People want to know if Manali Leh Highway is open or not, and whether Srinagar Leh Highway is open or not what about the status of Manali Kaza Road, is the road from Manali to Kaza open?
What are the current 2024 travel updates in Ladakh or guidelines for travel to Spiti Valley in 2024?

These are among many other questions I am getting in my inbox these days, so today in this video, I am going to update you on these questions and update you for the month of June 2024.

We are going today at 5 am please provide some information about that...I met some guys saying that very dangerous
I am planning to visit Spiti starting week of July. As per my research it's Starting of monsoon season. I know it's not predictable but I would like to know what route to travel so I can safely reach back to Delhi and do not miss my flight. Should I take 1-2 day ka buffer? Which route will be ideal to return? Thanks a bunch ❤
thank you, Dheeraj bhai.. very nice to hear you once again!

Good update sir.
Thank you and Julley
Hi Dheeraj, we just rode from Leh to Lingshed via Singe La. Got some snow on top 4 days ago. Lingshed to Zanskar shortcut has a landslide so it’s shut.
Nerak to Chilling to Nimoo is shut in the day due to work and blasting. Some locals cross it at 5AM before the BRO workers come but not advised.
Kargil was super warm today.
Thank you so much for the updates dost!! Have a wonderful trip ahead.
Lots of thanks for the updates ❤❤❤❤
Happy to help
Dheeraj bhai, got stuck at top of tanglangla pass today for an hour due to snow clearance. it also snowed in, the road conditions are slush at best while descending from tanglangla pass, it is passable though but a high ground clearance is a must, I saw people getting stuck in low lying sedans but the bro team was up there working and trying to maintain it to the best of their capacity. These people definitely don’t get the praise they deserve. Anyways, keep up the good work dheeraj bhai, this has become the best channel for anything Ladakh.
Thank you bhai for the update

Dear Mr.Dheeraj, through your one of your post - Ladhak List of Taxi Services. We had connected with Rigzing for taxi. we had great experience with Rigzing and Dalex. Best thing was - they charged fair price, provided cleand and well maintained taxi, knew all the roads well, Driving skills excellent no rash driving and overspeeding, Always on time, everytime. There nature was simply the best, very gentle, smiling and sobore. During the need of hour, they very helpful. I will be recommending there names withing my firends and family, who wish to visit Ladhak. Thank you for your brillant coverage and for your valuable recommendations. Our visit to Ladhak became one of our most memorable trip, along with Rigzing and Dalex.😀👌
Thank you for sharing this feedback
The main point being.. .this year it is a lot more cold in the mountains than it was last year at the same time! I was on the way today same date and it was far more pleasant. I just needed a light jacket in the evenings.
Yeah. that is why layering always helps because weather is so unpredictable up there

Hi Dheeraj
I travelled to Ladakh from Manali side via Padum and Kargil on June 15 2024
Road from Darcha to Shinku La top is almost in good condition with some rough patches and 5 to 6 water crossings, two water crossings were major one. Some snow at shinku la top but road is good.
The road to descend from shinku la top is very bad, it is full of water, mud and non existent Tarmac.
Next from shinku la bottom to padum you will get some patches of good road and bad rood. Tar is being laid at a rapid pace. Till now 40% of the road is in good condition from shinku la bottom to padum.
After night halt at padum we left for Leh through Kargil.
Padum to Kargil road, initial 40 kms is bad and the next part till Rangdhum is newly built two lane road and is in very good condition. Pensila pass road is also very good.
From Rangdhum to Kargil, initial 60 kms 50% road is in good condition and rest is under construction. The last 60 kms through Suru valley till Kargil is old road it has also some rough patches but manageable.
It took 10 hrs to reach lamayuru from padum
Thank you so very much for these amazing updates... it will help a lot..
Dheeraj Bhai very informative video and it helps lot of tourist's to plan well. Where can I find similar information of Sach pass - Killar - Keylong as I am starting my ride on 15th June 2024

Latest update - 31st may darcha to shinkula open from darcha side. So for June month even days jaispa to shinkula open. Camps setup at Gonbo Rangjon. Padum to leh the new shortest Nimmu-padum-darcha is not allowed. Have to go via sirsir la at the niraq check post. Padum-leh update is of 2nd June. This is first hand information. Drove from padum to leh today. Niraq to leh road conditions are good. Zangla to niraq is bad road but doable.
Thanks for the update!
Thank you Nilesh bhai for a wonderful update right from the ground!! Will help many others
Thanks for the great update! God bless! You have made our journey less stressful
Hello sir. Wondeful video:-))
We are planning for a BIKE trip ftom manali to kaza on 13th june? Are bikes allowed in this road
Yes, all vehicles are now allowed on all routes
Dheeraj bhai, what do you think about roads conditions around 14,15 june that If restrictions of odd even days would be removed or not as I am travelling with family
Most likely they all will be removed
Hey Dheeraj - thanks for your much informative videos...really liking them.
I have a ques - I'm planning to travel Leh-TsoMoriri-Hanle in Aug...would it be fine to spend 2n at Leh and then 3rd and 4th night at Hanle?
Hi Ankit, better do like below:
Day 1 - Leh Rest day and acclimatize
Day 2 - Leh local sightseeing and acclimatize
Day 3 - Leh to Terido Village, rest and acclimatize, visit Teriphu Village (check video of Cho House: th-cam.com/video/AZyV1-I6OsM/w-d-xo.html
Day 4 - Terido to Hanle via Nyoma - Loma (tank up at Nyoma)
Day 5 - Leave 6.30 AM for Umling La and be back to Hanle by 12-1 PM and continue to Tso Moriri Lake for night stay via Loma - Nyoma (tank up again)
Day 6 - Tso Moriri - Puga - Tso Kar - Taglang La - Leh

@@discoverwithdheeraj thanks so much, but the only challenge here is that we three ppl are a day short...hope we can visit tso moriri on day 3 and overnight stay at Chumathang/Cho house (I loved it)?
Day 3 Tso Moriri is very risky due to AMS
Bro,i m confused between hryana to spiti vs haryana to gulmerge.which one would be best trip??ur way of guideing people is exceptional 👌👌👌👌
Go for Spiti as Kahsmir you can do even in winter time but Spiti winter is tough
Hello sir, please advise us where we should go for overlanding camping, we want to go somewhere with cooler temperatures and not much traffic of tourist. ❤
You can try out Pangi Valley and camp up there are Sural-Bhatodi villages. Check my blog here: discoverwithdheeraj.com/sach-pass-pangi-valley-most-common-itinerary/
Thank Dheeraj Bhai for the update….
Can you pls share updated petrol pumps on map???
Now as of May 2024, you will find petrol pumps ar following places in Ladakh
Leh, Karu near Leh,
Diskit in Nubra ,
Tangtse near Pangong Lake,
Nyoma near Hanle and Tso Moriri (Newly operational in 2024)
Then if you exit on Manali Leh highway from Tso Moriri then next petrol pump will be Keylong.
So if you are doing Ladakh circuits as above, you will need to manage about 290 km without petrol pump in case returning to Leh or Karu otherwise if you exit from Tso Moriri to Keylong/Manali then you need to manage about 420 km
Hello Mr. Sharma,
Since you have been to ladakh multiple times, can you throw some light on equipment and tools to carry when traveling in one's own car/suv.
Also, since the equipment list might be a lot to purchase for one trip in a year or decade, are there places which rent out these kits for cars/SUVs? When I say equipment/tools, I'm talking about - tow strap, recovery rope, shackles, shovel, mud track for recovery, oxygen cylinder with mask, Jerry cans, jumper cable, etc. May be you can tell us among these which ones are definitely needed, which are good to have and which ones can be ignored.
Thank you and keep up the good work to enlighten people about ladakh.

Dheeraj ji, we 6 senior citizen will visit Ladakh by road from 5th to 16th July.
Will enter from Srinagar and exit through Manali. Will rain create problem then ?
Sir I do not think by middle of July there will be much problem especially seeing everything shifting late.. generally i have see July third week onwards is when problem of rains start
You are doing a commendable job. Your vide are really very helpful. I have planned my whole Ladakh road trip after viewing your videos. Thanx a lot Sir.
One question- How much time will I take to cover Leh to Manali in my Fortuner 4*4 ? Can I cover it in a day ?
Thank you Alok, yes you can cover Manali to Leh in one day, most shared taxis that run up there does it in one day. However, you will be missing out of enjoying the highway and will just be running for Manali before sundown. But, feasibility wise well yes, you can do it just leave by 5 AM from Leh so that you have couple of hours of mitigation time as well in case of some road closures
hello sir july first week mai kaise kapde chaiye leh Ladakh mai
Hi Dheeraj - Thank you for sharing these updates and the details are very helpful. I am planning to visit Zanskar Valley from July 17 to July 27 2024. Would it be very risky to travel from Chandigarh by car considering the monsoon season would start? Route planned is Chandigarh-Manali - Shinkula - Padum - Kargil - Leh - Manali - Chandigarh.Appreciate your advise . Thank you 😊
Generally July is hit or miss type of season for heavy rainfall. In case heavy rains are predicted then better avoid the trip, I do not recommend traveling in rains in mountains especially the lower hills.
@@discoverwithdheeraj I was planning on similar dates. Would it affect my journey if I go via flights?
By flight is OK as Ladakh is a rain shadow region so no or very less rains reaches there

yes June 15 all roads should be open for both way traffic up there in the Himalayas.
HOPE ON 27th june MANALI LEH WILL OPEN FOR BOTH SIDE AND FOR TWO WHEEL DRIVE ALSO (SCORPION N)
It will be open both sides surely by then.. usually second week of June is what I have seen in the past and once snow melts by middle of June the road opens for both way traffic

Hi Dheeraj, I am planning a trip to Lahaul next week..any idea how the weather is there right now?
In case it rains, will it be possible to visit places in lahaul?
Well, weather predications up there for the next week is clear so it should be OK.
The information regarding Manali leh highway is wrong. The road condition is pretty ad upto pang as the road is being expanded and a patch of around 80 km is full dirt. Please inform this in your video. Also the down slope of tangangla pass is very bad the pot holes are at least a feet deep and cars are being stuck and broken on this road.
Thank you for the update

Very informative video......I just want to ask like we are planning to visit Baralachala Pass in Third Week of June.....How would be road condition, can we visit this pass on a small hatchback like Grand i10......and do we will have to face that even odd traffic arrangement.....our hotel guy is saying that the pass is open for all on all days.....can we go and come from Baralachala Pass from Sissu in a single day???Please guide.
There is no odd-even traffic rule now. Roads are a bit bad but manageable. It will take a some toll on a hatchback, just drive carefully and with caution. You can do Baralacha La Pass from Sissu as a day trip
Just coming from ladakh trip, big news is that original road from nubra to pangong via shyok village is closed. We have to drive totally on shyok riverside stones or on shyok river itself till shyok village. There is no road that exists as of now. So recommdation to move with 4x4 vehicles or atleast fortuner or innova type vehicles. Better to go from Leh from any vehicle

My one friend just went to Ladakh pangong lake and told that he wasn’t able to see any stars as there were clouds. So will there be the same thing in June end too like would the stars be visible or not?

Snow is only present near road after Losar to Kunzum Pass to Gramphu/Manali road. and Kunzum Pass to Chandratal Lake road.
humlog kal hi aye leh,via baralacha pass. there is huge jam there, road condition is not so good from sarchu via gata loops, snow is less on roads. one way traffic is going on. every pass road is in pathetic condition for 2-3 km. having a lot of pot holes and big holes

Roads are open, kind of dirt track but manageable conditions
Thanks a lot Dheeraj Bhai. Weather condition during last week of june to 1st week of july for Shimla to Manai complete spiti circuit.
Weather in general is pleasant during these days until monsoon arrives around middle of July to end of July.. sometimes there are some pre-monsoon showers, so plz check weather before leaving.
Sir I'm in Leh right now.. and I'll be heading towards manali by day after., please suggest what should be the first stop/stay on the Leh-Manali route ???
Well if you are not traveling to nubra and pangong then it is better to directly do Leh to Jispa and then jispa to manali to avoid AMS at Sarchu.. if you have slept at Pangong on the trip then it can be OK to stop over at Sarchu
@@discoverwithdheeraj Nubra and Pangong already visited... Now we'll be leaving for manali
In that case you can stay at Sarchu too
For bike do we neet permit for visting kaza? If yes what is process and cost?
No permit needed to visit Kaza for domestic tourists from Atal Tunnel.. foreign need permit
Kaza-Manali road opened for all vehicles as per police info.
Thank you sir for the update 🙏
@@discoverwithdheeraj Dheeraj Bhai right now I am iat Tabo staying in the Millennium Monastery Guest House. The admin's brother is in Police department and he had forwarded the notification dated today, in which it is clear. However, I'm not sure if shared taxis will run immediately. A cab driver told me that they will start it once the road is totally safe.
@kudpiraj they should run soon and yes I received the notification too and published it on cummunity tab
Sir we are planning to go Leh-ladakh by air on 29th of June and back on 6th or7th of July. Please help me with best itinerary. Thanks
I think i have replied to you on other commment with the itinerary
I want to travel by taxi (personal or shared) from Srinagar to Leh as I have to do some sightseeing. Is it okay to book the same once we reach Srinagar ? Or should we book it in advance through online mode.?
Can you suggest some good taxi service for Srinagar to Leh ?
Shared tourist taxis are hard to book online, you will only be able to find them on spot by talking to other fellow tourists and the taxi stand.
i10 car se kya Kargil-Leh-Ladakh-Manali kiya ja sakta hai 10 se 15 June tak? If yes, kya koi permit etc jaruri hai? Please reply

Hi Dheeraj,
When will there be a better scenic view / beauty ...June end or July mid week?
I'm planning to go to ladakh on either 23rd June or 14th July.
Please suggest.
Thanks!
It is similar between June end to July mid week. Your dates are fine. June end is generally good time
@@discoverwithdheeraj thanks!!
@discoverwithdheeraj
I would like to see brown and colored mountains. Not interested in seeing snow capped mountains or white & brown mountains.
So brown and colored mountains would be more likely in June end or July 14th week?
Thanks in advance.
@kank2011 more or less it will all be same during this period the late you go more snow melts making them more brown but between two weeks apart hardly much difference from naked eyes for peaks
@@discoverwithdheeraj thanks a lot for your help!!

Dheeraj sir, I am planning to do Zanskar this year in June 24 to 2nd July
Planning to go from Kargil side to padum & then to gomborangjan & shinkhula then back to padum then to Leh via lingehed , sirsirla & then from Leh to manali
I have my self drive car Toyota Hyryder manual with 210 mm GC & front wheel drive 1500 cc engine . Is this doable ? Pls reply & input your comments
Yes Lalit bhai, you can do this trip just be careful and drive with caution if you are not used to driving in offroad conditons. Your car's High GC will help you but you need to be careful. Check this video anyways for some common sense tips too: Leh Ladakh Trip in Small Car - Hatchback / Sedan / SUV | 7 Essential Tips for a Self-Drive Trip th-cam.com/video/MQuxokY-m8M/w-d-xo.html
@@discoverwithdheeraj I have already done gurez valley, Kishtwar- Killad road, sural bhatori, half way to sach pass from killad side, killad - tandi last year on my Brezza, also done kaza - kunzum pass, mud village in pin valley on ecosport. So have experience of off-road driving in different driving conditions also driven on black ice
So I have confidence enough but was concerned about road conditions & compatibility of the car , that’s why I chose June last week to be sure about best weather conditions
Any ways thanks a ton to make me more confident for this upcoming trip to Zanskar , Julle 🙏
That is really awesome Lalit bhai... you have a wonderful trip and by doing Pangi Valley and Kaza Manali, there isn't anything else new you will see on those routes :D

Will it rain a lot ? Should we do it with bike or car as it might rain a lot ?
Usually first two week of July is OK to travel as rains tend to start by the end of start by middle of July to end of July
@discoverwithdheeraj ji Kindly guide if Jispa to Leh would be open on 16 June. Planning to leave jispa early morning for leh on 16 June. If jispa leh is open on 16 June then what would be the timing?
Most likely the Manali Leh Highway should open by middle of June for both way traffic. I will keep posting updates in case it does not.

No, odd even no longer there

Or maybe Dalhousie dharamsala
Or harshil valley in UK

Himachal is my preference Sir

Sir, how is July mid (around 15th July) to travel to Ladakh ? What would the weather conditions be like ?
Weather will be pleasant in July. Just ensure weather is not too rainy in lower hills as sometime in July monsoon comes early sometime late.

Hello Dheeraj Ji..
Im planning to visit Chandratal lake from Manali.. I hope road will clear by 21st June. Could you please upload latest video on these route?
Can we do one day return from chandratal?
Routes are all open now for all type of vehicles
Thank you Dheeraj Ji.
Can we keep LPG gas Cylinder with us while passing Atal Tunnel.?
You cannot carry any gas cylinders via any tunnels.. they are prohibited
Thanks for the Updates.
I hope we can carry an empty cylinder. If we carry an empty cylinder, do we get any refill shop on the way.?
Bhai when they will check cylinder they will ask you to drop it there.. you should get the cylinder in Keylong or go via Spiti side or Rohtang Pass side to avoid the tunnel
