What do you think? Is the MG ZS Hybrid the bargain of the year?? - To read John's written review on the website, click here: driven.site/words/mg-zs-hybrid-se
Depending on how you look at it, it's the other cars that are too expensive to be true. As recently as five years ago car prices were "unbelievably" affordable..
@@teofilol2666 there is no denying that everything is suddenly a lot more expensive than before, but then in car tech and safety standards have improved hugely too which all has to come at a cost.
@@ridehead8771 I’ve covered it in my written review along with a far more detailed account of driver impressions. (55mpg combined) driven.site/words/mg-zs-hybrid-se
It was around 45-50mpg, but please consider I only had the car for half a day on a mixture of roads, so I can't offer anything more detailed until I get the car for a longer test. - John
it looks way way better inside especially then anything else in this price range and stupid Dacia Duster hybrid are more expensive and have interior like some tractors with those cheap hard plastic
Test drove the trophy model 2 bad points steering wheel rake and when you open it up and the engine roars very load it must be the battery switching off and the engine kicking in stressing only when you floor it it's quiet normal driving
@@graciegirl1722 the engine noise will be a result of the 3 speed gear box. It does cause the engine to rev very high (some say it’s a bit like a CVT). I’m spending a bit more time with the model next month so I’ll make a note to check out the steering rake for my updated review.
I Really appreciate your style. But you didn't refer about bad ergonomics (non adjustable steering wheel), noise from the engine and from the wind at high speed, bumpy suspension on damaged B road, and more important the "strange" Hybrid managing software: during long hills the battery gets completely drained ( lack of power) meanwhile during long way down the battery gets filled up and the car has no engine brake ( because the ICE engine remains Off)
@@1happydream thank you!🙏🏽 well, I only had access to the car for a few hours for my review, perhaps a longer term booking is required to see what the deal is. Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts. - John
The reason is that these small time vehicle reviewers on TH-cam can't afford to give a vehicle a bad review because the manufacturer won't let them have a vehicle again in the future. Small time TH-cam motorcycle reviewers have the same problem. If you want a non biased car review watch either carwow or Whatcar. These smaller reviewers are biased and not worth watching. Whatcar has currently got a very honest review of this the first ever MG ZS hybrid, there was never a previous model.
He mentions it's quiet at 70 mph. I've never felt the need to adjust a steering wheel in 50 years of driving. Why are U an mg hater for what seems a very good car for the money.
On a city traffic how many metres can the mg do as electric?? I know the battery is small 1,80klw and the car motor will start at 59 klm but I see nowhere the range
@@tasoskataras Hello, there is no ‘electric only’ range on this model (as seen on many other hybrids with similar electric output). I cover this in greater detail in my written review. driven.site/words/mg-zs-hybrid-se

Great video!
@@henryfaulkner-smith5746 even if you do say so yourself! 😁
The white one is £21,995 as quoted in the video. Selecting red adds £695 to the price. Still looks very good value though.
Great review! How does it compare with rivals in terms of noise and comfort at highway speed?
Very nice video!!!!
Can you please tell us where is the engine made in, and your opinion about the reliability of the engine.
Thank you!!!
Actually it's not 18.3kWh battery, but 1.83 🙃 Which is still bigger than most of hybrids, but 18.3 would put it in PHEV category :P
Nice drive it's on my list for next car only thing I didn't like was speed is on the far top left of screen
So what's mpg like?

I have seen that the direction of the steering wheel is completely visible, is this correct?
@@jorgefernandez3573 I’m not entirely sure what you mean?
I preferred the darker video 😂🤣😀
@@alecking3096 credit where it’s due… that was well spotted! We’ve had a frantic hour or so fixing that 😅😅
In other videos I have been able to see how behind the brake pedal you can see how the steering wheel steering bar lowers and is completely exposed
@@jorgefernandez3573 I personally didn't notice that at all, but then that's not overly unusual for multiple new cars in this bracket.
