Even CA/CMA/MBA program requires one to study lot of papers. With exception of CA neither takes such a long time to qualify as Actuary.
Yes Actuaries are intelligent because it's only for intelligent people. Not a simple maths/stats, calls for understand indepth mathematical statistics and financial economics. FRM in Banking/fund mgmt and ERM are areas that are sunrise fields for actuaries. In India Bschools do not offer Masters in Financial engg, Actuaries can fill the void in Quants roles at Hedge funds, Risk mgmt at Banks, AMCs and Corporate ERM.

Mam i love mathematics and love number as well as accounts also but i don't go for ca because its take time ,it takes atleast 6-7 year for students and this period of time we can't get have any such type of job but in acturial science we have a job after 3-4 papers,but I don't know how much we can expect after clearning 4-5 exam so can you please tell me about it
Actuarial exams are a lot harder than CA. You need to pass 13 exams to get the designation and if you cannot pass the exams after 3 tries, the company kicks you out. It takes atleast 7 years for most people to get the designation.
Mam can please make a video on how do exams are conducted or whta is the exam pattern and if i take a membership in ifoa and register myself for an exam than will they provide any study material and classes,if yes is their will be any extra charges for it. Like i mean to say can explain everything about ifoa.

Hi, many consultancy firms also hire actuaries. You can start your own actuarial consultancy firm as well, but its a difficult route and first you will need to gain experience and exposure through job.
Ma'am i want to know if my mathematics is not good so what i have to choose CS1 or CM1. But in CM1 there are some topics which i covered before and about
CS1 topics i never studied before but there is little bit more confusion like you said that CS1 is the subject of analytical research my mind saying go for it because when i given my CAT exam my reasoning marks is maximum that's why i am really confused about CM1 and CS1 please help me to known what i have to choose between them.

I picked CS1, because it's syllabus (statistics and probability) looked similar to what I had been studying in my graduation.

At this age, I would say go for shorter duration courses like FRM, CFA or any other, because actuarial science has too many exams. Though you can start with an actuarial job by just clearing 2/3 exams, but you’ll start as a fresher and the starting salary would not be that good (for a 27 year old). Still, there is no age limit and you may go ahead if you are really interested.

No. You should select one institute only from which you wish to qualify as an actuary.
Will out companies pay for our exams? Can you elaborate on this please?
Different companies have different study support policy. Some pay for your exam fees only if you clear the exam. Some have other conditions too. Some pay only for a specific institute like IAI or IFoA.

yes, they provide exam result letter, which can be downloaded from your IFoA login account.
I’ve done b.com, and i am a business mathematics student in my high school, but i do have interest in mathematics and statistics. Does a career in actuarial science suits me? And I’ve seen somewhere that languages like R, python are necessary to take jobs in actuary, as a commerce student, i have zero knowledge on coding languages, c c++. What can i do?
Hey you can learn these languages from online courses. R and excel are also included in actuarial syllabus, you will learn them through the exams too.

5 to six lakhs? Is a lakh not $100000 dollars? So you would expect to make $5-600000? That seems like a lot. Did you not make a mistake? And what is a fresher, a person with 2-4 exams?

It varies for each exam. These are competitive exams and so a small percentage (40%) of people in the top are considered to have passed the exam.

M.Sc actuarial science is different to clearing actuarial exams.
To qualify as an actuary, one needs to clear all actuarial exams through an actuarial institute (like IAI, IFoA etc.) On average it takes 7-10 years.
