Thanks so much for your video. I’m a 66 year old woman trying to save money on home maintenance costs. I got the cartridge from Delta for free due to their lifetime warranty! Now, I’ve replaced the cartridge myself at no additional cost! Thank you so much!

This video was perfect! My Delta faucet would not turn off fully and was slowly breaking. I fixed it using this video and the best part(for me) is that Delta sent the replacement part free of charge. Worked perfectly.

My kitchen faucet was leaking but my husband didn't think it was as bad as I did. I watched your video and was able to fix it without a problem. No nagging and it took very little time. Thank you

Thanks!!! Putting the part #RP50587 really helped me. My faucet looks just like this one. Nearest hardware store is 90 minutes away. I called and asked if they had that part number ....nope. They had to order it. I waited for it to come in before going to town and bottom line is .... it worked! You saved me from driving an hour and a half for nothing other than ordering the part that you told me I needed (assuming we could even figure out what part to order when they didn't have it on the shelf to compare in the first place - probably a BIG assumption). I owe you a beer!!! Or a 6 pack even.... Seriously. Thanks for posting and providing the part number.

THANKS! Every faucet's different so I wasn't sure about my leaking faucet. I knew it was a Delta and the cartridge is a RP50587 so I took a look at your video to give me the confidence to jump in and fix it. Now, I'm waiting for delivery. I'm sure I'll have no problem installing it when it comes in. I have my tube of MIRACLE LUBE ready. I learned, from maintaining my pool, that silicone grease is a great product for a smooth installation operation and helpful in maintaining rubber gaskets. It's also a plus the next time I have to go in and work on parts. While it is not required, I find it makes threads and gaskets behave better. Thanks again for your video, VERY HELPFUL!

Giant Thank You! My issue was not technically dripping, rather the faucet had to be pushed almost hard right (4:30 instead of 6 o'clock) to get it to shut off. If push straight down it would drip at first, then stead flow about a year later. My original lasted only a few years. My plumber wanted $200 as a discounted price (50% off) for this repair while he was installing my water heater. I did it in 10 minutes with a $28 part.

    • @Mahaloth

This is my current situation(having to push it right(4:30) to turn off. Delta sent me this part to fix it, so I'm hopeful it will work.

This was both an entertaining and informative video. I changed the cartridge on my Delta kitchen faucet after watching it. The hardest part about the procedure was putting the handle back on properly afterwards. I found it to be quite tricky and had to try 10 times before I could get it on right.

Thanks for the help. Like to mention that my first try at replacing the cartridge resulted in an inability to turn the water off at the faucet. I discovered the problem, the very fancy washer that comes with the cartridge had become separated from it, siting in the packaging. Installing the cartridge without that is a waste of time. All is good now.

Thanks. I knew what I was getting in to from your video. I still had one of those wrenches from Delta to remove the top piece which worked well. When I tired to remove the top piece, everything came out. Maybe part of my problem was the brass piece was just loose. Anyway, Delta sent me the brass piece and the cartridge. Suggestion: get someone to do the camera work while you do the plumbing work to improve the video.

I learned so much from this but the one piece that I needed was something you had already done. You loosened the nut (brass piece) before you took the video. THAT is the problem I'm having because it is stuck and I can't tell if it is ONLY the nut I loosen or I can loosen the whole piece. IF you see this before Jun 15th. PLEASE msg me on FB if you have any ideas. Thank you for your skill and wisdom! It's a GREAT video! Shawna Helmberger Stevens

    • @johncook2763

use channel lock / groove joint pliers to loosen the brass piece. The pliers have tongue and groove adjustments that allow you to adjust the distance between the top and bottom jaw of the pliers so you can get a solid flat grip of the pliers on that wide nut of the brass piece.

Delta used to be good. Seals and springs were all the same and easy and cheap to repair. Costs like a dollar or 2 and they lasted just as long as they do now. Now you have to replace the cartridge for $30 to $50.
