As an Englishman who grew up on the great Billy Connolly and then other stand ups and groups like The Goon Show, Tommy Cooper, Around The Horne, Steptoe and Son, and eventually Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey, amongst so many others, Tommy Tiernan has always been my fave living comedian after Billy Connolly. @ansionnachbeagrioga5260wouldn’t say he didn’t have the energy most of his performances you’d swear he was on cocaine he was that jumpy and lively but Tommy is what I term a localized comedian, most of his greatest sets are full of jokes most in the U.S wouldn’t get but the Irish and English would. Perfect example of this was one of his most famous sets in Ireland was then used in the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival where things were changed in some of the jokes and some left out entirely as it just wouldn’t land over there. It was still funny and he was well received but it was only half as funny as Tommy’s original unleashed set which is what made him a legend over here. In essence a lot of his jokes worked in the U.S but a lot of his best ones didn’t which made him a very good comedian over there but not the legend that he was here, maybe he wasn’t daring enough in the U.S who knows but lack of energy definitely wasn’t it in his prime at least 😅

Oh wow. I love Bill he’s my favourite comedian I’m Irish and I honestly didn’t know that Tommy was famous in America. It’s great to see two of my favourite comedians on one podcast.
Seeing Tommy Tiernan at a small bar in Cork, I literally came out saying this was the closest to Billy Connelly there is. Despite being well known in Ireland, Tommy is world class.
I was not expecting this at all and as an Irish man i thought that burr and Tommy lived in different universes who never crossed paths. For me the third person what I love about this pod cast, it doesn’t feel like an interview, but two guys sitting in pub having a chat, I know it not everyone’s cup of tea, know some people love “what you think of this”, but maybe it’s just me being 40 now and loving soft chat ,what that does not need a punch line every 20seconds but rather two people shooting the shit
I went to Bill Burr play in Dublin in June 2018. Great show. When he talked about 9/11 and the crowd would go Woo. Bill was taken aback. But think he was amazed by the reaction and loved it.
Tommy can't give up his interviewing even when he is the guest. He is a great interviewer and asks insightful questions and has no issue following a thread that was not on the "list" in order to explore an idea or thought or theory. He is doing exactly the same here and it is great

Two very contrasting people. Bill Burr a comic genius and Tommy Tiernan a complete gobshite who somehow thinks he has a deep knowledge of the human condition. He's from Meath and pretends he's West of Ireland which he ain't by a long way. Just like that other tool Hector.

This podcast was singularly the most interesting intense podcast I have ever listened to. And they were creatively buzzing. Tommy you must have Bill back to your shed emporium for Castro cigars. Bill get your ass over to misty Ireland.
Love the podcast! But just want to point out: The flight of the earls was after a 9 year long war against the English, when the Irish Earls (or Lords) Hugh O'Neill and Red Hugh O'Donnell, rebelled against the crown. These were men who had paid lip service to the English monarchy, but were secretly gathering men and material to kick the English out. Initially they had successes, and even convinced the Spanish to send an army to assist. But the Spanish army arrived in the wrong place, and the English managed to destroy them, followed by the Irish relief army that had been sent to link up. Later, when their last strongholds were under threat, the earls decided to flee Ireland to the continent, in an attempt to raise another army to free Ireland. Unfortunately, this never came to pass, with Hugh O'Neill eventually dying in Rome, and with him, the possibility of another army being raised.
'Oh man that'd be great, come down to the shed with me. From Raúl's personal stash!' What a line. I kinda forgot those two might have known each other from back in the day. That was a great hour of entertainment that I didn't want to end.

Bit late to watching this but listened to it on Spotify the day it was uploaded - was just leaving the house for a week away at work and couldn't believe my luck ! My two favourite comedians coming together, just over an hour of pure gold (granted the limerick needed a bit/gallon of polish on it) with a beautiful dynamic of Bill, clearly beyond thrilled to be sitting with his friend and fellow comedian, Tommy seizing that opportunity to, almost undetected, reverse the role and take the reigns of the interview in the way he does so seemingly effortlessly - not a barrage of questions but a delicately directed, relaxed chat. I've been lucky enough to see Tommy live in my home town, I hope I can see Bill on stage at least once in my life. Thanks for the podcast/video, a fantastic hour of the finest chat and laughter that, as well as many others I'm sure, I'm very grateful for ! Edit - Also, even though the spelling should be pretty straightforward, it's awesome to know that Tommy and I have exactly the same intonation and rhythm when telling people how to spell Tiernan ! 😅

❤😂
Oh wow. I love Bill he’s my favourite comedian I’m Irish and I honestly didn’t know that Tommy was famous in America. It’s great to see two of my favourite comedians on one podcast.
The last guest I would have expected 😂 Great to see Tommy on!
Billy Connelly is one of the greatest comedians, ever.
THE Greatest.
100 percent
It was nice hearing they were both fans of the Big Yin.😎
Seeing Tommy Tiernan at a small bar in Cork, I literally came out saying this was the closest to Billy Connelly there is. Despite being well known in Ireland, Tommy is world class.
Billy is the king for me.
Tommy takes over the interviewer role 😂
This should be a monthly thing Bill. It was a wonderful conversation ❤
Finally ❤🍀these two guys are twisted geniuses my favourites 🎉
Bill is my spirit animal.
Animal instinct 🎶 love the spirit animal vibe 👏
Omg two of my favourite funny people together talking about another legendary favourite in Billy Connolly! Thank you Bill
Bill and Tommy together this is gonna be Awsome ❤️
I was not expecting this at all and as an Irish man i thought that burr and Tommy lived in different universes who never crossed paths. For me the third person what I love about this pod cast, it doesn’t feel like an interview, but two guys sitting in pub having a chat, I know it not everyone’s cup of tea, know some people love “what you think of this”, but maybe it’s just me being 40 now and loving soft chat ,what that does not need a punch line every 20seconds but rather two people shooting the shit
When Tommy Tiernan interviewed Bill Burr on his own podcast. 😂😂😂😂
I went to Bill Burr play in Dublin in June 2018. Great show. When he talked about 9/11 and the crowd would go Woo. Bill was taken aback. But think he was amazed by the reaction and loved it.
Should've mentioned the Miami Showband and gauged the mood ;)
A genuine joy to see these two men in one room.
Never thought I'd see tommy being interviewed by Bill and I'm here for it
Holy cow, Getting Tommy Tiernan on your show is a big deal. 💪✊
Let’s go boys, two of my favourites. Viva la Tommy !!
Love seeing Billy on camera. Great guest. Hearing how you describe the luxury or whiskey and cigars is soo funny and relatable.
Tommy did a wonderful interview of Bill! 😂
Tommy can't give up his interviewing even when he is the guest. He is a great interviewer and asks insightful questions and has no issue following a thread that was not on the "list" in order to explore an idea or thought or theory. He is doing exactly the same here and it is great
Two of my favourite comedians seen Tommy last Year in Vicar Street Dublin Amazing nite nothing is held back the way it should be so funny start to finish 😂brilliant 👏 forget the critics we love it . I've watched Bill last couple of years on Social media absolutely hilarious even have the missus hooked everytime we have argument i take the knee 🤣 Best advice ever staying in the pocket bobbing and weaving 😉 Definitely be getting tickets to see Bill next time he's over 🇮🇪 💚
The Flight of the Earls was when the Ulster Irish chieftains O'Neill and O'Donnell fled went into exile prior to the plantation of Ireland
Don’t forget the poets too 😂
And they ended up in Italy, not France (maybe one of them stayed in France).
France too. I live in Galway and part of my family, the Kirwans, moved to France, with the money! Look up Kirwan Wine in France. That's us!
@@Hiram1000 So why arent we drinking it in ireland then?
@Shedi1210 we are. Its in any Supervalue in the country.

“The Constant, Flow, of Semen.”
Those words in that tone of passion and accent was some good shit 😂
And with a straight face too lmao
Bukkake party
His supple Galwegian accent
@@SeanSMST Lives in Galway but def not a Galwegian accent... Navan man.
@@disraelite1 Ah yeah cause nobody's accent changes where they now reside. Not like as a dubliner for decades my accent changed to fit where I live in connacht. Also if you're gonna be pedantic, he was born in Donegal. He's a donegal man 🤓
Bill; you and Tommy should do a regular podcast. The forward and back, having have one side with their view, and Tommy making a clarification of your thoughts would be just great,.
Two very contrasting people. Bill Burr a comic genius and Tommy Tiernan a complete gobshite who somehow thinks he has a deep knowledge of the human condition. He's from Meath and pretends he's West of Ireland which he ain't by a long way. Just like that other tool Hector.
This is the double act I didn’t know I needed.
Bill and Tommy who I have listened to for 20 years. Then here they are together. A mistical gift for us mortals. This podcast was singularly the most interesting intense podcast I have ever listened to. And they were creatively buzzing.
Tommy you must have Bill back to your shed emporium for Castro cigars. Bill get your ass over to misty Ireland.
Bill getting to meet the best storyteller in the world
No, billy connolly is the best story teller in the world
Love the podcast!
The punch line comes when Bill tries to explain the flight of the Earls to someone a few years from now.😂
My 2 favourite comedians ever, unexpected joy seeing this.
'Oh man that'd be great, come down to the shed with me. From Raúl's personal stash!' What a line. I kinda forgot those two might have known each other from back in the day. That was a great hour of entertainment that I didn't want to end.
Ol Billy fancy britches with your polo shirt 🤣🤣. Look like you're about to go down to country club and look for some new golfing shoes. 😂
Nice to see Tommy interview Bill Burr.
It was great watching Tommy interview Bill here
Tommy Tiernan is an inspired choice as a guest. Thank you very much, Mr Burr 🙏
Two great lads 🥇
Tommy starting out by interviewing Bill is EXACTLY what I expect from a fellow Irish man. Tommy’s a true legend 🇮🇪
This is my first time watching Bill's podcast...
I thought the two guys were amazing, batting of each other.
Spunk everywhere....
Well done lads.
Great stuff..
This is one of the best conversations. The anger of bill mixed with the whimsical silly of Tommy is masterful.
Diego Tiernan. You just know this is gonna be good 💚💚🇮🇪😂 Tommy's such a brilliantly descriptive comedian 🎉🎉
Tommy and Bill were a gas combination. I would never have thought. Loved it👏🏻
Tommy Tiernan Live was the first stand up I've ever seen
2 of my favourite comedians 💚🇮🇪
Irish people being described as white Mexicans is an amazing comparison, there really are some great similarities between the two peoples
