HELCOM contributions to UN voluntary commitments

Rüdiger Strempel, Executive Secretary of HELCOM, is proud to announce United Nations Voluntary Commitments of HELCOM in 2022. These commitments are created to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14.
The commitments complement and support the core HELCOM goals in many ways. While the key focus of HELCOM is on improving the state of the Baltic Sea, we don’t stop there, at the regional level. We continuously look for ways to connect with the global ocean agenda and explore additional ways to protect the marine environment.
