    In this first lesson in this series, we start with the basics of the electrical conduction system of the heart. We cover some basic anatomy and then go in to covering the cardiac conduction pathway from start to finish.
    We make sure you explain each step along the way in order to give you a better understanding of the electrical conduction of the heart as well as how that relates to the mechanical functionality, that ultimately leads to the movement of blood through the heart and the rest of the body.
    We did reference a couple other lessons covered in a few of our other series of lessons on Hemodynamics and Shock. Those lessons are:
    The blood flow through the heart (Hemodynamics - Part 1: Cardiovascular System Anatomy): • Cardiovascular System ...
    Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Activations (Shock - Part 1: What is Shock?): • What Is Shock? | Shock...

    i've worked in a healthcare environment for many years, although not in a clinical role. i want to start making a move towards a clinical role and education (will be starting school towards an RT degree soon) but I am taking a cardiac dysrhythmia recognition class at a local hospital to try to get into a monitor tech role while i'm in school, so that i can have some clinical experience to go with my degree (as well as some flexibility while i'm in school)
    i hope i'm not getting in over my head with this, like i said not really coming from a clinical background. thank you for this introductory video. it worries me a little bit but i'm going to try my best.

    Thank you so very much. I am a software engineer currently working on medical software. We were going to simulate some ecg signals and needed a very in-depth understanding of how the signal is interpreted in order to simulate arrhythmias. Needless to say, this tutorial really helped understand the workings of the conduction system. Next I'll look into part 2 - the interpretation. Best explanation I found online. Once again, thanks a bunch.

    Would it be possible to get a video on MI and how to read a 12 lead ECG? Also, understanding what artery in the art causes changes in the leads and treatments and and precautions. Example, Like right ventricle mi you don’t give nitrates because it decreases their preload. I’m really struggling with this and you always have such a great way of explaining difficult concepts. Question... if someone has bradycardia HR of say 35-45bpm (asymptomatic, athlete) does this mean their SA node isn't working since you said the rate is 60-100?

    • @ICUAdvantage
      @ICUAdvantage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SA node is impacted by sympathetic and parasympathetic responses. These cases the patients CO is sufficient to trigger parasympathetic response and reduced rate of firing of the SA node.
