      @@landylandyz758 Yes!!! It has saved me from getting toed on truck to my town which was 80km away,
      I ordered module (€20) simulator which was recommended from other video, let see if that solved the problem for good however I had experienced only second time this issue.
      May I ask you what you have done since?
      Thanks again!!!
      Kind regards. .

    Thank you, it did work have to really hit it, but I was able to get the car moving. I will share to @landrover as they have no idea how to fix the problem, and this shoe is the solenoid.

    It may also be possible turn the steering wheel hard back and forth (left and right, but mostly left) while ignition on, braking pedal down and start button pressed in
    I just saw a mechanic do it and it worked
    This, and other methods is just a temporary solution. Sooner or later it won't work at all
    I will warn against using a steering lock "emulator" to override the cars safety system. What if the steering column suddenly is locked while driving ?!

      Thank you so much for this.
      I spent $800 at a shop for them to “try” to fix the SCLM and they said they got it running again, but said it may start 3 times or 300 times but might do it again.
      It finally locked up again so I banged and banged on it but it wouldn’t start.
      This trick worked the first time. So glad I stumbled on this.

    Hi there. Hoping you can help!
    What do you mean by "whilst inserting the key." I have exposed the part, and used some force as recommended. Not working.
    Do you need to have the key in the ignition at the same time?
    Thanks in advance

      Hi Andrew. Unfortunately it doesn't always work. If the module is too past itself it will have to be replaced. I got away with tapping mine forba few weeks then ended up having to get a new one fitted and coded to the car by a Land Rover specialist. It's just a temporary fix I'm afraid that in most cases will allow you not to get stranded. Sorry to hear it didn't work on yours.

    There are places that sell a steering lock "emulator". You unplug the steering lock sensor and plug it into the little emulator box which gives an "ok" message. I have one ordered and will post if it works

      Hi Tim, did the emulator work? I got the same problem yesterday for the first time.

    • @timmiller2551
      @timmiller2551 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got the emulator, unplugged the steering lock wires and plugged the emulator in. Car wouldn't even go into check mode let alone start. There are other emulators out there and will have to think about it - was worth a try

    hey i just wonder how much you have to pay to replaced the steering column module

    • @landylandyz758
      @landylandyz758  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jose. I payed around £250 in the UK and got it replaced and coded at the Land Rover dealers.
