    First thing catching my attension - riding her bitless. Still few people do it that way; there´s no serios reason putting metal in a horse s mouth. Such a gentle girl. Didn´t catch how old she is. Wishing her all the best at her new home.

    As drafts go, she is beautiful. You can get her extensions for her tail.

    Kudos to see her being ridden bitless!! Hope the new owners keep it that way. Gorgeous mare, she's come a long ways! Love you guys!

    Such a beautiful, sweet girl. So glad she found her forever home. I owned a former Amish draft mare 20 years ago who had a docked tail. Working draft horses are at risk for getting tails caught in their harnesses and machinery. I used some tail hair from one of my other horses and wove an extension into "Angel's" tail. Her tail was actually white but her extension was red, but I think Angel was happy just to have something to swat the flies away. Enjoy your new life Persephone!!!

    I'm sure a hair stylist could braid her a new tail, humans do to their hair all the time. 😀

    Persephone is the horse I'd adopt if I could afford to! If I win the lottery I'll adopt one like her and get you guys a new hay wagon and a new Bobcat you need. Ah, the dreams. lol

    Funny story. I was driving Amish men home from work. Along the way we came upon another Amish with a team and forecart. The man in the front put the window down. I figured they would say hello to the man. Instead he issues a Whoa, Whoa, at the horses and darned if they didn’t stop. We laughed and drove on. Then they said they knew him, he used to work with their brother and he would do that all the time to other Amish. No harm no foul, very quiet back road .

    You should get rid of the music accompaniment - it's so distracting. I would rather hear the natural sounds of the horses and land. So grateful for the wonderful rescue work that you do!

    She is gorgeous but what did happen to her tail?

    • @PonyTalesRefuge
      @PonyTalesRefuge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people cut them short so the tail does not get tangled up amongst the carriage when hooking up!

    • @hethacopland3713
      @hethacopland3713 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shame is that docking means cutting through the bone in the tail. It is perfectly possible to just cut the hair if there is a real risk of entanglement. Most do kend drafts these days are not working horses. They have no way of getting rid of flies without a tail

    Want a beautiful horse and can I ask you how do I have confidence win I ride my 16 2 hand horse thank you Nannette

    • @PonyTalesRefuge
      @PonyTalesRefuge  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Confidence is something you will have to come to on your own time. Don't ever rush yourself as that can cause unsafe behaviors if you and your horse are worked up. Main thing to focus on is trusting your horse
