@@cgaviatorI was in the back of a 19 Sqn T1A. I was staying at Valley as a guest of the Valley Aviation Society having flown in from Dublin on one of our Dauphin helicopters (not my normal transport. CN-235 MPA being my main one) to take part in a charity event. I have the HUD tape somewhere and a digital copy but don’t know where. Such a pity as I was getting away with genuine aerobatics for half an hour 🤣. I’m convinced we flew The Loop on memory that day as the WX was terrible and we acted as the WX Ship. Well the lad up front was ex-Jag so I suppose he was reading the road signs 🤣. I always remember looking down at the G meter turning to Bala button see the reading for that turn but I didn’t realise it takes 20 seconds to complete and my grad stayed down and I watched the zip burst open 🤣. He really wrenched it around that turn having banked left first then randomly right and pull. It’s been a few years since I flew in a fast jet (ours retired in 1999) so I while I loved every second I was wrecked after especially wearing full winter garb .
@@blackfalco33 there are free options available but FST is good. It only does airline traffic but the serial is fantastic and the traffic isn’t random, it works based on real airline, airfield, destination information. I tend to use that but turn up the MSFS GA traffic to allow for more stuff.
Great video, just subscribed. I find that when the route steer is acting odd, lightly pulling(otherwise it fixes itself quite aggressively) the jet back towards your route and then lightly pulling it away again usually triggers the route steer to start tracking once it's about to tip the wing down.
This is great, really enjoyed that. I've a few questions. Re the Mach Loop. I've seen USAF F15's fly up the Loop the wrong way, so basically coming from Tywyn direction, over Tal y Llyn lake then turn right to Corris. Do they follow different rules to the RAF? Also where is Snake Lake roughly located if you were looking at it on a map?
F15s the wrong way!? Recently? Craziness! 😅 Perhaps they were lost! I wouldn’t know specifically where Snake Lake was close to other than what I mentioned and the route I flew in this video I’m afraid.
Where's the best place to go and watch in the Mach Loop, in real life? Often thought about heading over there in the hope of catching some of the Lakenheath lot :-)
CAD seems to be the most popular. At the north entrance to the Loop. You can pick east or west side depending on time of day. There’s a few pages online dedicated to it.
YEP! The altitude which reads as “R50” will initiate some strange fly by wire failure, I’ve found that if I’m as stable as possible by the time it says R50 with a good aoa it won’t be all that bad
@@cgaviator @jakeesco4573 You probably sorted this by now, but I only just got this plane yesterday and figuring it all out.... here is the reason: Below 50 FT AGL (R50: Radar Altimeter 50) the TRIM goes into (MAN) manual mode which disables the Auto Trim and Fly By Wire. Since version 1.3.4 (JUL-2024) you can switch this (from the PMD/DR page) to be either activated by Landing gear down OR when Below 50 FT AGL. (Source: F35 Manual, Section 12.4 FCS PAGE) Presumably? the FBW & Auto Trim is disabled during this time to give more authority to the pilot during a landing procedure?

Great video! One question, you use the term ‘check the dead wing’. I’m assuming that means visually checking the direction opposite the turn, upon rollout? Is that correct?
Is there a way for the plane to accept non-decimal GPS coordinates in hours/mins etc... Skyvector and other tools don't give it in that format and it's painful having to convert them all. also really curious how you feel this plane handles and turns compared to the default F-18 in MSFS

Hello, thanks for this tutorial, I think a good start to get familiaire with the F35, I have a question: after WP9 you make a left turn and after that , 30;40 min , you say “ I will make the aircraft safe “ , also I see in the HUD “ SAFE”, what does it mean ?
I can’t give you the specific F35 answer but on my previous types making safe prevents you from being able to release any weapons. Usually live/armed from takeoff until touchdown but then I’m not sure how the jettison system works in the F35. Hope that helps
Got one you’re trying to get rid of!? 😅Got a rift, waiting on a Quest 3 when they come out. Trouble is I’d probably need a 4090 to get near the quality I’m used to, and it’s a lot harder to produce videos etc.
@@RobertGeez interesting, I’ll take another look. Of course then I would have to figure out recording, screenshot, external app visibility. Recording takes a lot of processing power but I should really give it some more attention. Thanks 👍🏻

So I’m not the only one with route hold not working properly on the F35. I find that when I’m too far off the route it will not navigate towards it, unlike in other aircraft I’ve flown in MSFS…
I think with updates soon the carriers will have a navaid associated with them. If I was planning to fly a mission and recover to a mobile carrier I would set a waypoint in the world map where they start and it won’t be too far off when you come to find them

First time exiting The Loop towards Bala IRL my g-suit zip burst 🤣🤣🤣.
😂 what vehicle were you operating!?
@@Machlooper nice! weather ships were always interesting! I got the the stage where recognised most places in the UK at 250ft! 🤗
@@cgaviatorsorry for above autocorrect errors . I reckon everyone has a universal translator at this stage 🤣🤣🤣
great video :) really great thanks a lot from other side of the word
Glad to hear it! 😁
Good one CG! :D May I ask you : Are you using any application or software for implementing traffic into the simulator? :)
I usually have it switched off when recording videos. But even then, Just Flight FS Traffic is still enabled.
@@cgaviator Oh, does Fs traffici inject random traffic into the sim? I'm looking for a software that does that 😄
@@blackfalco33 there are free options available but FST is good. It only does airline traffic but the serial is fantastic and the traffic isn’t random, it works based on real airline, airfield, destination information. I tend to use that but turn up the MSFS GA traffic to allow for more stuff.
@@cgaviator Thank you very much for your assistance as always! 💪🏻
Nice video👏👍
Thanks, appreciate it 👍🏻
Great!
Does this mean that the F-35 cockpit-details/ avionics / sytems are completely public, now? Or is this a qualified guess at how it works?….
There’s a lot of open source info, images of cockpit and display layout. The sub systems are clearly going to be a guess.
Hi Chris, the graphics are excellent in your video. Do you mind listing your setting and are you using IR Head/Eye tracker? Thank you
TrackIR and most settings at hi. There’s an Nvidia filter on it in game so it makes it more blue and less red. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Hi Chris yes that helps thank you. Steve
Uno de estos necesitamos en DCS, me da igual que no sea real al 100% pero es una pasada, tendria que haber un MFS2024!!
Great video, just subscribed. I find that when the route steer is acting odd, lightly pulling(otherwise it fixes itself quite aggressively) the jet back towards your route and then lightly pulling it away again usually triggers the route steer to start tracking once it's about to tip the wing down.
Thanks, good tip. I did find that in another aircraft just yesterday, very strange. I hope they fix it!
Hallo. Super Video. Kannst Du mir helfen, wie macht man den Piloten im Cockpit in der Innenansicht sichtbar?. So wie auf Deinem Introbild. Danke
Think it’s the air vent in front of seat. Check manual 👍🏻
Superb.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Llyn Clywedog
@@williamstrachan Thank you!
@@cgaviator 👍 thanks mate. Great content!
@@tomjxn my pleasure
I have 1300 hrs in the MSFS F-35. I applied to the Air Force, but they won't hire me. How many hours do I need?
YEP! The altitude which reads as “R50” will initiate some strange fly by wire failure, I’ve found that if I’m as stable as possible by the time it says R50 with a good aoa it won’t be all that bad
Not just me then! 😅
@@cgaviator @jakeesco4573
You probably sorted this by now, but I only just got this plane yesterday and figuring it all out.... here is the reason:
Below 50 FT AGL (R50: Radar Altimeter 50) the TRIM goes into (MAN) manual mode which disables the Auto Trim and Fly By Wire. Since version 1.3.4 (JUL-2024) you can switch this (from the PMD/DR page) to be either activated by Landing gear down OR when Below 50 FT AGL.
(Source: F35 Manual, Section 12.4 FCS PAGE)
Presumably? the FBW & Auto Trim is disabled during this time to give more authority to the pilot during a landing procedure?
It would be great if they added a visor tint - presumably pilot can see when it’s glaring because it is projected onto the visor behind the tint?
Good idea!
@@cgaviator thanks! I just bought the module a few days ago - and it does get annoying 😂
@@cgaviator if you set it so the full pilot is in and slayed back with your trackIR you can actually see through the pilots visor and the difference is notable - can you have a word with IFT? 😂😂
Great video! One question, you use the term ‘check the dead wing’. I’m assuming that means visually checking the direction opposite the turn, upon rollout? Is that correct?
You are indeed correct!
New to the channel. Do you guys use Night Vision goggles for nightime ops? I am assuming the answer is yes. Would love to know.
The F35 has a projected night vision on the helmet visor I believe. I used to use NVGs in the Tornado
@@cgaviator thanks
Hi buddy, are you still in the RAF, if not what are you doing now?
Now that would be telling! 😅
@@cgaviator lolz, fair enough. Loving your videos by the way. :-)
@@thefuzz1172 thanks 🙏🏻
Is there a way for the plane to accept non-decimal GPS coordinates in hours/mins etc... Skyvector and other tools don't give it in that format and it's painful having to convert them all. also really curious how you feel this plane handles and turns compared to the default F-18 in MSFS
Wished you turned for Betws y coed and stayed low level through ogwen valley 😅😅😅
I’ve done that in other videos. Wanted to buy myself some time to intercept the tacan
We need a mod like this in DCS
Agreed
Gotta land this one at high speed .
Is there an HMCS ? 🪖🧐
Yes, but only very very basic
@@cgaviator cool!
Hi Chris another great video thank you. I have tried this flight but I am having trouble displaying the map.I go to tsd 1 but in My plane the Map option is greyed out and not clickable. Any Ideas? Many thanks
Yes, have you updated the model to at least 1.2?
How close is MSFS to real world? Do you use a VR headset for this?
Very! Landscape very well recreated. Flight dynamics are a bit off. TrackIR is what I use
My method is crude, usually from EGHL to valley in a straight line (well almost ) at treetop height and following as many contours as I can manage usually at 450 knots.I have the Tobii tracker but I don't use the eye tracking as this can become an iritation very quickly, head tracking is ok.....................................................................
Never heard of Lasham, your local field?
Hello, thanks for this tutorial, I think a good start to get familiaire with the F35, I have a question: after WP9 you make a left turn and after that , 30;40 min , you say “ I will make the aircraft safe “ , also I see in the HUD “ SAFE”, what does it mean ?
I can’t give you the specific F35 answer but on my previous types making safe prevents you from being able to release any weapons. Usually live/armed from takeoff until touchdown but then I’m not sure how the jettison system works in the F35. Hope that helps
You need a HP reverb G2 my friend.
Got one you’re trying to get rid of!? 😅Got a rift, waiting on a Quest 3 when they come out. Trouble is I’d probably need a 4090 to get near the quality I’m used to, and it’s a lot harder to produce videos etc.
@@cgaviator Openxr toolkit with FOVeat rendering is all you need. I have a 3090 with mostly max settings with 45 - 50 FPS.
@@RobertGeez interesting, I’ll take another look. Of course then I would have to figure out recording, screenshot, external app visibility. Recording takes a lot of processing power but I should really give it some more attention. Thanks 👍🏻
@@cgaviator Sorry, I think for your TH-cam channel pancake mode makes more sense, especially with respect to the additional burden placed on your system.
@@RobertGeez no apology, I like your software suggestions. Maybe I’ll do some VR videos as a test run. Good to keep on top of the newer tech 👍🏻
how close is this to the real aircraft? It seems the software is classified because you never see any F35 cockpit videos where you can see the display
@@bobl78 there are some images out there. Clearly the depth of the systems in the sim will be different. But it looks the same
So I’m not the only one with route hold not working properly on the F35. I find that when I’m too far off the route it will not navigate towards it, unlike in other aircraft I’ve flown in MSFS…
I usually start with heading hold on an intercept then route.
Can you fly over Llyn Alaw one day (8 miles NNE of Valley), I'll give you a wave.
Lol, next time I’m ‘that way!’ 👍🏻
For me its finding the aircraft carries its hard as they dont showw up as waypoints?
I think with updates soon the carriers will have a navaid associated with them. If I was planning to fly a mission and recover to a mobile carrier I would set a waypoint in the world map where they start and it won’t be too far off when you come to find them
Bring it to DCS :D
supersonic over populated area at FL140 ?
Absolutely! 😁
If you had to pick one, which one would you buy: CJ EF Typhoon or the F-35?
F35 easy! For the 3 models and lots of neat added features.
Hello sir is the a way to set a waypoint or something in the f35 ingame?
Not yet that I know of
any suggestions on a budget joystick?
Absolutely… Logitech Extreme 3D Pro!
HOW DO YOU GET THE CLOUDS IN THE DISTANCE NOT TO BE WASHED OUT IN WHITE COMPLETELY>?????
I use Nvidia filters to dial down the exposure, bloom etc.
@@cgaviator thanks I’ll look into it!
What graphics card do you have
Specs at link in description. But it’s a 3070
Only problem. 11 Sqn are Typhoon. My OCD is going
