You bet your ass she was, and she was spectacular! This old granny filled in as the 'singer' trying to do Bev's songs after she quit the band in 1967, and you can see why they only book into tiny little venues, it's just a 'tribute band'.
Yes Beverly Bivens was the lead singer of We Five when they recorded You Were On My Mind. She left the band in 1967 and didn't perform publicly until 2009. She no longer performs and is the sole surviving member of the original group. Debbie Burgan, Jerry's wife (now widow) became lead singer of We Five after Beverly left.
@@MikeBehindTheMike if you research you will find bivins didn't 'stop' performing but with her husband jazz bassist fred marshall joined light show artist artist bill ham as part of an experimental band 'ligh-sound-dimension' that performed all around the bay area from '67ish to the '70's...plenty of posters out there to see the name!

Debbie Burgan sure as hell wasn't a co-founder of the WeFive, Mike Stewart and Jerry Burgan were. This singer is just the cuckoo in the nest that Beverly Bivens abandoned in 1967, when the band went from almost huge to nothing but a 'tribute band' formed ten years later and booking into 3rd rate venues with a really inferior singer (Jerry Burgans wife). It's a living, eh... but it sure ain't a rock band. Yeah it sucks being 75, but these farts should try singing in tune...
