Perfect timing, my grandson just helped me to pick a box full of these for me to photograph. I love using them. I usually do water drops and reflections . My plan was to do a simple one of him blowing them but I saw a poster the other day of what you have just done, it cost £49 so I thought I can do that!!! Thank you so much for showing me how. Happy days ❤
@@GavinHoey You said you have other cats and a dog. I do pet photography and shoot at the local shelter. If I can take pics of those adoptable animals some of which are very shy I'm sure you can do a photoshoot of at least one of your pets. I would absolutely love to see that and I'm sure other pet photographers would too. At least give it some thought.
Jake with his white socks. Our Ragdoll passed away before she was two. Miss her every day. Our Border Collie is the most wonderful animal. Btw, love the photographic content, as always.
x-h2 has a magnify feature. With other Fujifilm cameras it was a click on rear wheel, very convenient. Since x-h2 does not have a click there, you can assign it to any button. I am both Olympus (my absolute favorite camera system) and X system user.
Fuji XH-2 :) My camera of choice as well. Would love to know what you used to teather the camera. I use lightroom and it just does not work well for me :(
Have a cat portrait shoot sometime. That would be fun😂. My rescue black cat does not like to be photographed but I do it all the time anyway. You have Polly I use my cat baby. lol
Gavin, regarding the names of various Flashpoint flashes, I think only the 200/200 Pro are eVOLV and all the rest are XPLOR. Your guess is as good as mine why the 200 was singled out.
Seeing this afterthe live from Mar del Plata, Argentina love ur tutorials ❤❤ one dogue de bordeaux Zeus and younger bullmastiff Apollo he's had to photograph, won't stay still for portraits 😂😂😃😃
@@GavinHoey Yeah, I have to pick and choose which ones I lose sleep over, but the worst part is I miss a lot of them because I don't know they are on...
Hi from the "recording people". About the pets... My wife has a bear 😊 About the dandelions and right-to-left : years of Larousse usage gives you a definite opinion about that... About the halo : it might come from your Krush stroke in lightroom at the beginning. About the camera : if you have the occasion to try a Nikon z8 one day, I'd like your honest opinion about that. TIA. About the camera on Sam/Freya/the cat : I want to say that for ages, but it would be more flattering if positioned lower ; the drone angle of view is a bit weird, tbh.
A bear as a pet, blimey! I totally spotted the bright spot "halo" a few moments AFTER we stopped the live stream 🤦♂️ Not tried any Nikon cameras, open to offers if anyone from Nikon UK wants to reach out 😉
Hi Gavin. Loved the video! As always. You are a master teacher. I find your videos informative and fun. I need your help and advice please. What lighting do you use to light your set (not the flashes in the sessions , but your "ambient light" which you use to allow the video to be exposed correctly) and which cameras/settings do you use to record the video. It would really help me if you could let me know. Many thanks in advance. Keep up the good work. Andy
Hi Andy. Thanks for the kind words. We currently run a single 300w Bi-Colour LED from Nanlite as our studio illumination. It's bounced off of the white ceiling for an even(ish) look. Filming is mostly done at 4K 30fps in a flat profile. I hope that helps.
@@GavinHoey Hi Gavin. Many, many thanks for your precise reply and for being so quick! You exceed yourself reputation daily! That is very useful to know. I am trying to get an even coverage for BTS studio videos in my small home studio with a very low ceiling so your information will help me enormously, especially bouncing the led off of the ceiling. I hope you don't mind if I mention how helpful you have been and how useful and interesting I find your channel in my next videos. If you do mind, please let me know and I will keep mum! Keep up the excellent work. Take care and be safe. Andy
Session starts at 9:07 Enjoy the fun 😁

Thanks David 👍
Love to see the whole team on here. You make learning fun. Hi from new zealand Gav
Thanks for sharing! When are you going to do a photoshoot with your pets? I would love to see that 🙂
It's not that Jake is photo shy, he's more photo intolerant 🐈⬛

Dear Cat can come and live with me any ole time he wants - he'd be sooo spoiled! 🤗
Thank you but don't worry, he's VERY a very spoilt cat already 😺
I can see he is. Please just give him a big cuddle from me, thanks Gavin. I'm just a big softie where animals are concerned. 😺

Me too but Jake (our cat) is a lot less enthusiastic 🐈⬛

I just got XH2 this week and I’ve done a lot of researches before 😅 very happy now
No problem catching the falling seeds with pro capture 👍
Love all the cat randomness 😂

Trust me Karen we've tried. Sadly Jake is not just camera shy, he's camera averse 🐈⬛

Yes in Australia
I missed the live I had the time incorrect . Aghhh. But watching now
thank you Gavin
Thank you for your new video, Gavin. Where i can find the small c-stand, where your wooden box is attached?

You should do a pet-photography video starring Jake.
Jake's not keen on having his picture taken, trust me we've tried 🐈⬛
Let’s see more of Jake! We lost our cat of 18 years very similar but without the white paws last month 😿
Jake's a bit camera shy but we'll see what we can do 😺

I have a cat as well and she’ll definitely jump in front of the lenses if I was taking photos 😂
The Adorama episode this Thursday will be 4AM on Friday in eastern Australia
Yeah, that's not ideal. Sorry about that.

There is a function on Fuji bodies, enough to rotate the focus ring and it automatically zoom in on to focus point

Morning all from Brisbane
Started the rewatch, cause miss most of it by why the new camera? Thinking about a change
I'm reviewing some opinions for portraits 👍
I created the exact same picture a year ago, I was just lucky it fell at the right time, and no photoshop
Oh, mine wasn't in silhouette
Watching the recording... but hey, I actually remembered the shortcut for Brush... K
Yay, if you learnt one thing it was time well spent IMHO 👍
Dandelions are pretty much perennial in Mandurah.
Cat 2 dogs and 8 birds
For the seeds, why not "select subject" and delete the background? Then you could duplicate some, move them around artfully.
Flipped feels wrong could have something to do with whether you are left or right-handed?
Is your new camera g9ii
It's a Fuji X-H2 on loan. Panasonic G9ii would be a nice option to try... maybe one day.
