How to Make a Good First Impression in a Job Interview - Ft. Sarah Johnston // How do I make small talk before job interview? One time I went to a job interview without eating anything. During the interview, my stomach growled. The interviewer asked "you must be hungry huh?" I replied, "hungry for success!"

Thank you for all these videos! I watched a load of your videos before my interview (including your ones on Tell Me About Yourself and telling stories) and I GOT THE JOB! 😁 This video really supported me - we got a good rapport going & I actually ENJOYED the interview. Even when I faltered on some later questions, because at the beginning I'd been solid they prompted me and were really warm. Thank you so much for all your help!

These videos are nice and good and somewhat helpful but you can absolutely ace an interview and have them not call you back and there’s also a chance of you fumfering around and being hesitant with answers and the next thing you know they call you back for a second interview. My point being, NOBODY really knows why you get a job or you don’t. I equate it to asking someone out for a date. One female might be stand offish to you and next week you meet another female who for some crazy reason, was very into you. It could be for ANY reason whether positive or negative. There’s no point dwelling over why or why not

Great energy. 1/10 of a second is what it takes for someone to form an opinion of you for an interview.I thought you had 15 seconds. Great tips🙏

Can you share the source of this study? I think it's too much of a big statement to say they will hire you because you did a good first impression. To be honest, I had a pretty good interview, but when I gave a confusing answer to a question the recruiter's posture changed. Nothing too bad, but I can definitely say their choice won't be based only on the first impression.

I think this puts me at a huge disadvantage as an introvert who can only engage with other people when working on a shared project.
