Interesting! Your RBS's are fixed to the mast at the spreaders while the boats in familiar with have their RBS's fixed at the mast head. That explains my confusion!

My RBS are on a traveller. How do you know where to position the RBS on the traveller???? I think your demonstration with the plastic stick is really good but your video I think should start with an overview of what RBS purpose i.e. Running backstays support the headstay in a fractionally rigged boat. A masthead rig has the advantage of not needing them. A running backstay runs from each lateral corner of the stern to the mast at the level where the forestay begins in the fractional rig. Together with other rigging, it supports the mast. Because they are attached low on the mast, they can present a significant problem in an accidental gybe, as the boom hits the stay, with the possibility of breaking the boom, mast, or both.

The black line with those many blocks secures the RBS in its stowed position: vertically straight down to near shroud base plates , out of the way of all other rigging (standing and running). When needed, the windward RBS only is released and secured diagonally from the mast to as far aft as possible, to reduce/prevent mast pumping in strong conditions.
