But you have your own language's , your roots and culture are your strength .they form the backbone of your personality . Never be hesitant or ashamed in flaunting your true self to the world . If you can speak English it's good but use it when you need it on the right place and the right time.
Why change if it’s not broke 🤔 Everything Ethiopians do is interconnected including languages. Once you intermingle English with Ethiopian languages it creates lots of confusing phrases. For example saying “enen እኔን!" has the same meaning in all Ethiopian languages but in English it does not have the same meaning.
Actually I live in the US and my daughter doesn't speak much Amharic. She wants to improve her Amharic so this is a good way for her to do that with the subtitles.

One thing that I want to advise Dink tv producers is that, tell your casts to use amharic language as much as you can to avoid backlash. It doesn’t look good and it’s cringe. My two cents.

High quality production comparing to most Ethiopian shows and enjoyed it. Keep it up! But please please make it more Ethiocentric and trust me you will benefit from it too by growing more local audiences because I hear half of their conversation is in English. I mean probably 95% your audience are habesha folks who can listen Amharic. I think English subtitle is enough for non-amharic speakers. You have no idea how we Ethiopians who live in western countries are trying hard to teach our kids our language and these kind of shows is one way that can help them to connect to their root back home and learn their language same time. 🙏
I found the show to be quite interesting, although I believe it should be more in line with Ethiopian culture. Here are a few observations I'd like to share: 1. The language used is quite mixed, making it difficult to connect with everyday Ethiopians. This sentiment seems to be shared by other viewers as well. 2. There appears to be a significant age gap between the man and the women, 31 and 22 respectively. While I understand that our society might have differing views on this, it's worth considering the sensitivity of this matter. 3. Blind dating isn't a traditional part of our culture. To make the show more relatable, perhaps involving the man's parents in the selection process or providing the women with some background information about the man could be considered. I want to emphasize that these comments come from a place of respect for your production. These points struck me as important to consider. Thank you for your understanding.
You are right I agree with everything you said! The language mixing particularly is not very elegant. It would seem more genuine and professional if it was either all Amharic or all English.

In the performing arts realm today, what sets success from failure is the producers ability to establish an emotional connection with its majority which is achieved through a stable, consistent and undistorted script.

Even as a very young man living in U.S. speaking English on a daily basis, I think the language, culture and expressions in here is highly excessive and I feel like the need to use English is exaggerated. And I’m not even like conservatively cultural person but this is too much crossing the line. I don’t even speak or act like this with my habesha friends lol. Anyways I wouldn’t I didn’t enjoy it but i gotta say some western is living rent free in that guy’s head!

Aight.. this was a great episode. Looks like he chose well, though the wine drinking date may have exposed him as too polite, asking her for dinner. After wine? I'd have wanted dessert, then maybe breakfast together. Doesn't look like he grew up in Addis either, just from his accent and English whereas Bami was mixing English with Amharic. still, all good. oh, and why we clash our glasses and say 'cheers' is because it appeals to our five senses. When drinking with others, we can see, smell, touch, and taste any drink but we cannot hear the drink, be it wine, beer, or soda. Then we can 'hear' it. we say 'cheers' or whatever in other language to wish each other the best. and just for fun, I want to say I thought Abigail was 💯. finally, there is another taste test but that wouldn't be allowed on tv. 😎

I found the show to be quite interesting, although I believe it should be more in line with Ethiopian culture. Here are a few observations I'd like to share:
1. The language used is quite mixed, making it difficult to connect with everyday Ethiopians. This sentiment seems to be shared by other viewers as well.
2. There appears to be a significant age gap between the man and the women, 31 and 22 respectively. While I understand that our society might have differing views on this, it's worth considering the sensitivity of this matter.
3. Blind dating isn't a traditional part of our culture. To make the show more relatable, perhaps involving the man's parents in the selection process or providing the women with some background information about the man could be considered.
I want to emphasize that these comments come from a place of respect for your production. These points struck me as important to consider. Thank you for your understanding.

The language mixing particularly is not very elegant. It would seem more genuine and professional if it was either all Amharic or all English.

If it’s a show you can control the dialogue or even give them a script, I can articulate any way I want at home but for you to broadcast to the Ethiopian majority and expect “your articulation” to be above the targeted audience’s comprehension level nor even the standards of any video production to date is quite unprofessional and uncharitable.
In the performing arts realm today, what sets success from failure is the producers ability to establish an emotional connection with its majority which is achieved through a stable, consistent and undistorted script.

Even as a very young man living in U.S. speaking English on a daily basis, I think the language, culture and expressions in here is highly excessive and I feel like the need to use English is exaggerated. And I’m not even like conservatively cultural person but this is too much crossing the line. I don’t even speak or act like this with my habesha friends lol. Anyways I wouldn’t I didn’t enjoy it but i gotta say some western is living rent free in that guy’s head!

Aight.. this was a great episode. Looks like he chose well, though the wine drinking date may have exposed him as too polite, asking her for dinner. After wine? I'd have wanted dessert, then maybe breakfast together. Doesn't look like he grew up in Addis either, just from his accent and English whereas Bami was mixing English with Amharic. still, all good. oh, and why we clash our glasses and say 'cheers' is because it appeals to our five senses. When drinking with others, we can see, smell, touch, and taste any drink but we cannot hear the drink, be it wine, beer, or soda. Then we can 'hear' it. we say 'cheers' or whatever in other language to wish each other the best. and just for fun, I want to say I thought Abigail was 💯. finally, there is another taste test but that wouldn't be allowed on tv. 😎
