I had an '04 Chevrolet Epica--I'm in Canada. Wish I still had it! Great ride, just right. Lovely interior and the silky smooth 2.5 inline 6. I occasionally see one on the road, and there's good used ones. But I'm scared about not being able to get parts! I see lots of carryover to this generation. All that seems different is an updated dash, and the weird styling in front of and behind the doors. Still uses the same engine and transmission and the doors. But the sheet metal in front of and behind the doors is...unfortunate. IMHO the previous generation was much better looking. If anyone could post about where they're getting parts, engines and transmissions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
@Clive Hanuschak. I live in Europe and it's harder to order parts because I order from Rockauto. You have everything there. Either as Epica or Suzuki Verona it is practically the same car, just the ignition coils are little different but engine and auto transmission is the same.
own one for 3 years now, and i love it, nice and quiet but when you put the pedal to the metal.....it becomes a quit fast realy big car that is pretty fast....and still after 3 years nothing wrong with the car
Thanks for the video. I have the 2009 restyled model with 2.0 inline 6 engine and I agree with you. Great car with a soul. I enjoy traveling for long distances. Great boot spaces, it has everything you need.
@@snggarageeng Yes I know the Magnus but in Macedonia we don't have it as a model. I have oil consumption problems. This week I replaced the engine, the first one had 250.000 with approximately 0.5-1 liter per 1000 km consumption. I tried different oils but I think my biggest mistake was the GM oil which destroyed my engine. There are a lot of non original oils in our market so at the end I stick with Mannol. The new engine is still testing with my mechanic added 5w40 Total 9000 and for now I think I will continue with it. The reason my first engine failed was a faulty Wix oil filter which unscrewed itself during driving and lost all oil in a matter of minutes. I stopped the car, but I think It had damage to it. Piston rings coked and after that my troubles began with oil consumption ranging from 4-5 liters per 1000 km. Tried everything with decoking process and had little success with Bluechem 2 in 1 Carbon cleaner but after some km it started to have a piston knock and had the valve broken. I don't know if it was related to the oil filter problems but it was time to replace the engine.
I am in Australia and I own the 2009 holden epica 2.0l turbo diesel and its an amazing car so comfy, quiet never and issue. Safe and reliable best car!
Is that unusual transverse six a smooth tractable pleasant sounding motor? British Leyland's Australian subsidiary Leyland Australia built such a car in early 70s called the Austin Tasman and Austin Kimberley in it's Zetland plant in Sydney. Very short lived.
@@snggarageeng my car is old and has alot of mileage but i love that car for sure and im afraid it will destroy my engine. I asked my mechanic and he said he doesnt know whats wrong. It could be just oil sensor. But he said he dont want to touch my engine cuz it will cost me too much and i should buy another car,but i just love this car 😔
@@tinaleedarkness9747 if the engine is ok, the problem is really easy. The Epica has oil sensor near the oil filter and when the sensor or the wire is not placed as it should it flashes or it starts to leak oil from it. It is a known issue. The other issue is the oil filter gasket which is advisable to replace it with the sensor

Okay i have a question. I have Epica and when car heats up check oil lamp shows. Any ideas why? It has new oil and filter
