hi its me again just reminding you are handsome handsome boy man. also do a video on the 10 first ps2 games ever released (in any country) as of release date
@@Ashitaka0815 I sadly never played that one. I was still a child and was only able to play the first 3 games. The 4th stopped me when the first encounter (a bat) was flying around at Mach speeds so I couldn't kill it
@@XannolcZ High time to revisit. They still hold up and being able to bring your character along from the first to the last game (potentially getting yourself the secret class) is still a brilliant feature. The whole series is on GOG as a pack and frequently goes on sale. It's on sale right now as I type this for single-digit dollars. Though I would recommend the free fan-made version of Quest for Glory 2. Gives it the modern VGA SCI look and feel and still supports the save carryover.
I was kinda sad, 'cause I went out and got a copy of Champions of Norrath like 3 years ago and tried to play with my friend but he wouldn't play more than an hour. I guess I liked the game more than he did. We used to play it a lot.
These games aren't stuck, they are just on the proper console. Games like "The Suffering" just shine so much on ps2 because its crazy these games worked as well as they did on the ps2, and are the influence of so many games even today. 💯
I remember picking up Robot Alchemic Drive for 12 bucks at a Gamestop on a random Saturday afternoon back in the early 2000's. I went home that day and was locked in the room for 2 days playing that game. The voice acting is hilariously awful, the story is stupid but the gameplay is unique, addictive and once you learn the controls it feels so good and as if you're really controlling a mech. All these elements combined ended up making it one of my favorite games ever.
I'd avoid making a video on Abandonware locations or sites; there have been videos pop up about other sites (e.g. CDRomance) that brought attention to them and only after being highlighted on TH-cam have they had to cease operations or change names to avoid the wrath of Copyright holders (more likely copyright trolls, but basically the same legal threat).
@@Lonewolf_121 A lot of games on that site are abandonware, hacks, fan-translations and prototypes that are either fan made or never got released so it's more like a grey area instead of outright piracy.

The thing about that Onimusha remaster they released on Steam selling poorly is that I wasn't interested unless all games were available. I didn't bother to invest time and money on a single game on one platform when I either would have had to invest time and money on a different platform (now harder to come by) or turn to emulation for the rest of the games in the series. Also they completely replaced the original superior soundtrack with a new one, due to controversy around the composer instead of just chaning the credits in the remaster to the real composer which weren't credited in the original. I stick to the PS2 versions where I can get the complete set and with better soundtrack for the first game thank you.
Robot Alchemic Drive - There's an almost identical game on the PS1 called Remote Control Dandy. You control a human, controlling a giant robot to fight other giant robots. It was a Japanese exclusive, but it did get a fan translation a couple years ago. Pretty sure it was developed by some of the same people.
I bought Champions and it worked after cleaning it 3 times then it didnt. So I bought a super clean copy but that didn't work either. Champions and SpongeBob were the 2 out 25 games that just wouldn't run. (I'll have to retry someday, since I also had difficulty with a DVD playing but eventually it worked.)
If we do a sequel vid on this topic, I'm nominating: Urban Reign Shadow Of Rome The Bouncer Ape Escape 3 You and Will can have Ghosthunter and Gregory Horror Show in there too. As a treat.
You are officially my third most favorite welshman after Ryan Giggs and Gareth Bale, Great video and i gotta say, As much as i love the Siren series i can see why it failed, The PS2 ones were frustratingly hard and there’s so many things you can mess up if you don’t pick certain things and what not, The atmosphere in the PS2 games are unmatched as far as horror games go i gotta say, Just a tad bit too difficult.
This list just reminds me that I miss the days I could dig through discount PS2 game bins and hear rumors or hear say about games that were fpund in a similar way or seen as an ad in a manga and you buy them just to see how unique the games can be. Now if I google hidden gems on the PS2 I either find all the same stuff, or things like this, but either way not the same feeling and exploration of finding them out in the wild like little tresures
'Rogue Galaxy' is another gem by Level V that has been lost to PS2 Purgatory. And yes, 'Soul Caliber 3' desperately needs a modern rerelease. It's the best game in the franchise and I will die on this hill.
I just hope when they do Onimusha Dawn of Dreams that they do the japanese version for its better balancing and mode selection. The english version was artificially made harder, its modes removed, made grinding take longer, defense upgrades were made useless and didn’t even classically start the player with a basic healing item to combat rentals.
@@CulturedVultures I certainly will! I'm a big fan of Kya and even for all its rough spots, i hope you find it a fun time. So many cool things that work together quite well.
"You only live once though " staring at a $100 dollar price tag is how I paid out the butt for someone to ship a original copy of Pokemon Black Complete in Box off ebay. The game itself was okay price but sheesh shipping is ugly if you dont notice it before offering to buy it after bids shut down or there is a buy now outright button and you are locked in lol . Highly underrated if you have the time, because some of the scenarios can take a long time to win. I love the mixture of turned based strategy and quasi-real time combat.
Know what game I want but cant seem to get? Ace Combat 6. It was only released on 360 and I tried emulating it and it ran like crap on Xenia. I feel like Im gonna have to buy a whole ass 360 just to play it. I really want another Strangereal alternate reality cheesy anime story about fighter jets.
Norath and dark alliance were mid af, the only reason they get any hype is because of the graphics and platform they were on. They are very basic and mediocre ARPGs.
Listen, I just really like the PS2 right now. Also, if an Onimusha collection gets announced at the Capcom stream on Tuesday, dibs some of the credit!
What's Capcok?

Noice haha I am going after some of the GBA greats I missed or sold or traded because I was a poor dumb kid. lul happens don't it
The PS2 is just THAT ONE console, 25 years later we're still talking about it and playing on it
onimmusha 3 is super under rated. its the peak of the series!
Congrats on summoning the Onimusha 2 remaster
This is why emulation is such a gift, especially on PS2.
An Abandonware video would be awesome!
Abandonware sounds like a great idea. The games highest on my must-play list are the older ones. I still can't get enough of Quest For Glory
That was (is?!) my favorite PC game from that era, Shadows of darkness especially with the overdone sub just oozes that 90s adventure style, love it 💕

This is why it's worth keeping a working PS2 around. There are so many fantastic games only here and most of them are dirt cheap.
The things I would do for a Fatal Frame 1 - 2 - 3 collection.
We need Champions remastered/upscaled! or a Champions 3!!! great call on that!
