I stand by what I’ve said: Wes Borland is still to this day one of the most unique guitar players out there. His use of effects to benefit the song as a whole is a skill that is sorely missed amongst most modern guitarists (myself included). Loved this video bro!
The plug in of my dreams! I love that Wes got his flowers with this too. Dude has always been so humble on his ability, but he’s absolutely one of my favorite guitarists of all time! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
👏 thank you for giving one of my musical heroes a proper description! He deserves it. He is a very creative artist that does get overlooked because of the band. Thank you! 🤘🏼👽💜
A lot of Purists whine and complain that Nu Metal watered-down True Metal, and they couldn't be more wrong. Nu Metal achieved a lot of great things for Metal guitar. It brought a down-tuned percussive syncopated groove riffing style that really captures the primal Human anger and aggression we all have. That's what largely made it popular. Simple, Heavy, and effective. Wheter they like it or not, Nu Metal brought a lot of newcomers such as you and me into Metal. I wouldn't have gotten into more extreme metal stuff if it wasn't for Nu Metal and that is why it will always be Metal in my book.
I agree. There actually was quite a lot of creativity that came from Nu metal bands despite the narrative they were all bland and boring and sounded the same.
giong to be real Jami, loved this vid. not just because i am a huge limp bizkit and wes fan, but i also love the change in the video format. imo, this is def one of the best vids youve done in quite a while now and i love the new approach. wasnt just a "let me put a camera in front of me and play some riffs real quick." it was informative, entertaining, and just wanted to let you know that as a viewer, i appreciate the effort. inspired me to get back to creating vids again for sure
Thanks for doing a realistic review i been buying stl products for years ever since they launched and i could of used alot of this to help get going. So appreciate you honestly.
What a really nice and good faithed description of Wes and numetal in general. Also a top notch demo. Not only showcasing the plug-ins intended purpose, but going above that and doing an entire numetal demo. So many classic numetal bangers. I feel like getting more technical turned a lot of us into boomers about numetal. Some bands like Mudvayne have kind of escaped that though...probably because theyre God-tier awesome but thats just imo lol. Well done, Jamie!
This was great, but you got a sub as soon as I got to 36 Crazyfists. Such a good song/album. More importantly, this video was great. Love how you really put this plugin through its paces.
I don't care what anyone says Limp Bizkit is one of the greatest bands of all time and made a huge contribution to music being one of the first bands to actually blend rap and metal well. They were way ahead of their time and Wes is one hell of a guitarist and say what you will about Fred but as a front man he's pretty damn good to. Nu metal as a whole gets hate for no good reason but it's still around and you can't say the same thing about alot of bs genres that have come and gone
Oh man hearing you play spineshank made my day. I grew up in this era of music and still to this day very people i know, know who spineshank is. they know linkin park, static-x, the big bands of that time but the smaller ones like spineshank and all got overlooked. Now I need to get a DAW and this plug in and start learning guitar again just cause of this video :D
The proper bass line and tone is really what makes those tones sound so heavy. I remember one of my naive uneducated buddies was after the heavy Slipknot guitar tone and went and tried out a Rivera amp and was not convinced. He was in denial when me and another friend tried to tell him that half of the heavy tone was the bass guitar tone and the way it is mixed on the album and that he would never get that heavy tone with guitar gear alone.
Anyone can say what they want about limp bizkit but one things for sure is no one can come close to Wes Borlands originality and creativity Cmon STL we need a head an Munky of koRn complete with pedals an amp modeling
Even though Bizkits are a joke of a band artistically speaking but John Otto is one of the best drummers in the industry, as Sam Rivers is one of the best bassists, as, of course, Wes Borland is one of the best guitarists at the moment! Period. Those Dudes really worth every bit of admiration as Pro Musicians, Recording Artists and Live Performers👍
Great demo ! Really dig it. Funny thing is Metallica in their trash era mostly recorded t75 loaded Marshall Cabs. Only in the 90s they started using all mesa cabs with v30.
" a genre lacking innovation" bro what? Name another band that sounded like Korn, Deftones or system of a down before their existence? Also limp Bizkit is absolutely not hated right now. They are viral on TikTok along with Deftones and Korn with gen Z selling out their shows.
some would say "numetal was a genre lacking in innovation" but hopefully what i said in this entire video proves that theory wrong. yeh? or did that not come across properly. "Also limp Bizkit is absolutely not hated right now" i didnt say they were. im talking about the 90s/00s. when i was growing up and limp bizkit was a dirty word...
Glad to see him finally getting recognized. I stand by $3 Dollar Bill being one of the most underrated albums of the '90's. Every time I listen to it I am immediately brought back to playing House of The Dead 2 on Dreamcast 🤣
@@JamieSlays I was just saying idk why they never did instead of Cory Wong. I also don't dig STLs sims for some reason. Trialed for a majority of their artist series ect and just wasn't a fan. Would have liked for neural to get on it. But yeah I'm fully aware they have one..I got the email, Ive seen your video. Thanks for stating the obvious lol
This was such a fun video to make. Thank you again to my main man @unluckyxviiaudio for mixing both medleys!!😊
What did you use for the drowning pool bodies section ?

Yay! I’m glad you like it
Awesome video Jamie. Love the Nu Metal History lesson as well. What a time to be alive in the late 90s to 2000s.
Yeah!!! My favourite genre?
Appreciate the additional effort you put into this video. We can tell!
Thank you! It’s been an effort haha
I love LB and I heard the best way to describe them to ppl who don’t like them. Think of LB as an Art Project led by Wes and it makes sense.
Glad to see another plugin with the JC120, the helix introduced me to it and it seems like that’s been the only one for ages.
👏 thank you for giving one of my musical heroes a proper description! He deserves it. He is a very creative artist that does get overlooked because of the band. Thank you! 🤘🏼👽💜

It’s awesome man, almost all of them are in some way admitting they enjoyed nu metal once they have matured haha

FINALLY! A plugin with a JC-120 in it!
Yessss exactly!! Instant Metallica tone!
@@JamieSlays Now to blend it with the Mercurial Re-Axis

I am definitely picking this up! Great demo 🤘🏼
Long overdue! So happy Wes is getting the recognition he deserves and we can all enjoy these awesome plugins 🤘🏼🔥
its been so long since i heard those riffs. i'm a teenager again!

I just bought it. Cant wait to try it out. Big fan of Wes.
Monster wasn't even around back when Limp Bizkit was popular
Dude every musician in LB is top tier, people don’t recognize that

The band is great, the lyrical content is what holds them back. Great drums bass and guitar.
Very very good 🤘🏿
im a big fan of the newer editing style you're going for with the vids these days !

The problem with LB are the lyrics, not the music, the music it is actually awesome
My hopes to get album accurate chocolate starfish tones were correct
pog
This sounds really great 😃 all the music i grew up listening to.
Nice my dude threw some Breaking Ben in there ❤️🤘 nice work bro!!!
Thank you!!!

Very well made video
Wes Borland is an absolute underrated genius and the best thing about limb bizkit tbh
sounds great
Damn good demo!
Those lemonade monsters 🤌🤌🤌
It sounds really amazing! What would you say is better this plugin or the Neural DSP products?
I don’t want to cover myself in black body paint either 😂
you did bloody well, next to Rob Arnold.....
Thanks :) I think the plugin sounds great!!
Great choices on Nu-Metal bands to demo. Except for Linkin Park and Breaking Ben
Buying it
Industry needs creativity. The end user of music just needs sound. Nu-Metal is creativity and skill too.
Yer wes borland
Also the bass in your mix. What is it?
I think it is submission audio euro bass :)
Idk why Neural hasnt done one for Wes..

“How to limp bizkit in 30 seconds”
You forget to add a bottle of ruffies.
You got it right: limp bizkit represents the downfall of metal overall
Sounds like Limp Bizkit, unfortunately. Maybe they'll get it right next time lol
😂
Just a terrible video… IYKYK
I do not know lol
