So I'd spend over an hour wandering their YA section, their mystery section, sci-fi... And then I'd be walking around with this stack of books. One of the guys working there asked me if I wanted a basket or a cart: "Basket please."
My mom literally heard this from across the store and yelled: "OH GOD NO!"

i don't think you mentioned it in the video, but it also has a map of all of the places in city of bones and the first chapter from jace's perspective (which was PHENOMENAL) :)

Going to Barnes and Noble is always an adventure for me. I can usually spend about two hours, because I have to walk down EVERY aisle and look at ANY book that catches my eye, sit on the ground in front of sections I need to do an extensive search through, and leave having spent at least $100. It's a ritual I have full embraced. I just find so much peace in that store ♥

The City of Bones hardback you got is a Barnes & Noble exlusive collector's edition. The new covers are for paperbacks only and they all have a map of NYC and a foreword. The B & N edition has more stuff like the Clary poster and two short stories from Jace's POV (seeing/meeting Clary for the first time and their first kiss). I can't post a link here but it's very easy to find the hardcover on B & N.com when you search for City of Bones Collector's Edition.
Also disappointed to Winter isn't as big as I had hoped it would be.
I have to know. When you move; how many boxes are devoted to just your books?

I'm not sure if someone has already commented it or if you've already found out but City of Bones the new cover actually has a number of extras! There is a map, drawings of their apartments and other main spots in the story and numbers indicating where they are on the map, and there are a number of extra scenes at the back that are rewritten from Jace's point of view such as the Midnight Flower scene and the Pandemonium scene! There are a few other little things like a note from Cassie and TDA snippets so yeah! Just thought I'd let you know so you don't miss them! :D

I totally feel you Christine! I was in the city (I went 4 hours on the train, like effort) and I was trying to find Lair of Dreams in the UK cover, but it's out of stock ON BOOK DEPOSITORY (the shame) and so I went in to the huge bookstore in the middle of the city, bought that, plus the new Starbound Trilogy book and another book for a friend I was seeing that day... I spent over $70... and I WORK in a bookstore... (there was literally no need other than my emotions would not chill)

I have the same problem as you, I pile up a list of the books I wanna buy and then get them all at once. being in Australia, books aren't cheap, so when I went to Hawaii at the end of last year I may or may not have bought 23 books from Barnes and Noble... I became a B&N member while there cause with the amount of money I spent, the 10% off ended up being worth it 😂 3 months later I bought over 30 books and used up all my birthday money. since then my parents put me on a ban, but the books someone keep piling up (especially from publishers). wow that was a long comment but YES I FEEL YOU TO BINGE BUYING IS A PROBLEM BUT GOSH IT FEELS GOOD. thanks for making a pretty crap day better with this video Christine 💗💗💗

I do not know if anyone else has mentioned this... or if you've found it by now... but the hardcover of City of Bones that you got is a collector's edition and in the back there is a new short story called "Awake" that is from Jace's point of view from when he first met Clary and it is beautiful.

This happened to me this year when I took a trip to Portland with my mom for my birthday. We went to Powell's City of books and I kept finding all the books I wanted to get. I exercised a little self control and only left the store with seven books. Hey, it was my birthday, and I've only bought two books from a thrift store since.

I totally have you beat, hon. :) Black Friday at Barnes & Noble, I bought like 7 or 8 books for $170 (and these books were the B&N collectibles, buy 1 and get 1 50% off). And one month I bought approximately 320 books at a single book sale.
My closest bookstore is 30-40 minutes away and I don't have a car or any way of transporting myself. So when I do go, I leave with at least seven books every time.
I have no job, no income, I'm a teen and I can not, can not stop getting books on books on books I know the feeling Christine!!!
Well as a 15 year old who doesn't have a job and obviously lives with her parents, I’m lucky enough if they let me buy one book. But once, in April of this year, I went to Barnes and Noble with my grandparents and cousins, and I bought 4 books. The grand total was like $80, and luckily I had like two leftover gift cards from Christmas along with cash, and I bought them. I bought the first two Harry Potter books in hardcover to match the rest of the series, “The Wicked Will Rise” by Danielle Paige which is the second book in the “Dorothy Must Die” series, and I bought the bind up of novellas that go with Dorothy Must Die. Needless to say, my parents weren't pleased😂
Sure for hardcover books that may be a binge but as far as soft cover goes I tend to buy 8 or so at a time.

I usually need people there with me to stop me too but over the summer my grandpas second wife said she'd by me some books. so I had about 8 books in the cart almost $100 and she told me that I could double that, I nearly had a heart attack. I bought 20 books and I promised myself that I would read all the unread books on my shelf before buying more.(loophole: unless a new book of a series comes out that I've already read for example Queen of Shadows, Library of Souls, Winter etc)

I do this all the time on Amazon, just adding books to my cart until I have like 5-10 and realize I want them all and only getting one or two is impossible! First & Then was super cute! I hope you enjoy I had no idea she was a youtuber I'll have to look her up now. I can't wait to read Winter! I still need to get Through the Dark but I can't as it's on my Christmas list and I've been banned from buying things off that list until post Christmas!

It happens to me allll the time. Like today, I bought 4 books, The Darkest Minds (which I really like so far), Legend, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and Scythe. Another time, I bought four books. The Assassin's Blade, Throne of Glass (I already read it but I wanted my own copy), I'll Give You The Sun, and Where She Went. I read all of those. I also did this like 3 other times. It happens so often I wish it didn't lol. And I really really really want that City of Bones now. Ughhh

My tip is to get books from the library if you're reading them for the first time. That way you can read it for free, and if you didn't like it it's not a waste of money. Then, if you really like the book you can buy it, or even better, ask for it for your birthday (or any other gift-giving occasions.)
I literally almost did that today... But I told myself, "I am getting this book (points at Bane Chronicles) on Amazon and it's hardcover and it's cheaper. And I'm getting these books (points at the Raven Cycle) in a box set hardcover and probably on Amazon at a later date. And this other one that isn't even in the store I want it hardcover, which is on Amazon." I just kept telling myself not to go on Amazon until I get paid... So I ended up only getting two and I felt good about it.
i did this yesterday. i went to dymocks to buy illuminae and i came home with: the selection, city of bones, a monster calls (the special edition graphic novel) and perks of being a wallflower. AND TO TOP IT OFF id just bought red queen, a million worlds with you and holding up the universe a couple of days before. *falls of cliff*
I'm going to have to move in another year or so.... And I have 3 bookshelves, almost full.... That'll be so much fun to pack up. Yay. And since my rooms downstairs I'll have to carry the boxes up the stairs
