The other thing I really wanted to see in that game was no stupid mistakes. Caleb didn’t do any! No sacs, no fumbles, no pics, and he showed he’s a smart player! As a bears fan, I’m not getting my hopes too high… BUT this team has me really excited for the season!!! 😁

One of the things to about Justin fields that was annoying is literally whenever he had to throw a screen or a short to kinda medium pass he'd throw it 5 miles away from the receiver lmao

Yeah he’s not a good starting NFL QB he is a serviceable back up. He just cannot stay in the pocket and go through his reads he is a first read QB then scramble out of the pocket and force things. You can do that in college not in the NFL unless you have an accurate cannon to boot

I believe that if they gave Justin fields all the help they’ve given Caleb he would succeed as well. Justin had no real help and every year a different offensive coordinator. I believe he is about to really shine in Pittsburgh under a better coaching staff than he had in Chicago. Plus he didn’t have this new and improved line. They literally threw him out there with no help and expected him to be a miracle worker from day one. He ran for his life the first 2 years. And I’m a die hard Bears fan. I wish him all the best.

Justin fields was a darn good team player. Several very good retired nfl players have said the poor quarterback coaching his rookie season held him back badly.
I hope he has a similar performance tomorrow but bad weather likely and muddy field.

All I know is that we've been saying this since 2000! And we've had our first franchise QB in a very very long time,, every year for the last 30 years! They all seem to wind-up in Pittsburgh,, as a back up! USC has never made a hall of Fame QB!

Around the 3:58 mark the screen play to Deandre swift can anybody tell me why he ran in towards the defenders rather then sprinting straight for the touchdown? (Serious question)
He was going to get tackled anyway. If he ran towards the end zone, he'd have been pushed out of bounds resulting in a clock stoppage.
So he made sure he went down on the field to keep the clock going. An often overlooked goal of Offense is to EAT that clock. Run it down as much as possible. It puts pressure on the opposing Offense as constantly keeping the clock running means they have less and less time to score. A pressured Offense is prone to mistakes.
