount of content as the other platforms? Needing a new game for my switch lite but dont wanna shortchange myself.
I do have couple of questions. Can the throttle/break be remapped to the right analog stick (similarly to what GRID, WRC, MotoGP offers)? Can the number of laps be extended or is it always 6 for GP? I appreciate the idea and love the retro graphic style. However I'm a sim-cade racing fan and I don't really like arcade racers (with few exceptions). I don't think I'm going to jump on it for the current price tag but I keep it on my wishlist and probably fetch it when it comes down to 50% off. Thanks for the preview video.
the cars look like they're floating and there's several parts in your video where the cars image superimpose on top of each other without the cars crashing lol
The game's framerate is is not consistent on the Switch unfortunately. For me that's especially important in a racing game. I'm holding off for now and hoping for patches because it looks great in ever other way. 🤞
@@4IndieForever Okay so from what I was told and could see it was a little chopy on Switch when it first dropped so I grabbed it on PS5. Then last week they released a patch and I heard it was running very smoothly on the Switch and I still wanted it on the go so I picked it up for Switch as well and I can confirm its runs really well on there also. You'll get a tiny hitch every once in a while but I'm picky as hell and it's nothing in my opinion. Definitely worth picking up. Full price or not. It's easily a $30 game. It's really polished and has a lot to do to keep you busy. I've spent $60 on it now and have no regrets.
Looks like a modern take on SEGA's original arcade machine game Virtua Racing. It's also worth pointing out that the original SEGA game is already on the Switch. Shame the Switch controllers don't have analogue triggers to make the best out of this and other racing games
I did not realize they made retro bowl, good fun that! The gameplay here is the 1970s, I'm not actually sure what the engines would have been then. I know F1 previously had V8 but switched to V6 but obviously that was 2000s. I'll be curious to see if they note the V6 change in the later eras now you've pointed it out
@@SwitchCornerFrom what I know, the early 70s would be the V8 Cosworth DFV I think (came into F1 in the late 60s) but you do have Renault debuting a V6 in at Silverstone in 1977. So as far as I know, either a V6 or V8 could be historically accurate depending on the specifics. I’ve only watched a tiny bit of racing from the decade, though, so that’s just what I gleaned from reference works and I’m open to being corrected by anyone that followed the era more.
Yeah I'm at about the same level of information as you, but the game career mode is basically decades so this is the 70a, next will be 80s, I'll report back on the changes I see
Biggest drawback I heard you mention was that each race has you begin in last place. In a career mode this seems like a huge bummer. Game seems pretty nice otherwise. Thanks for the video.
Not sure if you are employed by them but Ala Mobile is a joke, plenty of videos out there demonstrating so. The 2024 version is looking somewhat better however

For all f1 fans Grid auto sport is the best graphics game for switch. I do wish there was a official f1 game for the switch though.
Upcoming Hot Lap Racing is looking good too so far.
Visually, it reminds me of Virtua Racer from the Arcades years ago.
It definitely has a SEGA look to it.
Gives a good old skool virtua racing vibe
Been playing this on steam since early access. It’s a great game. Awesome controls and so vintage for an older gamer like me 👌
I do like the New Star games. Enjoyed Retro Goal, Retro Bowl, New Star Manager. This definitely looks similar, with it's simple management aspects. Good little games that know what they want to be.
Wow I like the simple clean visuals - I’ll have to look into this one -
This actually sounds like what I need. Given the amount of content, I cannot exactly be mad at the price.
Game acquired. No regrets. This is actually the only F1 game I have obtained and played for this long before.
This looks quite fun. Simple but fun.
Looks really nice. I just hope the Switch 2 has analogue triggers.
Will this be getting a physical edition release?
It’s an F1 from me!
That actually looks really decent! A shame it doesn't have the real teams/drivers
This looks great! I'd like to see other "demakes" like this on the switch.
Those colourful visuals suit the Switch so well! (Think Horizon Chase Turbo)

Give me escapism over realism any day!
This reminds me of an arcade game from the late 80's/early 90's called Winning Run.
Im willing to give this a try, you've convinced me
Had this on my radar to keep me occupied until the Star Wars Battlefront Collection drops 😉
It sounds interesting but I'll wait for a full review
Switching between this and Berserk Boy this weekend. Can't complain!

There’s a more sim-like game called Ala mobile, probably the closest thing to F1 on the switch by far
Does the switch version have the same amount of content as the other platforms? Needing a new game for my switch lite but dont wanna shortchange myself.
Does it run at 60fps? I’ve seen mixed reports
Wow you even have an overtake button😮
You have limited boost, waiting to see how far that goes. The arcade version of DRS, it is pretty limited though
I've enjoyed the demo and bought it day, but for the life of me, I can't understand how you would leave out an online vs mode
A lot of new star games don’t have online compatibility.
Nice visual style
Why did you put the word Zwolle on the side of the car..??
Is it possible to do splitscreen with joycon Motion-Control (using the controller to steer, not the stick)? Btw very good video!
1) Tracks F1
2) Cars Indy 500
3) Graphics Virtual Racer 😅
It’s pretty damn fun with the Mario Kart wheel

Really good game. Hope they update for online races though.
Does this have tilt/motion controls, or nope?

This was the question i needed answered thx. Is it horrible or a lot of the times 60fps or not 60 at all?

Hey that's great! After reading i just bought it! :D Thank you for reacting. @@charlieg6913

Fantastic game indeed I love it ❤
Looks cool, hopefully switch two has real triggers
Looks decent. Been waiting for this one to go live on the shop so I think it’ll be a day one purchase for me

I have 2 questions: Is there a cockpit view? And is it possible to map acceleration and braking to the right analog stick?
Cockpit view - Yes 👍
nobody remembers ala mobile gp
Sounds great
I wanted to get this on switch but I heard it doesn't run too well on there. Guess I'll have to go with PS5. Would have loved to take it with me. 😮💨
New Star are the makers of retro bowl, one of my favorite team management games BUT as a racing fan, a V6 engine with 8 cylinders is a glaring mistake

You can request F1 from EA until you’re blue in the face, never going to happen, the Switch would explode

Zero suspension animations while turning and breaking. That's a deal breaker.
simple is better
We got F1 23 for free on Playstation 4, and you get this ?? 😅😅😅
browser game
is this a joke?
It’s a great game mate, more fun than anything I’ve played before
