Fewer games canceled due to weather as well. I get it.
Turf is harder on the body. While the bounces and such are more consistent than on grass... still too much bounce and it plays so much faster.
By UK standards that ref was whistle and card happy. That simply wasn't a dirty game.
Maybe a little card...but at this level of play. Sometimes if you don't whistle the ball early on fifty fifty out of control plays....someones gonna get an ankle broken. Its like they just get more and more out of control and then someone goes flying. Dunno why it happens but it does.
Referee did a good job overall, a couple missed calls early on but the non foul on Alliances goal was a great decision, the guy simply tripped

Do referees give you the benefit on a grey area early in the game, your first foul, blow out or a call that doesn't effect anything? Sure. Sometimes the call is black and white and we have no choice.
A close game, with 20 minutes or less left... then you delay the restart.... yeah, you are probably getting a caution(yellow)
@@grumpyref then i must’ve gotten some lucky games cuz my teammates used to always try to delay and would never get carded the first time

Whether we are doing a good job or not.... to all those reading this..... this is why no good referees want to do these games and there are not enough of us!!!!
Agreed. I used to be a ref and was a linesman for many adult games and u21 games. I can't imagine what I'd do to that guy on the sidelines calling me a mother f***** loudly and proudly. I will say that there were definitely some bad calls tho, and that was the most ridiculous red card I have ever seen. But things like the corner kicks vs a goal kick, I'd maybe cut my guy some slack on SOME of those calls. I've been in that position as a linesman where your looking at two guys' feet from two feet away and all you can see is cleats and black socks and the ball goes off one of them out of bounds, yet you were just fixated on their cleats and the ball not the colour of their jerseys - so now you gotta make a split second decision whether to raise your flag for a goal kick or a corner.
@@BKm0nEY been there... I will say that the red card 'seemed' put of place. However, I can almost guarantee that the player included an opinion of the call, the referee and a F bomb thrown in.
@@grumpyref The complaints of these players to the officials are the disney chanell compared to footage I've seen from the CSL league... With the head official in todays game 15 people would be ejected in 10 minutes!

In most 'adult' leagues, I can accept "are you Fling blind?", that might be considered more of a quick release of frustration/passion. I am still going to have a word though.

A ref cannot reject fans, only players and staff he can reject
Depends on the organizations rules. I can eject anyone from a game.
If outside agents refuse, I can call the game abandoned. Game over. The leagues then deal with them.
Some require refs to have coaches and field marshalls to remove. If they are refused,the ref can still end the game.
I dont determine who wins in an abandoned game. I end it for safety of my crew, the players, coaches, and respectful other agents.
@@frpgplayer in Europe, in fact in the Netherlands were i come from, we can not do that. I did it once and it came back to me.. because it was outside the pitch. The ref on this level May only control what happens on the pitch. Outside is for authorities only
@@remkoleskens1169 If the problem is outside my field of play, and it happened once on me as I was doing a game on the private field near public access, I abandoned the game. No one could remove them, but it needes a police presence. I called it before the police arrived.
My game was U13. Kids dont need unruly, unsafe spectators.
He can reject fans from the premises definitely, after that he doesn't have enforcement to make them leave, but he can pause the match like he did
WRONG, ref can completely stop game for any type of over abuse from fans... has happened MANY times at the highest level, racist chants, throwing objects onto the field, etc. Ref can also stop a game, consult the 4th official - get police involved and eject fans from a stadium, has happened many times at the highest level. if it can happen in a stadium with +20k fans, then its easy to spot which fans are idiots at a game with 50 fans.
