Like visiting xixuangbanna, Jilin, Qiongkushitai, hemu, enhe, hulunbuir, kashghar, Qiang village, LiTang, Dalli, harbin, and Gansu (Minqin County, Desert Sculpture Art Park Museum) and Qinghai Chaerhan salt lake.

I agree and his story will resonate with many people, lke me 😊 I love to work from home and be happy as well as productive.
I'm also considerating selling my car if scenario will be emigrating and remote work.
Internal dilemma's and wanting some kind of autonomy / freedom are human needs. I feel an urge to explore too bc I adapted myself in an office for years which was ok bc it gave me option to buy an apartment and pay off college debts but I'm in another stage now.

I’m 50, your typical Asian male…college educated, career driven, committed to taking care of the family. I had to walk away from work and reevaluate life. My life was flipped upside down when my wife passed due to cancer. Me being the breadwinner, my wife always followed my lead…I loved her for that. I was focused on planning for our future…paying off the house, car notes, raising our son. Today, house is paid off, no debt, the boy is in college figuring out his life, got money saved up…even more money when the agent that sold us our life insurance policies contacted me to claim my wife’s policy. Now what?!
Cudos to you Donny for living your life. Me, I’m taking it day by day trying to figure things out.

I traveled for three years after high school with my best friend, we traveled Africa, worked in South Africa, traveled Australia, Europe and the Middle East. My parents thought it was a great idea but they thought we would only travel a year. When I got back I went to school got married, got a masters and worked a successful career. I was lucky to be able to travel all over the world for work. Now I travel three or four times a year - usually 2 weeks at a time. That is about perfect for me. I love working and sometimes I need to force myself to self to travel. I took another masters degree two years ago. Just something to keep learning and growing. Love the story.

True but also often we already had been grateful for small things for years and something happens a traumatic experience or illness burn out.
We are getting paradoxal messages too a lot.
One message tells us to count our blessings, not looking for wealth but mental health ( do what makes you happy overall)
The other message: accept that having a roof above your head and being healthy is enough.

I am 46, as well. This was my plan when I got divorced in 2020; I just was stopped by covid . Afterwards, always delayed and made excuses since I was a bit scared to do it alone after covid. Also , financial part of it. I put the work first, not myself. I am feeling really so motivated to live my own life now, not family expectations or society rules or life consuming work which made me unhappy for years. I regret a bit that I rushed to quit, but I don’t want anything different in my life after, so it’s all good. I worked for a FD for 18 years after and retired early last year so I could spend more time with my old parents, but ended up having to take care of my father, but I was able to do that and my father was able to spend the last time of his life at home instead of at a hospital, so it’s a blessing.

Thanks for the video, Donny. I also watched the one by the neurosurgeon, Goobie, that you mentioned. As a first-generation Asian Australian, I had a similar upbringing. A few months ago, I decided to quit my corporate job to carve a new path because the traditional route wasn't something I could see myself doing for another 30 years, even though my last job was the highest-paid and arguably the least stressful.
I spent some time overseas and am now back in Australia, taking my time before stepping into something new. Returning overseas is still a possibility. I'd be lying if I said money and the thought of potentially being 'behind' wasn't the biggest thing holding me back from heading back overseas, but it's reassuring to hear that despite your setbacks, it wasn't the end of the world and you and your partner managed to keep going.

As I watch this video, I think about down-sizing a lifestyle. I am about 3 years to early retirement. For the first time in my life, I know that there is a way to live my passion. First, I need to get rid of the fear of what if. When I don't enjoy working at my job anymore, I know that it is not my job that I don't like. It is my work environment that I don't like. I believe once we start down-sizing our lifestyle, any change we want to make in our lives is possible. The more we spend time for our 'individual' selves, the more chance we find our passion. Start there.

I wish you that you find your divine assignment soon , once you do , many of the things of this world start to lose their imaginary value, you will most likely reach your highest goal of human existence, there will be struggles too , ( I’m an authentic Christian) a chosen spiritual teacher , if you ever come to Vegas, we should talk if you like to ❤

The concept of getting pleasure from life, this is very new. For thousands of years, people have been poor and life has been hard. People didn't have leisure time, so the concept of passions was for many non existent

Hey Donny, I dont know why your video came across my feed, maybe the university has it own algorithm but I think I have a very similar story. During covid pandemic, I experienced something different inside me, I became questioning a lot of things about my life, my career, my effort, my life and my future. I become more interested with spiritual subjects (astrology, buddhism, dark night of the soul, carljung - shadow work...), I started doing mediation religiously and I stated realizing things that I never thought about before. I became sick of trying/hustling as I see no point in everything and i couldn't find myself to do any work.
Also there has been something inside me been telling me to go back to my home country (Vietnam), I have only visited Vietnam in 2018 for 1 month and honestly the sense of connection and being finally home hit me hard, but i kept it inside. I have been feeling so disconnected since I moved aboard.
I have been a selfless person for as long as i know, i always see myself as person who is responsible for everything in my family - sometimes i do hate myself about that trait but growing up i was taught to be this person ( i know i realized i was being programed that way but honestly its hard to break the cycle). I also have an Asian mum who is extremely worried about everything. She was honestly against me going back to Vietnam but she eventually gave in.
Anw, me and my partner finally booked a one-way ticket back to Vietnam, honestly we dont know what is ahead of us. Your video gave me some courage and strength. I would love to connect and have a chat if you ever come to Vietnam or Australia.

Hello, I am almost 40 years old. I worked for 20 years and bought land, built it and rented it to a laboratory. They pay me about $2,000 per month. I will take some and escape from the prison of work. Fortunately, I am not married and there are no obligations. I will live a life of laziness in Asia and get up when I want or when my body is comfortable and ready to get up. We do not have an income tax here. Fortunately, I also saved about $100,000 to buy an electric car and a small apartment and live from rents. Currently, after the Corona pandemic, everyone wants a life of comfort and laziness and to get away from the prison of work and life. Interesting how individuals believe that throwing away their livelihood and traveling the world, following their passion will make them “happy.”

Travel does need money to spend. Try look for nomad jobs that do not stuck at a place. Try also locate or understand your own personality such as mbti or socio hierarchy.
It is just like playing a role playing games for your ownself and plan yourself accordingly.
Btw, this video is quite a video to telling your own self. Travel with survey or travel to enjoy or travel to relax or travel t experience or travel to make money and at the end travel to spend money.
In summary, know your personality and complete yourself.

Omg this is popping up after I just got a call from a Recruiter in response to my cv. If they invite me for an interview I told myself I will take it and stay in Netherlands but if i can't find a good match Job in NL i will move to Spain, work remote and also sell my car and take it as savings to Spain. I'm 48, want through some big life events which led to selling house and rent apartment.
High rent. The job I have no applied for pays well, my situation would be solved. Will have to work in office but hybride is an option.
I was probably to open to the Recruiter told her where I'm at but she seemed to appreciate it. .i dont want to work for a company that doesn't view people as humans anyway.
We will see. Ofcourse i hope tp get an interview and if it leads to a job i will take it, try and Spain can wait.
The fact that I'm nervous for their call to tell me yes or no means I'm motivated I guess.
