  • Are you thinking about how to plan a trip to Leh Ladakh in 2024 June or Spiti Valley in 2024 June or Zanskar Valley in 2024 June. People want to know if Manali Leh Highway is open or not, and whether Srinagar Leh Highway is open or not what about the status of Manali Kaza Road, is the road from Manali to Kaza open?
What are the current 2024 travel updates in Ladakh or guidelines for travel to Spiti Valley in 2024?
A new update is available now for June second week on the post/community section.

Even there are new rules of inner line permits for Leh Ladakh that you no longer need Inner Line Permits in Ladakh and only need to pay the Ladakh Ecology Fee.
These are among many other questions I am getting in my inbox these days, so today in this video, I am going to update you on these questions and update you for the month of June 2024.

I am planning to visit Spiti starting week of July. As per my research it's Starting of monsoon season. I know it's not predictable but I would like to know what route to travel so I can safely reach back to Delhi and do not miss my flight. Should I take 1-2 day ka buffer? Which route will be ideal to return? Thanks a bunch ❤

Hi Dheeraj, we just rode from Leh to Lingshed via Singe La. Got some snow on top 4 days ago. Lingshed to Zanskar shortcut has a landslide so it’s shut.
Nerak to Chilling to Nimoo is shut in the day due to work and blasting. Some locals cross it at 5AM before the BRO workers come but not advised.
    Kargil was super warm today.

Dheeraj bhai, got stuck at top of tanglangla pass today for an hour due to snow clearance. it also snowed in, the road conditions are slush at best while descending from tanglangla pass, it is passable though but a high ground clearance is a must, I saw people getting stuck in low lying sedans but the bro team was up there working and trying to maintain it to the best of their capacity. These people definitely don’t get the praise they deserve. Anyways, keep up the good work dheeraj bhai, this has become the best channel for anything Ladakh.

    Hi Dheeraj
I travelled to Ladakh from Manali side via Padum and Kargil on June 15 2024
Road from Darcha to Shinku La top is almost in good condition with some rough patches and 5 to 6 water crossings, two water crossings were major one. Some snow at shinku la top but road is good.
The road to descend from shinku la top is very bad, it is full of water, mud and non existent Tarmac.
Next from shinku la bottom to padum you will get some patches of good road and bad rood. Tar is being laid at a rapid pace. Till now 40% of the road is in good condition from shinku la bottom to padum.
After night halt at padum we left for Leh through Kargil.
Padum to Kargil road, initial 40 kms is bad and the next part till Rangdhum is newly built two lane road and is in very good condition. Pensila pass road is also very good.
From Rangdhum to Kargil, initial 60 kms 50% road is in good condition and rest is under construction. The last 60 kms through Suru valley till Kargil is old road it has also some rough patches but manageable.
It took 10 hrs to reach lamayuru from padum

Latest update - 31st may darcha to shinkula open from darcha side. So for June month even days jaispa to shinkula open. Camps setup at Gonbo Rangjon. Padum to leh the new shortest Nimmu-padum-darcha is not allowed. Have to go via sirsir la at the niraq check post. Padum-leh update is of 2nd June. This is first hand information. Drove from padum to leh today. Niraq to leh road conditions are good. Zangla to niraq is bad road but doable.

Can you pls share updated petrol pumps on map???

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

Now as of May 2024, you will find petrol pumps ar following places in Ladakh
      Leh, Karu near Leh,
      Diskit in Nubra ,
      Tangtse near Pangong Lake,
Nyoma near Hanle and Tso Moriri (Newly operational in 2024)
Then if you exit on Manali Leh highway from Tso Moriri then next petrol pump will be Keylong.
So if you are doing Ladakh circuits as above, you will need to manage about 290 km without petrol pump in case returning to Leh or Karu otherwise if you exit from Tso Moriri to Keylong/Manali then you need to manage about 420 km

    Hello Mr. Sharma,
Since you have been to ladakh multiple times, can you throw some light on equipment and tools to carry when traveling in one's own car/suv.
Also, since the equipment list might be a lot to purchase for one trip in a year or decade, are there places which rent out these kits for cars/SUVs? When I say equipment/tools, I'm talking about - tow strap, recovery rope, shackles, shovel, mud track for recovery, oxygen cylinder with mask, Jerry cans, jumper cable, etc. May be you can tell us among these which ones are definitely needed, which are good to have and which ones can be ignored.
Thank you and keep up the good work to enlighten people about ladakh.

Thank you Alok, yes you can cover Manali to Leh in one day, most shared taxis that run up there does it in one day. However, you will be missing out of enjoying the highway and will just be running for Manali before sundown. But, feasibility wise well yes, you can do it just leave by 5 AM from Leh so that you have couple of hours of mitigation time as well in case of some road closures

The information regarding Manali leh highway is wrong. The road condition is pretty ad upto pang as the road is being expanded and a patch of around 80 km is full dirt. Please inform this in your video. Also the down slope of tangangla pass is very bad the pot holes are at least a feet deep and cars are being stuck and broken on this road.

There is no odd-even traffic rule now. Roads are a bit bad but manageable. It will take a some toll on a hatchback, just drive carefully and with caution. You can do Baralacha La Pass from Sissu as a day trip

Just coming from ladakh trip, big news is that original road from nubra to pangong via shyok village is closed. We have to drive totally on shyok riverside stones or on shyok river itself till shyok village. There is no road that exists as of now. So recommdation to move with 4x4 vehicles or atleast fortuner or innova type vehicles. Better to go from Leh from any vehicle

Planning to go from Kargil side to padum & then to gomborangjan & shinkhula then back to padum then to Leh via lingehed , sirsirla & then from Leh to manali
I have my self drive car Toyota Hyryder manual with 210 mm GC & front wheel drive 1500 cc engine . Is this doable ? Pls reply & input your comments

Yes Lalit bhai, you can do this trip just be careful and drive with caution if you are not used to driving in offroad conditons. Your car's High GC will help you but you need to be careful. @@discoverwithdheeraj I have already done gurez valley, Kishtwar- Killad road, sural bhatori, half way to sach pass from killad side, killad - tandi last year on my Brezza, also done kaza - kunzum pass, mud village in pin valley on ecosport. So have experience of off-road driving in different driving conditions also driven on black ice
So I have confidence enough but was concerned about road conditions & compatibility of the car , that’s why I chose June last week to be sure about best weather conditions
