Seeing their response with Speedpaint 2.0 and how quickly + well they addressed (Most) people's issues with re-activation (I still wish 1.0 medium was around for more artsy techniques like how Dana Howl used speedpaint 1.0) I have hopeful optimism at the resulting paint line

The shop I get Armypainter paints from is still fully stocked with the 1.0s, so they're the only ones I know. All I can say is, I've never been able to purposefully reactivate them. Maybe it was an issue with water quality the whole time?

Flip cap? My ProAcryl bottles all have the twist cap shown here, and that's really horrible. Every time you close it, a drop of paint escapes and will dry and clog the tip unless you're vigilant about wiping it off.

@@DocEonChannel, exactly! that's why they sell their own flip-caps. I like it's like $8 for 10 of them...? totally worth it. They should come with the flipcaps by default though, honestly. anyway, highly highly recommend flip caps for all your Pro Acryl bottles, you won't regret it.

I am loving this idea. Way back when P3 and a few other started they did this but they fell to the wayside. For people like me that hate mixing paints this is great. Having the steps takes a lot of the guesswork out for beginners and makes it easy to explain color recipies.

I've had a chance to try them hands on, just a short test but I was very impressed.
I tried yellow, white, and greys, both on a base and used them for NMM. They performed very well, on par or better than Vallejo MC or AK 3rd Gen. I think what stood out is that they all handled very similary and that the consistency was so...consistent :D.

I didn't mind the older Warpaints, except for the horrible separation issues they have. This issue wasn't exclusive to warpaints, i had to drop game color (not their extra opaque or air lines) cause I had some paints separate so bad that I'd have to open the bottle and mix with a toothpick to get some use, at least once a week.
Really love the army painter washes, and am seriously looking at using their rough iron on my marine project coming up soon.
The three bottles of fanatic paint that I got have all been really good from what I've been able to tell so far, but the main issue will be for me is if all the paints in the line have the same properties and when they come out. I won't be able to order them till the next spring due to how cold the weather is going to get here soon.
I've played around with MetalColor, GameColor, GameAir, ModelAir, ProAcryl, GW, Warpaints, Reaper, and even a few craft paints...I'm still looking for the paint that will be for my needs.

@@Leofilmpersonthe three bottles that I have been sent cover pretty good. Don't get me wrong if your thinning them you'll need a couple of thinned coats to get the best result. This included the orange that I was sent. Still experimenting on them to see how they behave on various color primers and even going to try them on some metallics to see how they cover those. The real test will be to see how the range as a whole behaves.

I got some of the old warpaints and they're okay. The white I found surprisingly good (though Pro Acryl's white is still the best). I definitely agree with you on separation though - found you have to shake the ever loving hell out of the warpaints. I put them like legit 1 full minute on a vortex mixer.
I think the best thing for AP with the fanatic range is it will really round out their offerings. I really like their Airbrush line (which I notice is made in Spain not in Denmark making me think they outsourced the line), their new speed paints are largely good (though some of them seem to have very low contrast like "poppy red"), and I also love their shades. If the updates to warpaints are really that good paints they'll be a great choice as just a go-to, all rounder brand that does most things well enough that you won't need to worry if you're picking some dud.
The best thing about AP is they're in like every damn store. Eg the store near me I'm lucky enough carries Pro Acryl but they're the only place in like 80km that does. But I see AP racks everywhere.

For me this is also great because of Army Painter's great distribution. It's the easiest paint for me to get beyond maybe Citadel. Totally agree. It sucks running out of or running low on a colour you're using for an army then it's out of stock everywhere. Vallejo has this problem more just cause their paint line is massive. They must have like 10,000 paints. For example I was experimenting with possibly using some of Vallejo's colour shifting paints for the main colour of an army but you can't buy them individually - you can only get them in 6 packs. I'm not buying three 6 packs just cause I want to use one paint from it as a base colour lol.

I would recommend trying them. I also tried a lot of brands and they are my favorite colors for layering. Even if the reviews are mixed, at least they are very different from everything else. They are made with gel medium which feels unique when painting. You can "push the color around" to control coverage and they dry without texture or visible brushstrokes. As they are very transparent basecoting can be tough. But what you get after layering 5 tones of the color, are amazing deep and vibrant colors with very smooth transitions from dark to bright.

I got into their paint with the airbrush range. I have to say its pretty good. Not the best but most are a bit more gloss and their is very matte. Which isn’t a problem at all. Its easy to add a gloss medium. Going from matte to gloss is so much easier than the other way.
Very recently I got the complete set of speed paint 2.0 and so far I’ve they are great. I’ve only used 20-25 of them so far though. They spray and wash pretty good to. And the price is about right for what they are.
One thing I’d love for the miniature community to stop doing is adding water. Only use a medium, please.
Adding water to giant amounts of paint for canvases and the like is needed to save a lot of money. But come on you guys use next to nothing. Please use a medium.
