    This is the cautionary tale that demonstrates the danger of simply believing an accusation, without following through on the time honored procedural steps that give US liberty and justice for all!
    To Brian Banks, Peace and Blessings hereafter!

    Everything I hear this story, I get angry and upset on how this man's life was ruined because of a lie by one girl and then expects "bygones by Bygones" afterwards. I find his story and him to be remarkable!

    So inspiring and uplifting. Unimaginable how badly he was treated and more so how he was able to keep standing and fighting for his freedom.

    I think the people that lie and have someone arrested should spend time in jail also. 😖

      I would settle for there being a "false accuser registry."

  • @paulmartin6296
    @paulmartin6296 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The sad but undeniable truth is that there are tens of thousands of men in jail or prison right now under these same circumstances.

    Why is the false accuser free? She should be in prison!

    • @HereAndNowWithHabiba

      Yes, she is. She basically she went into hiding. Shortly after he was sentenced, she and her mom successfully sued the school district (for creating an "unsafe environment:, which she said at the time led to her attack) was awarded $1.5 million. She received an initial payment of $750,000 and was due a second similar payment later. After Brian's exoneration, she was ordered by the court, in June 2013, to repay the settlement as well as attorney's fees, interest and punitive damage, for a total of $2.6 million. The latest update I read mentioned that she still owes the court.

    Just heart breaking still to me. When They See Us, now Brian Banks. One admitted he was the only one that did the crime and the other had to admit she lied, after years of ruining people lives. SMDH!! She knows why she lied and it probably involves someone else she protected. Nothing about his case should have led to this rush to judgement results.

      This movie is changing lives. A spirit of resiliency starts with our outlook. If this film saves one innocent man, was it a waste? “Hope is for the Hopeful.”
