    Patience is a virtue!! You certainly have Louise!! Great job ! Beautiful painting...I have it's sister🤣 not kidding, just not on a Lazy Susan, I must have sold it because I can't find it 😘 I've been looking for it since you did it the other day💭BTW I'm surprised all the Susan's in the world have never complained about being called Lazy all these years🤣🤣🤣🤣 OMG what's wrong with me, I just can't pass one by😘😘😘 Hugs!!! I should have been doing stand up instead of painting!

      Oh my God, Donna, 💕have I’ve ever told you you’re very funny, lol. It’s really funny because my roommate from West Point. Her name is Suzanne, and she has purchased one of my Lazy Susan’s. When she wrote to me, she said I’d like one of those lazy Suzanne’s. It cracked me up. I have a feeling the Lazy Susan name came from somebody name Susan, who was tired of having to serve people all around the table, and instead, came up with a spinner to save herself all the effort. So instead of Lazy Susan, it should be called brilliant Susan! And by the way, my patience is only been developing since painting, before that, I have no patience for anything.

    You do have the patience of a Saint. I stuck a butter knife through the palm of my hand once while cleaning wax out of a glass holder. There's no way I would use a chisel😂. It turned out great, but I'll stick with heating it up. Thanks for sharing

    • @LouiseMcKayArt
      @LouiseMcKayArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Anita for your support, but you definitely want to heat it up no matter what, and that makes the chisels so much easier to use. It was actually quite simple, you just have to take it slow.

      Thanks Debbie 💕Necessity is the mother of invention. I even went online to see how other people do it and couldn’t find anything like this, so this is what I went with, and it works pretty good I say so myself. And I just thought having it taped would easily peel off like on my coasters, but it’s a different animal, for some reason on the Lazy Susan, or wood.

    Wow the final show is amazing Louise. I think it looks like a beautiful dragon. What kind of resin do you use? I wait 3 days before I attempt to get the backing off of my pieces. Nice job Louise!!

      Thanks, Jan!💕getting to the resin sooner is definitely better, easier to get thru. I use KS resin, it’s in the description link.

    Hi Louise. 2 questions. Do you have a video showing how you taped the lazy susan?. And where do you buy your lazy Susan's from? Gorgeous work.

    • @LouiseMcKayArt
      @LouiseMcKayArt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, Cathleen, yes, I have a video. It is video 312. It shows from taping all the preparation pouring resin and finish, it’s a very thorough video and if you like it, please share it if you can and get it out there, I’d really appreciate it lol I get my lazy Susans from IKEA

    I’m trying to tape my first lazy susan prepping. I feel like a first grader trying to tape a circle! Ugh. There has to be an easier way?

    • @LouiseMcKayArt
      @LouiseMcKayArt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry, I haven’t shared the taping part because it’s kind of mundane. But it is quite important. You may find it easier to cut off a piece of tape so you’re not dealing with the role itself and just snug it up against the edge and work your way around, lots of thumbs are used in this. And it takes a while to get used to doing it, but once you’ve done a few of them, you get better at it it doesn’t take that long after a while. I think now it takes me about two minutes to go all the way around. You definitely want to do it you especially do not want to get paint underneath.
