Developing the argument on both sides is one solid way to show one understands the concepts being tested.

There is no such thing as cramming, or just studying for one night before a test, one needs to really pace themselves in law school.

While I wish I would have had Professor Coughlin I didn't. And herein the problem lies. She says not to mention the acts reus if it is spelled out for you. And I agree that a student shouldn't have to. But my crim-law professor wanted every aching detail of every element of the AR painstakingly discussed. As for trivial issues, it depends on your professor. Again, I think Professor Coughlin is 100% correct in that you shouldn't bother with trivial issues because there will be real issues present. However, I lost big points on my torts midterm because I ignored trifling and unlikely issues that could have been mentioned even though they were irrelevant. The bottom line: know what your professor wants. Do not assume that because Professor Coughlin is sensible, that your law professors will be too. :)

@Glenn in answer to your question, I recommend you try look at university unit guidelines and course content first if you can, make sure you covered all readings and confident you know your stuff really well, once you feel you know everything in that subject practice your exam a few times before taking on the real exam. This will well prepare you, I would also like to inform you that you can go on to ITunes U and try find the subject/course you would like to know about

Do you know if anybody have ever study law at home without going to law school and then test out of a law class, I want to go to law school next year, I plan to start studying very hard soon. I want to get some law materials and study. Do you think that it is possible to test out of some of the classes, what I mean is that instead of taking some of the classes at school I would just. Take the test, thank you.

You can't test out but in some states you can take the BAR exam without going to law school, California is one I think and once you pass the BAR exam in one state many states let you sit for thier exam too.

Lol, law professors are a joke. Common Law was never scholarly as in a university setting. Courts of equity/ or ecclesiastical law were however.
