Grogs Crit & Hdywtdt against Kevdak in Killbox with the "That's us" - Sun Tree moment at the beginning of the Briarwood-Arc coming in hot at 2nd place. But there are so many... Pikes Flashcards for Tary... 🤣
As an old-time Critter, I can say this was a fantastic overview of c1. A fantastic way to whet the whistles of those who have been curious about the similarities and differences between the animated show and the campaign itself. Thank you.
Its interesting to think how many different directions the campaign could've gone. The many different threads the party did and didn't follow, the narrow escapes where a character death seemed imminent. I wonder how this campaign turned out in other universes
I’m here bc of bandits gate and vox I wanna undertstand the show and where it originated and I’m curious did these people creat the story while role playing and it just become super famous
@@tylerscott4619 That's exactly it! They are all professional voice actors, many of them also write or direct or produce as well. So it's easy for them to turn on the drama and emotion, and the writing could be on-par with professional television or stage dramas which doesn't happen in your everyday d&d game; that's what hooked people the most I think. Matt is the "Writer/Director" as the GM, but the players can change or create the story just as much as the GM. I bet Whitestone and Syngorn didn't exist until the players made them for their character backstories, and the GM fleshed them out and made them a part of the story. The more viewers and funding they got: the better the sets, miniatures, battle-maps, theme songs, sound effects, and stream quality which just elevated them above any other long-play D&D content at the time in my opinion. I've been watching since Campaign 1 was livestreaming and I'm reliving the awe of watching them around the tabletop when I see their characters come to life on screen!
One of the best ways to do it lol! I play it in the background when working or sometimes to fall asleep. Boy, talk about what you're hearing leading to some crazy dreams!
I listen to the videos while I work. It helps the 8 hours pass. I load up the link comments with the time stamps and pass the break and intro/ recap. 😅. Then if I do house work I listen or watch it depends what I am doing
You should have done the One Shots: Search for Grog, Search for Bob, Dallan's Closet. As those "wrap up" VM's time as PC's and after they are NPC's under Matt Mercer's control.
Awesome! I've been looking for something like this, I just watched the Vox Machina series on Prime Video and looking at the amount of content I had to go through to be up to date and start watching campaign 3 was overwhelming
this is exactly what I was looking for. I like CR a lot but I just dont have time to go through all of the campaigns to catch up. Great high level overview of what happened.
i loved the animated show and it sucks that we have to wait for next season. If i wanted to continue the story of the animated show where should i join in the critical role videos?
Episode 55 is the big umbrasyl fight so after that is best to pick up. Just as a forewarning, there will be some minor inconsistencies between the mediums as the show is not a beat for beat adaptation, but it’s pretty close so it’s not too big a deal
Great summary and structure of the video, but there is an issue with frequent popping from the recorded speech. This can remedied with getting yourself a pop filter if you haven't already. Once again, great work on this video!
I think it would awesome if they end Legend of Vox Machina with the last scene with Grog and Pike where Grog pulls the card and Ashley's internet cuts out. I hope they put that in the ending to show it was a tabletop game among friends the entire time.
Yes, for multiple reasons. Some of them being: it wasn't a good start of a show. There wasn't enough character development. There was a character that they didn't want in the show. And enough more reasons
I've watched live since before the biarwoods in C1. Speedrunning this style of media is a mistake. You Miss, and will continue to miss countless character moments (Including countless romance moments) if you continue this style. You can feel caught up more or less, but the heart, spirit, and doom for the "Ninth" play out.
What is you favorite moment from Campaign 1?
The Bathtub scene, but a close second is the love Potion prank
It is tied for me between Grog's "FIX HIM!" moment & Sam's 🐐 level attempt to save his best friend during the final bbeg battle.
Scanlan moment from the Bard's lament for sure.
Grogs Crit & Hdywtdt against Kevdak in Killbox with the "That's us" - Sun Tree moment at the beginning of the Briarwood-Arc coming in hot at 2nd place.
But there are so many... Pikes Flashcards for Tary... 🤣
"Scanlan's Counterspell"
Crit stats states Campaign 1 is 500 hours long with 30 hours of commercial breaks.
Awesome summary.
I'd love to see a similar speedrun of each chapter. That'd give a chance to dive into some of the epic & humorous moments.
They have a speed run of campaign 3 (an hour per episode) on beacon.

I have been binge watching Critical Role for the past month and I am now on episode 51 and have been averaging about 12 videos a week.
One of the best ways to do it lol! I play it in the background when working or sometimes to fall asleep. Boy, talk about what you're hearing leading to some crazy dreams!
First 17 episodes was rough to watch. But afterwards it seems they get their flow.
my problem is the time investment. I love to Critical role but i cannot find the time to watch it.

@@CharLynnWiegel Same here the timestamp comments are lifesavers.
7:14 Makin' their way

Aww perfect. I was trying to look for one for campaign 1 and 2 because I’ve only started with 3 recently! Thank you dude!
2:00 Yep, that's all of Vox Machina at the beginning of Campaign 1. Nothing seems left out...
I mean, nothing of importance.
The first several eps did get more & more awkward. I don't miss the player.
@@NerdHerdForLife While I do not miss the player, I do miss the character of Tiberius Stormwind
You, sir, are a legend and I truly commend you for your hard work. Thank you!!
Awesome! I've been looking for something like this, I just watched the Vox Machina series on Prime Video and looking at the amount of content I had to go through to be up to date and start watching campaign 3 was overwhelming
Cant wait for you to do Campaign 2! Sub well earned! Thanks for this!
Thank you so much for this. I watched the show on Amazon but this really helped explain what I watched. I am a new viewer to it can be overwhelming.
Great summary! ❤🎉 Saves me from having to re-listen to the entire thing to re-experience the memories. Please create a season 2 Speedrun 🙏🏼
I started campain 1 last november. I was caught up with campain 3 for the halloween episode this year
The black orb after the C3 apogee solstice is a lot more ominous
Great Video! Love the concept, hope you do campaign 2 and one shots
I don't think oneshots deserve but campan 2 deff
this is exactly what I was looking for. I like CR a lot but I just dont have time to go through all of the campaigns to catch up. Great high level overview of what happened.
Really wish you make a longer one, 2 hours would be great ;) but for real thanks for making vids like this 😄
i appreciate you crediting the artist
Love this, please do a campaign 2!

@@noblecrewis this video better?
The Bully soundtrack keeps bringing me back
The last season is gonna be crazy two years from now.
Great idea! Would love it if you did the same for C2 !
On campaign 1 episode 92 it’s incredible
The stock footage of that woman is always hilarious to me. Idk who she is but those generic "I'm thinking" enactments make me giggle every time.
I think Ripley said anyone killed by one of her guns' souls would belong to orthax. Does that mean he now has percys soul
Castle Greyskull ? I have the POWER!
I'm guessing the black lines going across the screen is to avoid copyright
Please do the same for campaign 3, but cut it in to 5 videos. This would be really useful for those of us that are trying to catch up.
If you sat down to watch campaign one in it's entirety, it would take 15-17 days
I’m currently watching campaign two but need to know lore of the first one for running my game in taldorei
Great summary and structure of the video, but there is an issue with frequent popping from the recorded speech. This can remedied with getting yourself a pop filter if you haven't already. Once again, great work on this video!
I watched all 3 campaings and short campeings and one shots in 2 years and 10 months.
Will probably watch this video at a later date but as crazy as it sounds I don't wanna spoil myself on the animated series which I am watching
I think it would awesome if they end Legend of Vox Machina with the last scene with Grog and Pike where Grog pulls the card and Ashley's internet cuts out. I hope they put that in the ending to show it was a tabletop game among friends the entire time.
Maybe you can do a speedrun of campaign 2?
I just started watching, I’m finally on episode 22 on C3, I watch in 1.25x also
7:19 Hi Matilda!
could you make such a speedrun for campaign 2?! 😃
This one was perfect!
Lol glad to see you are a fan of Dr Stone
My brag is speed running c1 and c2 in 2 months.
Please do 2 aswell
Wait, did the show skip over the underdark?
Yes, for multiple reasons. Some of them being: it wasn't a good start of a show. There wasn't enough character development. There was a character that they didn't want in the show. And enough more reasons
oh damn, so there's at least 4-5 seasons worth of content for the Prime show then?
Commenting for multiple interactions
Just take the total minutes of Simpson's & OnePiece, then double them lol
"reanny none"
ha ressurection the bane of death
Season 3 of the show as so better to adapt it. Godamn. Impressive
1-30 not here? Good video?!!!
Thank you my ADHD brain thank yous deeply
great video now do the Mighty Nein with "spoiler warning "
You look like Matt and Marisha's 30 year old son
Critical role more than dobles one piece length
