How to make a split from a Langstroth hive to a Comfort hive

My second attempt at getting this Sam Comfort hive started. If you are wanting to start a Comfort hive and you have a Langstroth nuc that is fairly strong, here is one way you can do it. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for documenting this! I"ll be following your channel this season. Last year i used commercial mediums. this year i'll be using all my own boxes made from 2x; similar to the Comfort hive except they take Langstroth frames. If I catch a second swarm I really want to try out a true Comfort hive using the skewers.

I like the 2x's that take langs. I have those in deeps. They get pretty heavy, but I harvest individual frames rather than full boxes.

If you added a Frame of Brood (piece off your Langstroth Frame) into the Comfort Hive when you box your next Swarm, they won't abscond ! Brood is a Bee Magnet 👍 Hope it works for you on your next catch. 🐝

PS. I use a Rooster wing as my Bee Brush. Works a treat. Sorry guys if you think a Rooster goes to Freezer Camp with his wings, not. 😏 Those wings have uses !
Lay them flat in a dry place, the butchered cut dries to a leathery finish. And kinda becomes a tiny handle as you hold it in your palm, as your brush your bees ! 👍
Loads of Beeks have Chickens, and I guess a spare Rooster 🐓 near the Bee Yard.
