D-Day Ohio 2024 Foreign Unit Song

During World War II, there were several groups of soldiers that fought with the Germans against communism and the Soviet forces. Even though many of these people belonged to the Soviet union, they despised the Soviet system and communism in general, so they saw it as an opportunity that if they fought with the Germans, perhaps they could liberate their countries from the Soviet empire. Some of these countries included, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, and many other countries that made up the Soviet union. No matter what countries these people were from, in the Soviet eyes Russia was always going to be number one. So if you were not Russian, you were almost a second-class citizen in the Soviet systems eyes. These soldiers still carried on their traditions, including this song. Thanks to the reenactors at D-Day Ohio, who taught the crowd this song.
