That's actually a good question. I don't know, I'm sorry. My best guess is that thumb pulling won't work, because we're mainly targeting the maxilla here, and it won't bring that lower jaw forward.
This question is best answered by an orthodontist. My assumption is that the slower the expansion, the smaller the gap. You can also get braces afterward to bring those two teeth back together, without reducing your palate.
Unlikely. Maybe you'll achieve some correction because a wider palate will promote less overcrowding. But it sounds like you'd want a professional orthodontic job.
I am 17 year old after 3 years of braces my whole face became small and it had a big impact on my lower jaw .is there a technique to expand my lower jaw
No, unless you pull with different forces on each side. It'd be a good idea to monitor this, and to train your grip strength up to be approximately the same in both hands.
I don't believe so. You just have to try it for yourself, or find anecdotes of other's success stories. It does work, but nobody has done a study on it
Changes won't be permanent if you revert back to bad habits. You'r face will return back to its original state. Ideally, you incorporate this into your lifestyle and do it indefinitely.
@@cyzz_leyea i mew now forever i think, but if people had an expander and the palate got widened, it usually stays there or not? So why thumb pulling should not be permanent?
@@Chef_cookk Because the bad habits that put your maxilla and palate into this state will return once you stop thumb pulling. If you ditch those bad habits and mew subconsciously, then ther shouldn't be any problems with the narrow palate returning.
I can definitely make one! Might take a month since I have other vids lined up. Btw I agree that it's easy to do it wrong, but pulling symmetrically on the bone (not teeth) is a good starting point. Thx for the suggestion
I pull directly outward (to the sides), then directly forward (behind the central incisors). A few sets back and forth will help my palate expand in all directions.

But if anything starts hurting or feels off, stop and consult a dentist / orthodontist.
Yes, those changes just come slower. Technically, any thumb pulling you do will help accelerate your mewing progress; the rate at which change occurs just depends on the time spent pulling. I've made it a habit to thumb pull in the morning and at night, as well as right after washing my hands. I don't do all 81 minutes of the full routine, but it's still enough to see changes.
Assuming you're just starting out, 10-15 sec per pull for a total of 3 minutes in a session. Then do it 2x a day. Ideally you get stronger and can pull for longer in the future. Remember to only pull on bone, and pull evenly. Results come slow, but they will come.
@@cyzz_le but cyzz I have 3 molars in the left side and two in the right side , is it okay to do thumb pulling or should I use a ruler to balance things out
If you do thumb pulling, the chance of a tooth gap is very low, since changes come very gradually (0.1 mm a day max). If this worries you, just remember that you can control when and how long you thumb pull for, so you should never end up with the gap. You have full control
This caused my palate to feel like the bone moved when i pulled hard and 2 weeks later i noticed a hard rudge and lump has forned on ny upper palate not pain so maybe the suture gave way so i dont think this is good

Soo i dont get it.. how can we get the benefits without the risk of the teeth splitting cuz thats not good for aesthetics right.. and also, should we do it in the front or mid of the mouth? U mentioned both options.. and also, should we pull up and forward or up and sideways?
facial forward growth caused by thumb pulling is bound to affect your face from results I've seen. I don't think it will MAKE your nose smaller but it might give the illusion of a smaller nose. You can look at peoples' results from thumb pulling on the internet and observe the changes in their skull structure as well as their nose if you want to make sure.
Muscles always "win" over bone. It's the same reason why mewing works. Bone has plasticity to it (it can be molded with enough time and enough force/pressure). If your masseters (and other fascia) are tight, then those muscles will dictate how the bone grows. Or, how the bone is reformed.
Ramus is pretty hard to change, I think mewing, chewing and thumb pulling are your best bets, outside of losing body fat. I can try to do some research, and if it's interesting enough, I'll make a vid
If I'm less than 16 and didn't mew but also not mouth breated (just rested my tongue down but with mouth closed and nasal breather) then I could get changes or not? @@cyzz_le
One of the few videos that actually explained the concept of thumb pullingIt would be great if you could make a video of actually thumb pulling. I'm still not clear as to where exactly to place my thumbs.
For sure! Your thumbs should always point towards the center of the roof of your mouth, the pads should go directly on the bone right above the teeth (molars, central incisors), provided you have the room. That's the best I can explain it in words, I suppose a vid would be better. I'll see what I can do.

I've got one for skin. It's not very good bc it was one of my first vids, but I can do an updated one in the future.
Isn’t it dangerous to split the palate without medical supervision? How would you then fix the space between your front teeth,?
Better to have space between teeth and chad jaws than crowded narrow jaw
Anything to do with teeth can be fixed easily. Eye area, only a handful of surgeries are able to grant hunter eyes (and they wont look natural).
I am 17 year old after 3 years of braces my whole face became small and it had a big impact on my lower jaw .is there a technique to expand my lower jaw
The lower jaw will expand as the upper jaw expands with thumb pulling. Or you can chew mastic gum to grow your masseters wider
Hey ryzz does thumbpulling cause asymmetrical face
No, unless you pull with different forces on each side. It'd be a good idea to monitor this, and to train your grip strength up to be approximately the same in both hands.
can you link some literature and papers that back face pulling as a legitimate alternative that can produce results?
I don't believe so. You just have to try it for yourself, or find anecdotes of other's success stories. It does work, but nobody has done a study on it
@@cyzz_le you wouldnt say that most of the potential success just came from aging and regular bone growth?
@@taradikoff123 Not at all. People with narrow palates rarely grow to have large palates. Their jaws will stay small even as adults
Does the mandible follow the maxilla after the age of 25?
Bro how to get vertical jaw growth?
i have a lifetime stuffy nose but never was a mouthbreather
Interesting. I would think that a stuffy nose = higher inclination to mouth breathe due to blockage.
@@cyzz_le Like when i play sports for sure
does vitamin k2 fasten the results?
Im 26 now and was always moith breathing because of allergies, will this permanent if i dot it long enough? Or must i do it forever?
@@cyzz_le mmh i understand what u wanna say, but then the people with expander would also go back to narrow, but the usually dont.
@@Chef_cookk I disagree. With braces, many adults still have to wear a retainer otherwise their crooked teeth begin to shift back
Can u thumb pull with a retainer
Bro please upload the tutorial on thumb pulling. Because, it can cause serious complications if there is even a slight mistake.
I can definitely make one! Might take a month since I have other vids lined up. Btw I agree that it's easy to do it wrong, but pulling symmetrically on the bone (not teeth) is a good starting point. Thx for the suggestion
@@cyzz_le okay
can you do one side at a time? my palate is so small that it's uncomfortable to do both at once lmao
Definitely. Might want to train up your neck and your grip so you'll be able to "pull" away while using one thumb.
Should you pull completely to the side or slightly forward too?
I pull directly outward (to the sides), then directly forward (behind the central incisors). A few sets back and forth will help my palate expand in all directions.
Hey i have done hard thumbpulling from past 1 week, and my face got asymmetric and my tooth got crooked, please give solution bro
To fix the asymmetry, pull on one side only. I don't know how your tooth shifted within 1 week, but I'd need to know more in order to assess your situation
@@cyzz_le actually my palate was too narrow , and my face was already asymmetric on right side of my face but idk from past 1week i started hard mewing that like uneven mewing and hard thumbpulling too (twice a day 8-10min) but after 1 week , my face is looking more asymmetrical and while smiling my tooth is looking more crooked also idk what happened. And my jaw structure also a bit changed (i guess by seeing myself in the mirror) and it is noticeable. I need a solution, please help it just ruined my face
Actually it's like , my left jaw is much sharper and right jaw is like less sharp and round. I hope you understand
@@Kiran_gg04 Chew more gum on the right side, and trust the process. I don't believe a week can make such drastic changes, so it's most likely just your perception (you notice it more now that you're focusing on it every day).
But if anything starts hurting or feels off, stop and consult a dentist / orthodontist.
@@cyzz_le yes bro , idk man what happened but i am trying to fix the asymmetric by chewing gum and some facial jaw exercise. Maybe that will work
Can thumb pulling 10 minutes a day with full force also work? Not everyone has the time to thumb pull for 70+ minutes a day. You know?
Yes, those changes just come slower. Technically, any thumb pulling you do will help accelerate your mewing progress; the rate at which change occurs just depends on the time spent pulling. I've made it a habit to thumb pull in the morning and at night, as well as right after washing my hands. I don't do all 81 minutes of the full routine, but it's still enough to see changes.
@@cyzz_le Much appreciated 👍 thanks dude
Try doing at least 15 minutes of standard thumb pulling, only exert force when inhaling and release when exhaling, breathe slowly
Hey rizz how much seconds should I pull and rest
Assuming you're just starting out, 10-15 sec per pull for a total of 3 minutes in a session. Then do it 2x a day. Ideally you get stronger and can pull for longer in the future.
Remember to only pull on bone, and pull evenly. Results come slow, but they will come.
@@cyzz_le but cyzz I have 3 molars in the left side and two in the right side , is it okay to do thumb pulling or should I use a ruler to balance things out
That's interesting. I would just pull evenly on both sides. I don't think you should perform any corrective pulling as a prevention measure.
if i do get a tooth gap doing this, then is that temporary?
If you do thumb pulling, the chance of a tooth gap is very low, since changes come very gradually (0.1 mm a day max). If this worries you, just remember that you can control when and how long you thumb pull for, so you should never end up with the gap. You have full control
@@cyzz_le thanks
Can the thumb pulling be done on the lower teeth? My upper teeth palate is pretty wide BUT the lower isn't quite catching up with it
I saw short with this exercise
This caused my palate to feel like the bone moved when i pulled hard and 2 weeks later i noticed a hard rudge and lump has forned on ny upper palate not pain so maybe the suture gave way so i dont think this is good
That's the point, actually. We want the suture give way, and hold it there with mewing. This widens the midface and helps with cheekbone protrusion.
@@cyzz_le well pulling apart with arm strength could if been 20 to 49kg of force if it ripped the suture it could cause injury if done again there us no way to tell then maybe it would heal and be harder to expand
@@Catboxing Definitely don't want to injure yourself. But the suture is capable of being pulled apart harmlessly. MSE is an example of this
Does thumb pulling help straighten teeth?
no
@@captain_crackhead5690 Having a wider palate could help straighten teeth, because they have more space. But indeed don't expect your teeth to become straight from thumbpulling.
Perfect pro tips👊🏻
Thanks brah
Guys does thumpulling really works ?
Will having permanent retainers impair progress?
Yes, retainers retain the original position of teeth and palate.
You can get forward growth of the maxilla at least, but lateral growth is gonna be minimal to impossible
Soo i dont get it.. how can we get the benefits without the risk of the teeth splitting cuz thats not good for aesthetics right.. and also, should we do it in the front or mid of the mouth? U mentioned both options.. and also, should we pull up and forward or up and sideways?
Does thumb pulling gives smaller nose and improve hollow eye . Cause i already have high zygomatic bone I don t want more high ?
facial forward growth caused by thumb pulling is bound to affect your face from results I've seen. I don't think it will MAKE your nose smaller but it might give the illusion of a smaller nose. You can look at peoples' results from thumb pulling on the internet and observe the changes in their skull structure as well as their nose if you want to make sure.
It might make your nose bigger

how do you massage your masseters?
I like to use my thumbs (pads and knuckles) and I aim for the extremely tight masseter muscle strand
@@cyzz_le thank you!
How much force should I use
Full force, we want to see changes. Try to use hand grippers to get your grip strength up if you think you're not applying enough force
are you on org ?
Yep, under cyzzle. Haven't had a look around yet, any good threads to check?
Whos the guy on thumbnail?
6:40 can u say something more about it?

@@Nostra189 Sorry, missed this comment bc I get a lot on this channel. I assume you mean 18 min every day? 18 hrs seems impossible haha. Since you're 21, your sutures have most likely fused (like mine have), so growth will come slowly. Thumb pulling is something that should be part of your lifestyle, and one day in the future (after months, maybe years), you'll notice subtle changes. This may not be what you want to hear, but it's the truth.
