2082. The world has evolved. Those born into this generation drive futuristic cars that drive in the sky and resemble the old-days DMC DeLorean. People have come and gone. You’re driving down the sky, the lights guiding you on your way to the next Galaxy over. You have no destination, no goal, no need or want. You just feel like driving on and on. Continuing into whatever may lie ahead. The music in the background gives you a... tingling feeling... as if you’ve heard it before... You get flashbacks of a time... many years before this one... A time where... People wished they could live among the stars, and explore the “Intergalactic Highway”... But here you are, on a one way trip down the highway, many many miles above the Earth, which is only a dot in your mirror. Your souped up Delorean cruising at 88k parsecs per hour. Which, compared to some cars, is rather slow. But for you, it’s just right. *Thanks for reading, enjoy the music, and dream on.*

Andomeda is about 2.5 million years-light away and can be seen as a faint halo to the naked eye. So this means this car is playing retrowave approx. 2 million years into the future.
I liked this comment, but the Andromeda galaxy isn't travelling toward the Milky Way galaxy at the speed of light. The Andromeda galaxy would still appear very faint and very far away in 2 million years time. The collision of the two galaxies is predicted to happen approximately 4.5 billion years from now, or to put it another way, the collision will happen as far into the future as our solar system's birth is in our past. So, this car is playing retrowave close to 4 billion years in the future.
So, one light(edit: year) is about 5.88 trillion miles. 2.5 million x 5.88 trillion. Around 15 quintillion miles (15 with 18 zeros following it...15,000,000,000,000,000,000.) Oh and Andromeda is moving towards us at around 68 miles per second. So, as @FractalBoy says, it's possibly we could see a collision in roughly...4 billion years.
Funnily enough I stumbled upon an article (via Google suggestions) on The Independent website that talked about how Andromeda is set to devour the Milky Way. Only 4bn+ years to go before we can say we live in the Andromeda galaxy, woot! 👍

regardless of your taste for music, sometimes our minds associate events with whatever music we may be listening to at the time. and years later when you hear that music again, it will remind you of what you were experiencing the time you first heard it.

Super grateful I was alive in the '80's even if I was just a kid/early teen. SO much of this music is like the background music at malls of the time, just sort of what was in the distance while you ate fries in the food court or waited in line for a movie. It takes me back to lazy summer afternoons after we went swimming and were going to the roller rink for pizza and rootbeer. I feel hopeful again listening to this music. Thank you.

Oh and Andromeda is moving towards us at around 68 miles per second.
Teleportation has not been discovered on your planet?
Sure if Andromeda were that close to Earth, its gravity would be influencing a great deal of the planet's physics, would it not?
"Asthenic" definition,
Ruler of the Synthwave, Retrowave, and Chillwave Kingdoms.
If anyone wants the literal definition its "relating to asthenia" which is "abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy"
Hope you're doing well, Asthenic
A sort of cryptic malaise I like
Synthwave and Chillstep is the kind of music I can turn on, get lost in, and just freely let my body move to the music. Nothing beats the freedom of movement and expressing oneself. No lying to your body. Just being wild and free.
I could drive down that road forever listening to this music. I fall asleep to it almost every night
I listen to this while going to work by subway. Help me with my anxiety and claustrophobia.
I can relate, this has been my go to for anxiety and insomnia for about a month now.
Forgive your mother and return to the father. Be still and know God
Subway. Eat fresh.
that's a tough gig. you're courageous. thx for that comment. bless you.
The fact that awesome Vaporwave mixes like this are still being made till this day is one of many reasons I’ve still stuck by the Vaporwave community
Brings me back, everytime 🎉
This music turns every moment of my life into a classic 80’s movie and that’s okay with me.
Music like this just calms me down and makes me feel good. It’s like the music melts everything bad away and just reveals that life really is worth it.
@@sumemodude I agree as the creator of this genre. That was my purpose.
take me back to the 80s
This has to be the most positive and warm comments section on all of youtube. Nice to see!
All of these chill synthwave mixes have the coziest comment sections. Especially Asthenic's
I wish I could float into space aimlessly while listening to music like this. Such a carefree thought.
I mean, what we can do is create a self-sustaining ship with a artificial grav ring, a garden, and thermal-nuclear energy power source.
you can. go to a sensory deprivation chamber with some music in your ears. if youre really adventurous you can take a bit of psychedelics first
This music transports me to a futuristic universe, where time does not exist, only you and your car remembering the good moments of your life, only you and already endlessly traveling the long universal streets,With new landscapes every time
This mix is so legendary, you literally hear these tracks on every little synthwave channel
When I was a kid, I always had a love of night-time car journeys with my family whenever we went to some holiday place. Thanks for bringing me back to those feelings 😊
I had this video on repeat while studying during the last two years of college. Safe to say this playlist helped me earn my degree. Thanks Asthenic!
1 year left
I wonder if, in the future - when we have flying cars, British people will drive on the left-hand side of the sky...
ahaha this is a great thought!
I think it might make sense to have one directional flow above or below the other, rather than side by side.
Why am I even thinking about this? 😆
Well, my guess is, given their history, that yes. They will STILL be a backwards people.
You got that right! I mean left! < British
@@thediamonddust That is I believe the idea- that's why flying cars will ease traffic, because to merge lanes you simply move downwards. It stops the issues of people doing things like entering the wrong lane, as well.
I'm eager to connect with more individuals who share a passion for this music in the real world. It's a desire to expand my circle, to interact with those who resonate with these rhythms, and to have genuine conversations about our shared love for this genre. If you're out there, I'm excited to discover more kindred spirits in the realm of this beautiful music ♥
What I believe makes Asthenic stand out aside from coherent mixes and great choice of tracks is the mastering. The volume differences between songs are very small. This makes it great for workouts as you don't have to make volume adjustments every other set. Thanks Asthenic!
Imagine if the sky was actually like that at night 🖤
It kinda does, we just can't see it most places because of light pollution :/
images.app.goo.gl/4thHienZPyn5f3Uw5
Crystal clear like that would be mesmerizing.
Get yourself binoculars with a large aperture by a clear night remote from city lights and you'll be good
Asthenic, oh okay thanks! It’s going to beautiful 😊
@@Zanosuke like that? did you ever saw it?
That's some damn fine attention to detail that the street lights are reflected in the side and rear view mirrors.
Negatives are the one who don't drive at Night
I even take a shower with this master peace
my aunt recently passed and the first song was playing as i was looking back at photos and it made me realize how precious life is and how memories we have of loved ones outweigh the pain of having lost them. love this type of spiritual/upbeat music
regardless of your taste for music, sometimes our minds associate events with whatever music we may be listening to at the time. and years later when you hear that music again, it will remind you of what you were experiencing the time you first heard it.
Okay, you outdid yourself on the visual Asthenic. I love these compilations - weekend soundtrack!
He didn't make the visual
Still the best synth mix I’ve ever heard. I keep coming back to it, puts you in a trance so chill. Best visual too. ❤
I make better tracks daily :) And not only this genre.
I have never watched this video before, nor heard the songs... so why do I have this massive wave of nostalgia come over me so intensely??
Hiraeth
This music helps cure the Big Sad
'Cause music moves us all.
legend has it this guy's still on the road...
Lolz
ahaha nice
He is. Can confirm.
Okay these visuals with this amazing mix... All I can say is thank you Asthenic!
GE PLAYER I believe it will be more than 2000 years before that happens. I could be wrong though. Either way it will be an amazing and beautiful sight to behold.
@GE PLAYER Four billion years from now.
If there wasnt so much light pollution on the earth you could prob see this shit, just not as close.
TylerRajeski no you wouldn’t be able to.
TylerRajeski not with the naked eye at least.
This has literally been the soundtrack to my studying throughout the Coronavirus outbreak. Having not left my home now since the 27th of March I felt as if I had started going insane but discovering this music has chilled me right out :*
Damn bro that’s crazy, you should go out and get some sun and nature.
I went to the park or backpacking almost everyday...
I am trying so hard to get my degree in college. The work is really hard, but listening to mixes like this while I do work makes me actually enjoy it
It's all about the ride, not the destination.
May your degree serve you well after obtaining it.
@@Caboose30 well said
I wish I had a fraction of that drive and motivation.
thanks for including me :) great mix
best producer in westside
still not better than lil cumstain
@@KryptarYT bruh
Thanks so much for including me in this, great mix my dude!
Shammy awesome tune!!
@@dcash7018 Thank you so much!
Like someone else said,
"Born too late to explore the oceans and world; Born too early to map the stars and Galaxy."
But..
Born at just the right time to meet the woman I love, and have the family that supports me, and the world I can change if I try.
This mix is perfection and this comment section is giving me faith in humanity.
In love with the visual, fits the music perfectly!
Im leaving for Saturn tomorrow.. anyone needs a lift?
Yeah man I got this big meeting on Titan, can you make it by 0832:5507 galactic time?
@@tompeckguitar Yea me to!! I need to go there for a mission... to save the Galaxy from destruction of Caball, Vex, Taken and what not... it's really important!
Count me in man! BTW could you drop me of on Mars? Them demons ain't gonna kill themselves ;)
Can I get a lift? You can can just shoot me out on the way to hit Europa. I'll bring a lawn chair and a giant doobie and just chill with the views
Just swoop me some space meth
я кончил, спасибо за музыку созданную богом и не менее атмосферную заставку выполненную с 100% единым кадром, залип на пол часа, а потом понял что спать нужно, я вас люблю
The bass in Pongman's Oxygen is so good. Love that deep growly sound.
I've been listening to this on repeat for two weeks straight now while I work. This mix is breathtaking, thank you.
YOURE BREATHTAKING
I like when youtube randomly takes me to musics like this, thanks
Jasper De Ceuster - Nowhere has some truly beautiful sounds. Sounds that make everything in the world seem right, even if just for a second.
JDC is one of my favorites in this genre, completely agree with you! Cheers!
I bought that song for those exact reasons. I own it forever.
I actually own ALL of the songs on this entire playlist.
Thank you.
the first song is something else, just feels different.
@Space Man yeah the final track was a perfect final track
Watching this is truly mesmerizing. I know someone out there in the cosmos is doing this as we speak.
That's probably the coolest visual I've ever seen for a mix. I could watch that for eternity.
I don't know which is better - the music or that awesome visual of someone driving through this futuristic roadway.
People who listen to this kind of music are a dictionary definition of the world relaxed

full screen and lights out with this one. Just cruising through space...
FUN FACT:
This is very likely how our night sky will actually look like in about 4 billion years. The galaxy we'll be looking at is Andromeda, currently ~2.5 million light years away from us, on a collision course with our galaxy, the Milky Way.
Good night.
I like how everyone in this section of music is chill af and supportive for everything. No trolls, no poisonous people.
Well for those in the far, far, future I envy that I can't view this sky for myself
Then, I'll have checked your comment 4 billion years later
Sick
How can that be a fact? nobody can possibly know what will happen in 4 billion years. That's merely just a theory.
Played this yesterday during a cyberpunk roleplaying session! Keep it up.
I'm working on a comic project that takes place in a sci-fi era, and this music is really helping me reduce stress and inspiring me tokeep pushing on. I thank you for your time in making this mix! :)
This is what got me into Synthwave. First mix I stumbled upon, right after you posted it. I'll never forget this! Thank you for posting!
This is the best kinda music to leave running in the background playing games
Love to fall asleep on a tram while lissining to this and then wake up 5 stations ahead where I was suppose to be great music
Pongman - Oxygen = pure refreshment
Being around the 80's, this brings so much nostalgia. I listen to the music now and I realize that it's moved past my generation . But I will forever hold this in my heart. Thank You for this, my daughter showed me this amazing compilation and I couldn't be more thankful for it.
My favourite 80s Synthwave mix on here combined with my Favourite 80s Video Art as well. Masterpiece!
To the memory of a future blended with the past that never was!
Probably the best synth wave mix by far that I’ve heard. So relaxing yet it keeps me going. Beautiful, thank you! 💕💕💕
Easily one of the best mixes I've ever heard. So perfect for such a variety of things! Working, studying, relaxing, etc. Thank you so much.
This mix helped get through some of the toughest moments in life. Whether it was uni, work, relationships, or life in general, this mix (combined with VISUALDON's beautiful visual) was there to grant me a form of peace I wouldn't find elsewhere.
This isn't a song you search for this is a song that searches for you.
Ur right it just came into my recommendation today like 2 hours ago. I feel like I'm traveling through time with this music 🎶
that first ad placement needs to meet me outside.
2 and a half years and this mix still hits the spot. Thank you algorithm for bringing this back to me. Thank you Asthenic for assembling this cornucopia of synth.
Man, imagine if roads looked like this irl
I'd become a nomad for sure. Freaking awesome roads
There are beautiful roads in our reality though
this type of setting would be sick in a game. streets are see through and its just galaxies, stars and planets. buildings are neon. so many ideas. sounds sick
I listen to this mix on repeat for all my major assignments, this is my sixth one im doing it with. Its not too loud and distracting, but its also got a beat that pushes me to work harder and faster until im finished. This is a very special mix as it has helped me through all those hard tasks, thank you so much x
Incredible chillwave mix! Thanks Asthenic. This sound embodies the feeling I had during stargazing last night, while camping in Northern California.
This represents a certain feeling so perfectly. Audio and visually. Kudos. Our future is going to be so amazing. Keep the foot on the pedal this way.
This music video is one of the internet check points where people come to tell their stories and dreams and everyone is supportive.
Last year I suffered from depression and had suicidal thoughts, but every time I listened to this kind of music with all the positive comments it really helped me a lot and made me realized that happiness is there I just gotta reach for it. Now I’m fine loving life and lost a lot of weight, to everyone who is depressed, your not alone, talk to someone anybody and start living your lofe
We may speak different languages, but music is a language we all understand
That's a beautiful thing to think about :)
