This video is about the most awaited gear shift indicator on the Dominar.
For NEW DOMINAR - FREE OF COST ECU UPDATE by Bajaj Service center.
FOR OLD DOMINAR -
Wiring Harness - J402248 - 9600 Rs
Primary Console - DT402409 - 6300 RS
Secondary Console - DT402410 - 2100 RS
Labour - Around 2500 but may differ.
Total 20500 -
TOO MUCH for Gear Indicator for older model. Unless someone really wants it.

With Dominar its risky to get ECU updated if one is having a smooth experience with current ecu. Also for old Dominar, its better to invest that amount in good quality riding gears... #ATGATT

No you can't do the stock one. You will have to do it aftermarket the way I did. Watch my other video of dominar gear shift indicator

Bajaj service near has stopped updating this ECU update as they are saying many users complained of burned ECU

Engine is completely different old model is sohc but new one is dohc sometimes u will not get exact exhaust note

I am just at a bajaj service in chemburm, Mumbai and the guys here successfully managed to shut down my completely working bike by effing up the ecu update on my bike.... Apparently they didn't have the latest version and they flashed my ecu without that knowledge
Damn, screw them,, they will have to replace the ecu under warranty
He's gone to a different service centre to get the updated file, if that works... Then fine, or else I'll get them to change the ecu under warranty

Mirror is something which we can either spend 1300 get the York and mirror whole set or buy mirror and make 10 mm to 8 mm adapter. Working on that... Need some time
Personal Experience: This update hasn't been much useful for me because the main display has less visibility in sunlight. So, I end up looking at the second screen.
Another reason is that it doesn't show the Dynamic Fuel Consumption and Gear at the same time. Also, now they have wasted so much space by showing the time and gear on both the screens.
I would love an ECU update that can bump the trip meter limit to at least 5K. Still wondering why they limit both trip meters to 999.

It is definitely reliable just go for it then and there can be some minor issues but I am pretty sure by the time you get the delivery or thing should be fixed and nothing which is going to cause a major problem

Hey bro i didn't had my first service yet but somehow today automatically my trip meters were reset and i was able to set the gear indicator in the main screen why this happened?

You are talking about Gear indicator with Hall sensor. That's done and dusted as the Hall sensor on after market gear shift indicator alignment is issue and it's not precise. I am working on something will update soon. Do subscribe to my channel.

In bangalore already people are doing it. Majorly mirrors. USD forks are too expensive for the mod as you need to change a lot.

Got ecu updated in my dominar 2019 1 week back. it seems tge software update is with bugs.
the trip meters sometime update on their own and screen brightness fickles. Very very upset with this casual approach by bajaj.

Isnt it possible to bump the power to like 3-4 Ps by getting an after market exhaust and an ECU? Why bother with a new engine?
I am gertting around total 2.5 to 3.0 HP with the BMC filter and the Power tronic ECU. Total engine swap is another option to bump it.
New dominar has an major issue both the trip meters stops at 999.9 is there any way for this pls do reply 😃

Today I visited in khivraj motor Which is located by kasturaba road I was servicing my bike very good and helping people but after serving I got my bike after 7pm but they ask me to come before 4.30pm but after serving I got facing new problem that was my bike headlamp is not working and automatically blinking
Hi Atish, Talk to Senthil in Kasturba Khivraj and get it fixed.
Bajaj says they will update the ECU only when Bajaj sends a text message to the owner stating there is an ECU update.. Now I am wondering if that is even correct. Can someone help with this? I bought it in Sept 2018, till date no message from Bajaj for any ECU update.

You can but you need to change the fork, the T Stem and bearings and all.Technically the improvement is gonna be negligible as a normal person but yes it helps in better handling and cornering.

The handle bar is same the person has just put a stabilizer in the middle which is nothing but an adjustable rod with clamps.

It will be expensive affair as the console then tale tail and wiring harness around total 20k. Or rlse you can check my other video where I got display from AliExpress and ktm hear sensor less than 2k but labour will be separate

Hi Buddy, If your dominar has upside fork then yes, Thats the new model ad only for that the ECU update is provided.

No there is no way for backward compatibility.
Can this update increases the power ? Or is it possible to increase 2 to 3 hp with ecu remap?
No I don't think there is any update in power. You can only increase up to 1 hp with Performance filter like BMC check my other video about bmc filter.
Bajaj dominar 250 is best at its segment,but it lacks in a gear shift indicator.actually it is coming with the bs6 engine and meter console of old dominar series.can we add atleast a gear position indicator through an ecu update in bajaj dominar 250?

I think this is only for D400. For 250 you can check my other video about using gear display and ktm sensor also I suggest you check with bajaj showroom to confirm whether 250 comes with display or not

No you cannot put this console on 250 but you can check my other video how I installed a gear indicator using a small display and ktm gear sensor

Hi Bro I am having dominar 2017 model as u mentioned in the video its possible to change the engine for my bike and if its possible pls give u r comments its worth to change it.
I checked it with the service center guys and there is no guarantee that engine will work as no one has done it. Infact the new dohc engine has issues so i prefer you don't waste money unless you have heavy pocket and are ready to take the risk of doing so on trail and error basis .

No you can't get this update for 250 but you can do as I did. Take ktm gear sensor and buy aftermarket lcd gear display. Check out my other video.

Hey Vijay, Thank you for the video was waiting for it ! I am from Hyderabad. I was a bit interested in the pro-tapper handle bar that is installed, i have almost 5.11 and got the llviya raiser installed, but i still feel need another 2 inch higher for the handle bar for being comfortable on highways, it might be only be as i come from the Himalayan breed, appears that pro-tapper gives you the right height ? I guess we would have to change the cables as well .. Can you give a little more information on the same ?
Its not a pro taper handle. My friend has just installed the handle stabilizer which is a adjustable rod thats it. As far as Risers are concerned 3 inches probably will be too much and technically i wouldnt go beyond 2 inches as anything higher your weight on the handle will cause the pressure to go forward instead of down which can affect handling. And yes in that case you will have to change all cables the moment you go to 2 inches.

D400 2019 UG will start the engine if side stand is on ?
No it will not if it is in 1st gear.
And the new D400 UG will be updated ECU or we shld get update in service center ?
Yes, when on side stand you can put the bike in Neutral and crank the engine.
Sir my bike is the old dominar and I want to swap my engine with the UG... Can I do it..? And Hw much ll it coast?
There are 2 options.
1) As per Bajaj tech you just need to change the Bore and everything above the Bore and probably some wiring for few things. This is a risk as even after changing all parts and assuming no problems are there. no guarantee that you may get that extra power or engine will surely work fine. OVerall cost is around 25000 as the DOHC setup and bore is expensive fort UG.
2) Changing the whole engine which is easy and costly but It is illegal as chassis no wont match.

The console change wi require wiring change as well which itself will be 20000 to 25000 with labour. Not worth.

My friend got it from accessories shop. He got the hand stabilizer which is a 3 piece adjustable rod and on top Protaper is mounted

It's an expensive affair since the whole wiring set and abs assembly and much more. It will cost you approx 20000

@@VijayHansora If possible please arrange and upload a video if at all anybody in India has done it. Well an abs dominar which met with an accident damaging the abs units will definately have to undergo the reinstallation procedure though.
