I don’t agree. The show is nothing without him, unfortunately. It’s easy to dislike him and I can definitely see why so many had issues with him, but the fact remains the sum was exponentially greater than its parts.
It's so evident that Opie was the lucky one the day he found Ant and not the other way around. He was a nobody when he found Ant and he was a nobody soon after Ant left.
