I have seen the girls, also with The Black Sorrows and they were brilliant. I have also seen Rockwiz live and saw them on that show (it is a TV production but they toured Australia. It is a music quiz show, but they have musical guests who perform with their house band, and Vika and Linda are the back up vocalists). Vika and Linda put on free concerts at home during Covid. They are sisters. Linda is on a TV show called Fisk on ABC.

But your last 2 comments weren't there .. It said there were 39 comments in the thread .. So I used your sorting by Newest method, and all our comments were there, including your last 2 .. It said there was 41 comments in the thread .. So however you manged to get those 2 comments on YT, they are only findable using your sorting method .. Weird stuff !

I appreciate your observations on Australian music and your theory of it taking and borrowing to create this musical hybrid scene, but I have to pull you up on that... Look.. I lived and breathed the Aussie pub scene and it was its own animal. Joe Camilleri and his mates (Linda and Vika included) are not the best representation of Australian music. He and his bunch are eclectic by nature. Australia had its own brand of rock.. we called it Oz rock or pub rock and it had a grit, angst and power that came from the PUBS and was heard through AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Rose Tattoo, The Angels, Cold Chisel, Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, Lobby Loydd And The Coloured Balls, Stevie Wright, Divinyls, Choirboys, et cetera. Even Icehouse and INXS came from those pubs, which is why they played with more edge than their overseas contemporaries. INXS came from the Midnight Oil and Cold Chisel camp in Sydney. Yes, inspiration is naturally going to be drawn from America and Britain, much the same way Britain were drawing inspiration from American rock 'n' roll and blues, and much the same way American rock was being reinvigorated by the British invasion. The mix and match of Australian music is only partially true, but being in the middle of it and seeing 100's of US and UK bands at the same time, Australia was producing its own brand of music in the 70's and 80's. Don't get Joe Camilleri mixed up with Australian music. He's the guy that mixes and matches, but Midnight Oil or Cold Chisel or Divinyls were not mixing and matching and taking all the elements from the US and UK and making their own weird derivative hybrid... The Angels, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel and AC/DC (at least before 1980) could NOT come from any other country, because our pubs and culture were NOT like any other. Even our pop show COUNTDOWN was not like any other... US and UK kids wouldn't be allowed to act like Countdown kids.
It's one out of many styles they tried out. You might like ''Better Times'' or maybe ''The Crack Up''.
