Thanks! 😁 There is a flight plan system of sorts. You can also plan externally and import a flight plan. Or did you mean create waypoints in the aircraft?
This might be redundant but check out PMS50
@@cgaviator i mean add/change waypoints while in flight. Flying a normal route on vatsim in this is quite difficult currently because after loading in you can’t change Sid, star or approach. Quite annoying.
@@aruhtaz you mean using it through the toolbar and changing route that way? I’ll have to try, seems like an idea.
@@Lasssse ah yes, though unless it’s RNAV specific you could always fly it old school! 😅
Do you use default weather?
Usually one of the sofly weather presets maybe adjusted to suit requirements 👍🏻
Where do you find the carrier in msfs or is it a mod/add- on?
This is a Miltech carrier. There are lots available through an online search 👍🏻
@@cgaviator Thanks
what's the stable hover absolute ceiling on the F35B ?
There is one, but I’ve never explored it, nor do I know what the real limit would be. Though I previously hovered above the Burj Khalifa but that was before they updated the model.
Could you complete a sortie with no instruments at all?
How do you mean? VFR or a flight with weather but instruments failed?
@@cgaviator just left with stick and throttle no instruments,no airspeed indicator, no artificial horizon
@@alripal9665 through significant cloud, not possible without instruments. If they suffered a display failure they may be able to use an iPad with gps for ground speed reference.
And it depends on the definition of completing a sortie. They may be able to fly about but they wouldn’t be mission effective at all 👍🏻
@@cgaviator thanks for your reply,it just seems to me that you're overly dependant on instruments
Is it possible to land on top of skyscrapers in MSFS?
not sure how you got from carrier landings to skyscrapers lol! some of them you can, by default i don't think so. Haven't tried in a while
What's ur pc specs and graphics settings on msfs?
Link in description 👍🏻
what mod do you use for the f35b?
Indiafoxtecho
@cgaviator sweet got any other cool mods and whats ur reshade profile?
@cgaviator hmm for some reason i thought this was dcs lol never theless i play msfs and this mod is sick
@@bigzary5550 SoFly weather preset and I think the Miltech arg for this video. I use nvidia filters and I’ll get around to sharing it one day! 😄 But try tint to 33 and strength at 20. Add contrast as desired 👍🏻
@@bigzary5550 just don’t buy it from marketplace or you won’t have weapons
like i havent understood anything... I mean... how on earth did you find that ship in the middle of nowhere -_- ( you will have a tough time for not getting lost, cause you can't )
good vid mate.
Thanks very much! Finding it always starts in the planning phase. Then it’s just luck! 😂
no vstol ols?
You have the standard OLS on a large carrier/CVN (the ball), you can have an OLS dedicated to VSTOL approach, and you have have HPI specific for hovering in the correct place alongside
Nav with GPS to a moving ship?
It’s not moving 😅
Which weather preset please?
Erm, I think I just took rain and increased the lower parameters to allow for suitable cloud deck and visibility.
When 360` vision?
Doubtful ever! Maybe if DCS have a proper F35 but info is so classified it would be a best guess
@@cgaviator secrit documents but still hope
Excellent video as usual Chris, I particularly appreciate you including the radio calls - helps with confidence for DCS multiplayer!
I have a question: as you were on approach, you were clearly doing a scan of your instruments and seeing what needed correcting. Can you talk about this, what you do, what you look at, what the flow is, etc., please? (Or, if you can remember, which video you explained it in?)
I’ll likely do another video about flying the needles (ILS). One of my first videos ever was flying the Hawk T1 on the ILS. And while it’s an analogue jet, I pause the video and talk about what I’m looking at. That video will give the fundamentals of a workcycle and why to check. Also the How to Land Any Jet video that I linked
To during the video will talk about some other aspects of staying on parameters.
where's the HPI??
I'll track it down when I try in the DCS version
The flight model looks ridiculously simplified like you are flying a UFO. Nicely done though.
Yup, it is sadly. And thanks 🙏🏻
If the f35 is fs2020 got functional radar, FLIR, and rdr cursor, this would be basically the military’s F-35 simulator. Now fs2020 isn’t the most realistic fcls wise, but it will get better…
Lol, I think there’s a longer list than that but it’s coming along nicely! 😅
that landing would have no doubt broke those wheels and landing gear.
The gear is designed to take a firm landing (unlike the recent ejection that happened at Dallas). VTOL aircraft aren’t landed like a helicopter, they’re firmly planted to avoid issues with ground effect and pitch/roll of the deck 👍🏻
real world procedures in msfs. what’s not to love❤. thankyou
i love the callsigns. you can tell that war was designed by macho men. No ‘TulipOne’ or ‘DaisyOne’ inbound. Its all stealth and daggers😂
😂 fair point, need to sound mean! And thanks for taking the time to comment 👍🏻
It's not realistic. It lacks the moment the plane fails and crashes either on the deck or in the ocean or the pilot passes out due to oxygen issues
Or bounces, then collapses…! 😅
@@cgaviator
True :D
Stick for up and down!? WTAF. Is the real aircraft is configured this way in VTOL mode? As a rotary wing pilot this is heresy.
Yes, it’s designed so the inputs are similar to forward flight. None of this funny business with the controls. It’s to keep it common between phases of flight. When I messed about in a real helicopter sim, I had a hell of a job telling my brain to put my throttle hand forward at landing rather than backwards! 😂
Amazing job. Sub and Like. F35Pilot here also
Thanks, appreciate it!
Fun fact, the F-35 definitely cannot fly in a lightning storm… just throwing that out there..
Lol, absolutely!
You should cage your hud.
Wasn’t sure how, but I usually prefer to have the fpm show we where I’m aiming
Not supposed to fly F-35s in lightening ...ironic being that it's named the Lightning II 🤣🤣
Lol, I won’t tell if you won’t! 😅
@@cgaviator your secret is safe with me! 🤣 Man I wish MS would do a combat sim...either that, or DCS up its game and get gfx like MSFS and mods like it has! The melding of those two would be insanely good!!
Procedures may have been "realistic" but the jet deff wasn't. Entertaining nonetheless
Yeah, best we got at the moment
"realism" "f35B" "msfs" yeah im not sure you can say realism there considering how the f35B that you're flying will be absolutely nothing like the real thing, yknow because its a brand new aircraft thats still in testing and production and service and is heavily classified. this is an estimation at best of what its like.
All true, though the realism suggested is for the procedure. But I agree, MSFS isn't well designed for highly complex military jets.
@@cgaviator I’m not necessarily talking about msfs I just mean in general this is no way to actually simulate the f35 as hardly any of it’s true details and spec are know.
