Happened to stumble across this and wanted to see your opinion as someone who also got the white one. Nice chill review! I really am digging it as a dude with big ass hands lol. White controllers are my favorite look for tech and this one doesn't disappoint. Only thing im not a fan of is those super loud shoulder buttons. They feel great but DAMN are they loud lol. Rumble also kinda sucks, I turned that off immediately, completely agree with the comparison to the 8bitDo controller, love that pad so much.
I love my 8bitDo! ❤️ Easily my favorite accessory I've picked up for the Switch yet!

I honestly fell in love with the SNES and the GameCube editions lol. And for the extra money, I think Crkd really knocked it out of the park with those two as far as design goes. I just got white to match my other controllers.
I am so very happy we are living in an age where hall effect thumbsticks and longevity in expensive controllers exist. Even if it is third party.

Lol Not a fan of how it looks? Yeah, if I was playing docked and table top only, I think I'd shy away from this one too. Get myself a nice Pro Controller style pad.

Agreed! They really did a nice job with those limited editions! I thought I was gonna regret not getting the Gamecube or Snes but most people in the comments have made me feel pretty good about my choice getting white. And no worries on the elevator typo! I wish I had the excuse of an elevator most days for my typing.

The GameCube one is what got me interested in this in the first place but I went with black in the end. Slightly more respectable to play on the train as an adult man. 😂
Same, every time I see White or Black I regret so much for ordering Game Cube one. Like it's really nice, but feels like a toy, and white feels more premium

I think you would get sick of the gamedube one with its colours. I liked the black one before, but I think the white one will look nicer for longer. I don't know if I should get this or a satisfye grip.

I agree, the nitro is awesome - with room to grow and improve. I just got mine two weeks ago and love the thing. Because I typically stream my games using controllers that have rumble absent as an option, I had forgotten how good having haptics enabled is.
I have my switch modded with android as a secondary boot, so I can use steam link. While driving around in Watchdogs, the nitro gave me haptic feedback whenever the engine kicked back and really didn't feel terrible - weak for sure - but also not overbearingly powerful, which is welcomed since this is a handheld and will steal battery from the console to deliver.
When I'm in console mode, having the option to go wired with the nitro initially seemed weird. But as a minimalist, the wired option fits in very well with my mindset, so I realistically only need one controller. Might get some raised eyebrows for that comment, but I also preferred the feel of the WiiU gamepad as well and this doesn't feel too different. I would just like to the see the v2 nitro to have the right joy stick moved above the face buttons - like the WiiU gamepad.
Also, CRKD just released new firmware to help with finetuning the nitro. I've got to say, after watching that video, I had not even known that the nitro could even do over half of the things that they even talked about in the update vid. Effectively, the nitro is basically a self contained "Pro Controller". This thing has so much customizability under its hood, why go anywhere else for a controller option or switch handheld option? Admittedly, I would probably never have need for all of the features, but having the option is still an extra positive to add to the Pro vs. Con bucket. Added the benefit to replace worn out sticks unintrusively is yet another positive, cementing that they are a company that "gets it" and knows what gamer's controllers go through.
Hell yeah! I love that about your switch. If I still had my first gen I would have to do the same and dual boot it!
Yeah I think, Crkd just made a very good start into what could be a promising future for controller products. That update is amazing. This video is a little old now but when I made it, I did not expect a surprise update like that. Very cool Crkd, very cool.

@JustinAfterDark honestly, I like your channels feel; very relaxed and modest, without worrying about covering too many demographic related aspects - wholesome, I believe is the proper term.
My advice, coming from watching some of the "bigger" channels: keep the focus on what you like and what you're passionate about, and you'll have a guaranteed install base. I'm going to stick around for a bit and see what else you've got going on; possibly give you a sub if I find that your format gels.

I believe the HAL effect joysticks are a game changer. They extend the life expectancy of your controllers indefinitely imagine not having to send them in for repairs or buying replacements . Yeah!!!

Glad i got the gamecube colourway goes with the pokemon sv oled switch really well time will tell when it arrives tommorrow how itll handle. Can only think that slidding it out will get annoying but ill be playing games mostly handheld with docked on the rare occassion so it wont matter

I go back and forth a lot between docked and handheld. At least from my experience, it's really not bad. I have heard some people have got a tighter fit to their deck but mine is not the case. Releases pretty smooth.

My white one got dirty really quick, some food crumbs have somehow got stuck at the bottom when I placed it on my desk, I don’t even eat at my desk 😭 apparently it’s super rare though despite it not being a limited edition version 😂

Can you charge it with the cord while using it or does it charge the switch ?
Yep! You can charge the Switch through the input port on the back of the deck while you play. The Nitro Deck draws power off the switch when not attached to power so the unit itself never needs to be charged. As long as the switch is charged you can use the Nitro Deck.

If you have a Steamdeck, how would you compare the weight to that?
I wish I had a Steamdeck to compare but sadly I don't. I will say though the Steamdeck looks like it comes in at 1.48lbs(669g) and the nitro deck (0.6lb)272g + the switch OLED (no Joy-Cons) approx 0.71lbs (322g) for a total weight of drumroll.....1.31lb (594g)
So if this math is right it should be a little lighter than the Steamdeck.

Ken! Thanks for watching! Yeah, Input lag is fine. You won't notice if there is any as these are connected via USB c. Haven't tried the gulikit kingkong though. Assuming it's Bluetooth?

The way I see it is. It seems like a good unit for using the switch only as a Hand held console which is exactly what i'm gonna do whenever I get the replacement for switch. I currently am still using my 3D s as a handheld. Cause my wife and kid like to use docked switch at home I currently am still using my 3D s as a handheld. Yeah I think for handheld it's great. Would have been a really nice feature if the output port on it sent display signal over to a TV/monitor though. Maybe in the next version we will see that.

So the Nitro Deck unfortunately cant be used to monitor display. You can dock the switch in a traditional dock and play with the nitro deck as a wired controller but, its output port functionality on the device is ONLY to be used as a controller.

Yes! To use the Nitro Deck as a controller the switch must be in a traditional dock, and wired to it via USB C from the output port. Then the crkd little led light will be white, hold down both the thumbstick for 3 seconds to have the deck turn into a controller. You'll know you do this right if the Crkd led light turns orange and the controller rumbles.
So originally I picked up the nitro deck because I thought I may be able to be used as a dock as well as a grip controller. Not the case unfortunately. That output port deceived me. If that's what you were thinking too, I'm sorry.

I love the build quality and how it looks, but man I cannot get over the fact that my thumb constantly hits the right thumbstick holding it normally. If they had the grip come out at an angle or offset the buttons from the joysticks would have made it more comfortable.
Yeah! That right thumbstick is a bummer. Idk if the thought process was because there are four back buttons we can get away with it? I really don't know. It doesn't affect me enough to not use the pad but I feel like people with certain sizes of hands may run into what you're saying quite a bit. And I've totally run into what You're saying.
So my favorite one peice controller now is the dobe eggshells. If it weighs same or less. Then im all in. If its heavy then id pass. I have the retroflag gamecube color too. I hate that it scratches the rails.

I been seeing this a lot. And I really don't think it's for me. The device looks cool and all but I'm not a fan of the two ports in the back and the kick stand. Now that I see that the right thumb stick is so low I'm definitely gonna look elsewhere. I appreciate your review bro.
I wasn't a fan of the two ports on the back initially but my fingers never touch it. The kick stand is also super sturdy and you can position it multiple different angles.
Totally understandable! If you find something that fits your needs better, let me know. Would love to see/review people's favorite alternative.

How's this D-pad wise? Mine is on its way, and that's the prime reason I bought it. The Switch doesn't have a D-pad, and the Lite D-pad is just... it's a war crime, man. A war crime against fighting game fans.

I think the D-pad is good! It's not the best. I think that trophy goes to 8bitDo controllers. But! It's not bad by any means! It's tightly in there and has a medium to high pressure to it on the touch. I don't own a Switch-lite so I can't compare to that but I do like this one.

e-waste accessory without a doubt. Completely ruins the ergonomics for Switch OLED, including downgrading the kickstand heavily.
Haha 😂 I hear you on the kickstand. Yeah, this product is for sure not for everyone, I totally get that. It absolutely takes away from the size that Nintendo tried so hard to achieve.
But I do think the price point when compared to Joy Cons are great and if you like back buttons and extra features you got something there for those kinds of gamers. I'm just glad we get so many options.

Ngl… I’ve been liking mine quite a bit 🤷♂️ the rumble does blow though, way too loud and not variable other than total vibration power. But just on or off. Hoping the + or nitro deck 2 fixes this. But as a steam deck alternative? Fire 🔥👌 the joysticks are the best part hands down
