Thank you so much for another wonderful and inspiring video. I'm try to create my own branch line but could never hope to reach the modelling levels you achieve.
Bonjour Lewis, Many thanks for a great tutorial on tarpaulins and realistic weathering. A very relaxing, well produced video and the beautiful music is adding a lot to the 'ambience'. You are truly a fine artist and your creativity is inspiring ! All the best and keep safe. Greetings, Filip
Nice jobs ! As usual, it looks simple, but you have to find the idea to do it first, and that's the most difficult (and interresting) of the exercize. You're fine at this !
That video was lovely & calming . The music, the detailing the scenery. The line side shot was superb. You make it look easy but I think it is difficult. Thank you.
Lewis, another intriguing, instructive facet of your layout building skills. Illustrated in your inimitable style. Gentle, yet busy. The ‘reveal’ of the assembled ‘consist’ moving at scale speed was proof, again, that your way works. Well done & thanks. Peter
Hi Lewis. Great stuff I especially liked the tarpaulins. I made my own using the kitchen towel, pva and kling film method. That way I can remove them if I need to. The goods train looks superb with the excellent weathering. I must say that you have got this off to a fine art. Thoroughly enjoyed as usual. Cheers Chris.
Thanks Chris. Great idea, that crossed my mind actually - I must have seen it on a forum or a in a mag or something. I’ll give that a go next time as I’ve got a couple left over. Thanks again mate 👍🏻

Very nice Lewis. Those tarps do add something extra to a plank wagon in amongst a long goods service. Nice job on the coaches too. I’m guessing the t-cut helped to slightly buff out the plastic sides to add that shimmer you showed off after the work was completed? Keep up the great work mate. Regards, Ross.
Thanks Ross. Yep like the locos they just give the coach sides a nice shine. From the photos/footage from the 1960s I’ve seen, even when the locos are filthy the coaches always still seems to be shining and clean.

As always, good camera work, wonderful layout, and informative how-to project. If I may, I would like to suggest that CA super glue may not be a good choice for attaching the tarps, as another commenter suggested. It may soak through the paper and ruin the look. Pressing down on the tarp may also permanently attach fingertips to the wagon. At least experiment on a piece of scrap plastic and paper before trying this on a model you care for. With the PVA, one can get it off with water if the tarp gets torn, or you change your mind and want a different load in the future.
Thanks Steven - that’s a very good point. PVA is probably the way to go. I’m terrible for superglueing fingers to wagons, scenery or indeed other fingers!
@@MouldyRaspberry As am I! Glued myself twice a couple nights ago, trying to repair a broken impeller on an aquairium filter. FYI, CA, when mixed into baking soda or other powdered substances, forms a super strong bond in all directions and is a great filler material.. You can google "super glue baking soda" to see how it is done. I re-glued a spring clamp which I had foolishly broken. It is as strong as ever.
Great tutorial once again The tarpaulins look really good. I guess the sides were easy to glue but were the ends fiddly to do as you edited that out. I am wondering if super glue would work better to stop the paper springing off again. The coaches look good with that bit of shine which I remember them having when hand cleaned.
