I have this popping sensation, but there isn’t really any pain associated with it. It doesn’t really pop at all when moving my arm alone. It pops when I push my shoulder forward and back. It also feels like the vibration is coming from a tendon that connects inside towards the spine. I can feel the vibration in my left trap muscle too. My biggest worry is pulling my trap / neck bad while lifting weights as that’s where it feels like something is pulling and popping unnaturally. Its deep under the muscle though so its hard to feel where its really coming from. It doesn’t hurt but feels kind of gross like something isn’t moving right.
I have a similar experience too. My right sternoclavicular joint is less pronounced, right clavicle also. I believe this is due to poor posture and uneven weight distribution during working out. My right pectoral muscles appear less pronounced, this indicates compensation by rhomboids and trapezius muscles to support the scapula and shoulder joint, thus causing excessive use and straining of the muscles. Eventually, this all leads to a clicking/grinding sensation upon shoulder/scapular retraction. It is painless, and the affected shoulder also appears a bit weakened and pulled down. It's not a serious issue though as training the pectoral and shoulder stabilizing muscles ( levator scapulae, trapezius, rhomboids, serratus anterior) through strengthening exercises over time will help solve it. And most importantly, fixing poor posture.
Thank you. This explains a lot of the pain I have been experiencing. 🙋♀️🙏
