You're very welcome. I was actually surprised it went that fast. But definitely cruises at 24 to 25 all the time. I will put a better description and with the rough times that I can get with the lithium pack

My son has the sx500 for in city riding. He's been riding it for 4 years. (He rides much faster gas dirt bikes too). The batteries are dead and time to upgrade, should I buy the 650 motor and 12v 14ahr ? He's 9 but weighs 55lbs. Would that be a decent up grade or a waste of time? Was that computer upgrade plug and play?. Thank you

The controller and throttle (36v 1000w) I used is a direct plug and play and should be used if you upgraded to the 36v 800w motor. If you do the 650 motor, stick with the original controller as it is the same for the 650 and 500. 12v 15ah is the biggest you can fot. Ebay has 3 for $100. Sometimes amazon. If you decide to stay with lead acid. I highly recommend a quality lithium ion pack. I have found for roughly every 100w increase (nonovervolted) you net 1mph. So the 800 w should net roughly 3mph. And the computer for me net 1mph gain.

I’m looking to build a mongoose mini bike , do you think this set up would work in it?

The hardest part will be properly mounting the motor. There is also a currie 24v 500w motor that is much shorter. Probably easier to mount. And definitely a lithium battery. Should be a great project. I also really like the freewheel. Can cruise downhill with no throttle on.

@@bdrgarage7039 so the bike is already a 24 v 250 stock , I’m looking to put a Mophorn 1800W Electric Brushless DC Motor Kit - 48V 5200rpm Brushless Motor with 32A Speed Controller , what battery would suggest , building one or is there a battery out there already that would connect , this is all new to me and I’m not electrically or motor inclined

It is possible some thick U bolts from the hardware store could hold the motor to the frame.

@@mikeklevenz997 ah, sounds awesome. With brushless you need lithium, build or buy. Won't be cheap, that motor will pull a lot of amps. A 48v 30ah minimum byt the BMS should be at least 60A max burst and 40A continuous. Might need more. I haven't had to go that big yet. I will check into it. Lead acid batteries will not keep up.

@@bdrgarage7039 if I went the build a battery route which seems most likely , could I power using power tool batteries and that conversion ?
