Exactly. The genius thing was that even his missed free-kicks were dangerous because of the knuckle-ball, where the ball is unpredictable, so the keeper has no way to punch the ball ''safely'' outside of the reach of opponent strikers. So if any strikers of Lyon were near the goal, it would be an easy rebound.

I dont want to be that guy but the clip is cut off and a clip of his replay is shown. Look at the time. It fast forwards like 40 seconds to a replay of his free kick
It's wild watching today's players and seeing how few of them come close to the kind of technique players like Juninho had. Beckham, Juninho, Ronaldinho, Gerrard, Scholes, Pirlo, Xabi Alonso, Seedorf - even in their Legends games played in their 40s, their passing and free kicks are still something else.
First of all, much appreciated that you uploaded such a thorough video of his shots and free kicks. It's great that you update today's footballers with someone who had it all when it came to free kicks and distance shots: power, technique, variation and class. Good luck finding anyone in today's football who can fire shots like Juninho did from both close as well as long range. Messi? No. CR7? No. KdB? No. Neymar? No. Calhanoglu? No. Pjanic? No. Ward-Prowse? No. They are by all means good shooters, but not Juninho level and class. This video is a solid evidence of just that. Juninho was the best there was when it comes to free kicks and distance shots. Not just because of the amount of goals, but also because of how determined his shots were, varied techniques, masterclass of it and how he could score from pretty much anywhere outside the box. There are many free kick specialists in the history, including those who I already mentioned + the likes of Ronaldinho, Zico, Beckham, Pele, Del Piero, Ceni, Mihajlovic, Koeman, Platini, Maradona, Pirlo, Sneijder, Nakamura and Carlos to name some of the most prominent shooters, but there's 1 player who's above them all when it comes to free kicks and distance shots, and that's Juninho Pernambucano.
Mihajlovic was better, top corner every time with pace and not just against farmers league goalkeepers and without relying on modern football that flies around like balloon, knuckleball is a trick but Sinisia was way more accurate and Serie A was strongest league in the world when he was scoring free kick hat tricks

He had 16X scope fixed in his eyes and pin point accuracy in his shoot. The guy was so special in taking free kicks because he had all the skills: bend the ball, knuckle the ball, rocket shoot, left uper & bottom corner, right uper and bottom corner.

He scored against Iker Casillas one of the greatest goalkeepers in Real Madrid history from 40 off yards beating him at his near post, it didn't matter who was in goals. And your point about crossing the ball like that was funny, off course you wouldn't cross the ball like that, the forward would never get on the end of the cross, it would confuse everyone, I would have thought that was obvious.
@@philipduffy6581 because in that era you can't compare serie A goalkeepers with Ligue 1.
All my youth in Gerland paraded during this montage on Juni!!!Thank you Sir!
0:34 Young BENZEMA is completely amazed 😂😂
The best free-kick taker I've ever seen. 18yds, 25yds, 35yds, 45yds... you were never safe.
and statistically the best free kick taker ever BY FAR. Its not even close this guy had something no one has had since
How come this guy never won a ballon dor it almost seems as if it were / was a video game omg
Pure master of perfection in free kicks ❤

that already shows how they were certain that he wouldn't miss it
what a legend defenelly a GOAT
😅
OMG it's true, nice sight 😊

I dont want to be that guy but the clip is cut off and a clip of his replay is shown. Look at the time. It fast forwards like 40 seconds to a replay of his free kick
But look at the time
It's wild watching today's players and seeing how few of them come close to the kind of technique players like Juninho had. Beckham, Juninho, Ronaldinho, Gerrard, Scholes, Pirlo, Xabi Alonso, Seedorf - even in their Legends games played in their 40s, their passing and free kicks are still something else.
Verdad
His technically was a top notch because from the range he was playing thoses set piece from was incredible❤.
Juninhno❤
I just admire greatness❤
You know about Ceni? Props man, you know ball.
Mihajlovic was better, top corner every time with pace and not just against farmers league goalkeepers and without relying on modern football that flies around like balloon, knuckleball is a trick but Sinisia was way more accurate and Serie A was strongest league in the world when he was scoring free kick hat tricks
And me in Lyon seven years ❤ magique
This is my favorite Brazilian player back in 2007 to 2010, I used to follow Lyon just because of him, also used to play FIFA 2008 using Lyon and used to destroy the competition
Messi - dipping shot
Ronaldo - Knuckle shot
Beckham - bend the ball
R. carlos - Rocket shot
Juninho = The above❤❤
Are you in trouble? Have you heard of pirlo?
Messi is nothing is an advertisement that he comes from football country
I make you a real tu top, Dhinio, nazario, ockocea, maradona Viali, Neymar Qaresma, Pele messj etc. this is the real reality
He used to score 2 free kicks in the same game... One of his kind.

Beckham and Roberto Carlos were excellent, JWP is arguably the best free kick specialist in world football today, but Juninho was in a class by himself. Once his team crossed the halfway line, Juninho was in range. But from 30 yards or less, it was almost as automatic as an Alan Shearer penalty. The GOAT of free kicks.
the way juninho strikes the ball, almost makes it look like the net is magnetizing the ball

the speed and the way that ball swaying wildly in unpredictable direction. . what a maestro
its like roberto carlos no?
Watched him as kid at eurosport. The highlights always where Full with him. Greetings from germany no one was ever better
0:35 a certainly young Benzema seeing the greatness of Pernambucano
He could leather a ball like Hagi or Batistuta, but he could also whip and caress the ball too. Incredible technique, power and timing.
REMEBER THE NAME, THE GOAT, HE HAS IT ALLLLLLL🤩✨⭐️❤️😍😍😍😍😍

It was such an honor to see him play for my hometown for so many years.
He was the best and king of free kickers... 👑
He had 16X scope fixed in his eyes and pin point accuracy in his shoot. The guy was so special in taking free kicks because he had all the skills: bend the ball, knuckle the ball, rocket shoot, left uper & bottom corner, right uper and bottom corner.
