    Wow the part about the set screws being used to shim nozzle alignment is genius as hell. I was watching a video earlier by a channel called mustard tactical. Funnily enough, it is actually the airsoft channel of a large minecraft youtube with several million subscribers called forge labs. In his most recent video he basically made a cry for help asking how to fix this issue. Maybe you could try to reach out to him. Maybe he’d give you credit!

      Haha wild. I just watched the video. I had the same issues with the VFC HK 416 when I originally had an F1 (open bolt) engine in it. I had random hop and left right fliers. What I did was:
      - Buy an F2 for a closed bolt engine. Not an immediate improvement on its own but way more tunable and the nozzle has a spring to maintain the forward positioning for bb seating similar to an AEG.
      - got rid of the forward backward slop in the engine install as shown in the video. This worked itself out for me when I swapped gearboxes.
      - Trash the Maxx hopup I was using because that was causing a lot of issues with mag fitment and getting pushed around with mag insertion. I found the stock vfc hopup to work more consistent however it was so tight to put any buckings in that I changed the stock hop for a lonex polymer rotary hopup that was way easier to fit buckings and pretty much the exact same as the vfc hop otherwise.
      - I added rings of tape to my inner barrel to help stabalize it up and down. I noticed when my magazine inserted or at least some brands of magazines that it would push the hop up upwards as the mag seated. That's no good.
      - I added orings to my inner barrel, at the hop face, to help seat the barrel and hop for forward/ backwards movement because when rocking a mag forward/backward I noticed the hop would move quite a bit.
      - I corrected nozzle alignment as described in the video. I had to change the gearbox to some random brand gearbox because it fit looser to allow for a custom alignment. The stock VFC gearbox had absolutely no play and the nozzle was way off alignment vertically (it was sitting too high initially rubbing the top of the hop essentially).
      - I had to try a few buckings and found quite a big range of performances. I also ended up needing to lightly sand the bucking lips down using 400 to 1000 grit sandpaper to avoid the nozzle or bb catching on the bucking lips.
      At the end I am still observing some midcap syndrome and hop issues on a full mag but left and right fliers are gone and 0 to 90 rnds are far more consistent than ever.
      In general the midcap syndrome issue stems from the engine design. I feel that the polarstar nozzle is quite loose giving it the ability to be effected by bb pressure a lot despite a perfect alignment on an empty mag, once a full mag is inserted then the nozzle is upward and lowers itself down as the mag empties (causing different seating of bb's and different hops vertically).
      I'm looking to further try a 6.05 Barrel instead of a 6.01 and also to try different bucking combinations with stiffer lips to help hold and seat the bb more consistent regardless of the slight upward nozzle pressure on a fuller mag.
      I've also read guys using a custom drilled ptfe shim to guide the nozzle but that might be beyond my capabilities to make haha.

      @@DucknDiveAirsoft damn, there is even more factors to this shit than I thought. My brain hurts

      @DucknDiveAirsoft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @TotshotAirsoft sorry haha yeah when shit doesn't work right you have to try a lot of things. Some times you don't need to bother with things if they work as expected. I'm finding HPA engines are more picky

    How would you shim the engine... I have the wobble issue ! 😅 ... what is the alternate?

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You mean back and forth slop? Polarstar has shims that go around the holes by the head of the unit. You can try those. I also thought of 3D printing a plastic shim shaped like a cylinder so you can slot it behind the engine body and fill any gap to prevent it from sliding.

      Good luck!

      @@DucknDiveAirsoft yes ( back and forth ) . No problem ordering the polarstar shims. But they bill it to much by sending it to croatia 🤣 i mean probably il do it in the end. Just wanted to hear a alternative solution.
      Thnx anyway👍

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheFrustratedAirsoftTech there is no one answer to chose your dp setting but higher dp puts out more air, lower dp puts out less air. Putting out too much air will usually give FPS consitency but more accuray issues. Your best bet Is to chrono through all settings in increments of 10 to see an ideal range.
