This is great news!!! I was just talking to Steven telling him in about a month or so I will be placing orders for new polishing pads as they have went through their course in the past 20 or so months!!! Can’t wait until these are available. Great changes.
Excellent news as the original pads are amazing and keep working for me. I hope the wool pad has more overhang so I can work in under door handles easier like the yellow or red pad. Thank you for constantly evolving!
Hi DIY, This video came out a day after the yellow waffle pad 5.5 inch and legacy sponge got restocked. Are the restocked versions the updated ones? Or are the v2's coming out after this fresh batch? Thanks!
Looking forward to getting the new pads here in Australia.I am still waiting to obtain the Rinseless V2 here ,it has been sold out for months.Cheers,Ivan & Nick
Don't know if this is any interest to you however I've become a fan of your products staying in Canada it is a bit hard to come and not on Amazon Canada however my brother owns 4 detailing workshops in south Africa in my home country, and he has told me that an individual has brought over your products and selling it at 5-6 times over the retail price you charge so a bunch of people bought them and then compares them to products that match the price they paod for and if it comes out short they saying you guys are just selling hot air when in fact compared to the right items it blows the competitor miles away. Maybe look into getting your products to South Africa as you actually got a small fan base over there too that can grow much bigger.
Will these new pads have the same “bend” and strength for us small home enthusiasts that hand wash pads? Sometimes the lake county pads would stiffen with hand wash so I hope the new manufacturing helps but also keeps it smooth and easy
Maybe I’m reading into this, but maybe a bit of relief coming from buff and shine? LC seemed to really struggle to keep up with your demand. No complaint as I like both companies for their pads, just reading between the lines.
Must say this really strikes a nerve with me. If Buff and Shine can make your pads with an angle cut, then why did they change there Uro fiber pad from an angle cut to a straight cut now. When I called and asked them, they said it is for safety reasons. I thought cutting on an angle was for safety too. I personally find it very difficult polishing with an oversized pad. Buff and Shine, if you read this message, please make your Uro pad angle cut again. Also, Yvan, your wool pad already had an angle cut? Did Buff and Shine increase the thickness and angle cut it more for you? th-cam.com/video/0sGbOvl4iqU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O-dPUaNaYIpHG4sN
@diydetailofficial I must be going crazy then. Your wool pad sure does not look straight cut to me. Measure the back side of your wool pad, then measure the contact side. Let me know if the measurements come up the same.
I apologize, I just double-checked my wool pads I've purchased from you, and I realized only one of my wool pads is cut on an angle. The backing plate side of this pad measures 5 1/2 inch and contact side of the pad measures 6 inches. The other 2 pads look even straight cut on both sides. Can the backing plate side shrink that much? I only use it using your 5-5-5? Maybe 5 uses total ?I can show a picture of it.
Wasn't able to find the 5.25 inch wool pad anywhere (Netherlands/ Europe). So I am still waiting to start my polishing adventures until I can start with the DIY System. Hopefully not only all the new pads will come our way, but also V2 of the rinseless. As my current brand is definitely leaving something on the surface. I'm really looking forward to start the full DIY detail experience. From cleaning to coating. Now I'm postponing it due to lack of availability. So please santa (for us it's 'Sinterklaas') come visit our houses 😍
I saw the new red pad shape in the Fab Detailing rotary video and thought it must have been an old prototype. I love that shape on my foam pads! Especially for polishing narrow concave areas on bumpers. I am REALLY happy to see all these changes. When I'm using those red pads ( I love them on Porsche soft paint) I need to cover a lot of real estate as fast as I can. Also, larger diameter rotary pads also seem to have improved performance at the same RPM. How about a 7 ½" or 8" red pad designed for the B&S 1800 7" backing plate with the same edge profile and maybe recessed back? Thank you.
I use force rotation whenever I can first. Unfortunately, the 3401 does not spin fast enough to remove enough water from the pad after cleaning. Looks like some nice improvements to the pads, though!
Great to see the evolution of your products. All the changes brought forward make them even more interesting and appealing for everyone (from weekend warriors to the trained professionals). Nice job!

About the legacy sponge; what, if any, is the difference between the red and black sides? Have never seen an explanation of this.
Just a different colour to help with tracking

With those new edges on the pads, will they fit perfectly the backing plate or will there still be a lip ? On the diy polishers precisely

Has there been concerns with the Gold Standard Waffle Pad shrinking at the baseplate?
The previous generation, that is.
When the user exerts too much pressure, yes it happens
Would the pad sitting in Rinseless Wash for too long cause that as well? Or machine washing in hot water?
