I'm a guy from Lyon, i've grown as a OL fan, when i was young, i used to go to the stadium with my father, every time a free kick took place, it was 1 chance out of 2 to get a goal. Everybody was expecting a goal from him, every time. The presure was huge, and he put it in the cage. Amazing.

When Juninho was playing for Lyon, during Champions League matches with top teams, the Lyon players will always aim to fall to get freekicks and opponents just don't want to foul any of their players. Any freekicks for them is almost a sure goal like a penalty kick.

When Juninho played for Lyon I used to watch them all the time. Any free kick on the opponents half was a goal scoring opportunity (no joke). It was so cool to see.
He's a master. Pay attention at 3:35 and again at 4:27, the ball has almost no spin. That makes it unpredictable for goalkeepers, the ball doesn't bend just one way as ir normally does, it kinda floats, goes one way then it switches direction midair. It's like a knuckleball in baseball.

Just so you are aware, the fact that the ball dips to the left last second is complete luck. Knuckle balls are extremely affected by air flows, which is what makes them very difficult to stop. But the exact direction the ball goes is just random.

Perfection, he can put some curve in close range, and purely powerful freekicks from far out. You can see how the ball is stable and not spinning in the air, incredible contact with the ball

The thing is (and it makes me an even bigger fan of Juninho), he knew about it and came to the soccer field before the game, with some balls to practice freekick in the high athmosphere, this gave Brazil its only goal in the match.
