If there is a heaven for me when I die, it's a place called "1985" where every year is 1985 in a small town with a movie theater, arcade, and burger joint that's open 24/7, and every day is Friday and Saturday. And there a radio tower pumping out the Top-40 during the day and then tunes like this video at night.
That's basically "San Junipero" from Black Mirror. YOU MUST WATCH IT!! It's a very positive, not scary episode.

I agree with you, but it could be better tho. In my opinion there should be two tracklists the upper with timestamps and second tracklist with links because you need to scroll down trough this long list when you want to skip track.
I like your idea, but I think for anything below 40 tracks the scrolling won't be too bad. Also, having everything in one place puts more emphasis on the soundcloud and bandcamp links, which makes it clear that while it's great that we're all here chilling to this music, we should really go support the artists as well. If the links are in a second list below, people might be more likely to ignore them.
that's why I put only SC and BC links, otherwise the list would be too long and other links can be found on the SC profiles. And I think putting the links in a second list below would make them go unseen... At least that's what I thought for myself when seeing this on other channels

Synthwave descended in early-mid 2010 ths from vaporvawe. Vaporwave in its own descends from webpunk subculture (late 200x), alongside other lo-fi *vawes and witch house.
@@Aviatorchik - Gary Numan ~ Cars 1979 is one example from the 70's... The group Tangerine Dream 1967 is another artist.... It's where it all started. "Synthetic music", "synthwave", "synthpop", etc all started in the 60's and evolved as defined by those who listened to it.
I get nostalgic at radio towers, especially the ones with the blinking red lights at the top.
One winter night in 2006-7 as my family was packing up to move I stared out my bedroom window one last time.
See my apartment was mostly surrounded by woods so there wasn't much light pollution, anyway as I was staring out I saw this lonely radio tower, just flashing away.
About 20 minutes later I was called as my family locked the door one last time.
Till this day when I am driving at night and see one of these radio towers I think about that moment.

I used to be afraid of those lights cause they looked like glowing red eyes of a monster at night. Now I just miss seeing them out my window.

People are always so stressed. Job interviews, tests, driving lessons, growing up children. This video makes me feel like it's all a gift. You can get through everything in a peaceful, non stressful way. You just have to rewire your brain to be relaxed all the time. Woah.

I remember holding her hand as we walked to this view at night, telling her about the mythological stories behind the constellations and why Orion is my favorite. She hadn't seen much of the stars before because of the light pollution where she was from.
She dumped me on March 11th, 2019 at around 4:25pm.
Now she's a distant memory.
At this point, it feels like she almost never existed, like it was only a dream.
We forget most of our dreams instantly. This is one I'm going to remember.

I think I stumbled upon the reason why Synthwave hits me deep. It's a music genre that promotes hope, and helps me envision a healthy, love and friendship-filled future. I wish I had a group of people to hang out with that had the same disposition.

I have to say I was blessed to spend my late teens and early 20's during the 80's
90's kid here. I absolutely learned to appreciate the 80's a lot more after buying my now favorite car ever. My 1986 Pontiac Fiero. It is definitely a time capsule to the 80's. Now I drive everywhere in it listening to this. Such an amazing vibe

The 80s are all about nostalgia. It makes me sad for lost times but also happy. Happy from the fact that I get turned back in time, a time where your whole life is ahead of you. There is something magic about the 80s, even if you were born much later.
Why do these comments make me feel so sad and melancholic but hopeful at the same time?
I wish I could time travel with you guys, to somewhere in the 80's, watch a sunset near a radio tower, far away from the big cities, listening to this and telling each other stories that we will inevitably forget. Then we would come back to the exact moment we left, and our lives would go on like nothing happened.
I really wish I could do that.

Perhaps because you've become so disenchanted with the world as you know it today, even thought you're only very young. you wish and hope for something more, something better that once existed that you never had the chance to experience, but long to be able to. well my friend, I dont blame you. I'm a lot older than you at 58, and was lucky enough to have lived back in those days you yearn for. and while they still had their problems, things were so much better in so many ways. I wont go into all of it, it would take too long, but all I will say to you, is that if you long for something more, then set your sights on it. this world is no longer the place it once used to be and that is why, even with all the advances we have made over the last 30 years or so we wish we could go back, and for good reason. perhaps it should be a turning point and a wake up call for us all.

I was a kid in the 80s, and the 80s were not like what 80's nostalgia would make u think. I don't remember any of this 80s nostalgia stuff from the 80's at all. I love it all, LOVE synthwave - but it didnt exist back then. The 80s were hanna barbara cartoons and over processed foods and racist sitcoms. WHat this song invokes in our minds is not what the 80s were like, at all.
Whenever I listen to mixes like these I think of The Breakfast Club, Goonies, Labyrinth, and Time Bandits. What I wouldn't give to be a kid in the 80s again!

I'm listening synthwave and this mix all over my shift and now is 5h40am. Memories comes and memory goes... All my life is passing through my mind and I really don't understand what is the sense to live like robot, work like hell to pay bills and buy things to show for people that we doesn't like. I just want to have moments with people that I love but it's pretty hard to change their minds, make them see this reality...

I have an absolute soft spot for music that emotionally touches you without necessarily using lyrics. So far the best genres I know of that have this ability are atmospheric black metal, dream pop and synthwave. I remember the later half of the 90s, when the 80s were despised, laughed at, and I thought everyone was crazy. Everybody seemed so fake to me. Now, it's like there's this fondness for it, and I'm like, where were you in 1998?

1998: Teaching High School German and hating it. Went on to work for AIG Insurance and was much happier. 1988 = Junior year of High School.
I was 9 years old and on the pre last class of elementary school in Thessaloniki, Greece. I remember a autumn evening taking the bus with my mom and looking the small forest upon the hill, as the sun slowly went down, good times!!!

This kind of music brings me back to a time I cant describe nor really remember. It feels relaxing and like home like something I miss. Like overcramped home and chaotic family like warmth and neon dark light and old TV. Back when you had to get up to turn the TV on and everything. I grew up very old fashioned even tho I was born in 2003 I spent my childhood living like in the 80s and it's just nostalgic

What I would do to be 19 again. All my friends at the time were 18-20 and we all lived on our own. We all worked at a Pizza shop together in our city too. Every night when we closed, we would gather and meet up at someone's house or apartment. It would be between 8 to 15 of us at times, just hanging out and experiencing life. Sometimes we would leave at 2 a.m. just to adventure through the streets, or drive together on the freeways. Nobody wanted to go home, but at the same time we did because then we could come back tomorrow and do it again. I turn 25 this year, and those memories seem like lightyears away. Time moves quick, a lot faster than you actually expect it to. I just wish everyone well now, and I hope they come back here to reminisce too.

The 80s and 90s kind of blended together in many ways. They had a very similar feel - the 90s were just a little more high-tech. We're reminiscing more than just a decade - we're reminiscing an exciting way of life... a lost way of life...
It makes me want to hop in my car with this playing on a warm summers night and go for a drive along the beachfront..just chilling..feeling the warm breeze and forgetting the shitty world we live in for a while.

Is anybody else just completely fucking lost over the fact that this music blows us back through time to a point that was nearly 4 decades ago? I don’t know about t he rest of you, but I’ve been so nostalgic as of late, perhaps its seeing all of my grandparents generation slowly crossing the rubicon ,and even as i type this next part-i find myself in disbelief that, us 80s kids are approaching (or are already) 40. It was a much simpler time and the nostalgia for those days becomes so palpable as we grow further from the child within.

Wow i first listen to this 2 years ago when i was living out my car and working at the airport. Id was living out of gyms and working on my business in the mean time. It was winter time and the nights were cold and id have a blast sittin in me sleep bag wondering about it all. This mix was my go to at the time. And listening to it again years later reminds me of that time period of my life.
