This VOWEL sound of the word HER is so similar to the U Sound of French language

I think it's the same sound in somes "e" in french, I can't remember right now when it's used. (French got a lot of "e" sounds for me, a native spanish speaker haha)
The "e" that starts in the the base of the throat, like the U but with the mouth open.
