Odds ar on denathrias, he said he started it all in the end of the questline. He also is on an even level as the other rappresentatives, maybe even the arbiter.
Also at lest the important ppl in maldraxxus and Ravendreth got there while it already existed, then got powerfull ( like draka and vaash).
In ravendreath the first quest even says, that if you attone ur sins j can either go to an other zone or bexome a Venthyr!

Oh my god the comedic timing on the "it's insane" "it's not insane" holy shit, the same happened in Demon souls when he just said he would try to not die.
It's not Argus. If it was it will swirl with the other souls. The blast comes from an outside force. It looks like an anima blast. And the people who control red anima is The Venthr. So I believe it was Denatrius.
As for The winter queen. Eonar is her sister. The proof is in the reputation vendor that sell her legendary.
How did denathrias shut dosn the arbiter when hes been in ravendreth for aeons?
I think all the eternal ones are just dead titans or titans the first ones appointed to watch over the realm of kf the dead but argas was never meant to die.
i really think it is elune after watching nobbels vid on it, if you assume that the emerald dream already existed before the titans came, i dont think that its a coincididence that we get more elune lore in the same expansion

I mean, Illidan has gone through about 50 different retcons to make him the good guy, would it really be that surprising?
Retcons are sometimes necessary, Kael for example was a bad guy in TBC just because they ran out of ideas. As WoW goes on, they start to realise they cannot milk the player base w/o WC3 characters.

The Arbiter being shut down means that all the souls are by default going to the maw and we have confirmation that Drenathrius is behind the drought. The drought is caused by souls not going to other realms of death and going to the maw, so when Drenathrius says he was behind the drought and the drought is caused by the arbiter not directing souls to the different realms of death I can't possible see how people are thinking that Argue dying caused it. The only evidence we have is that Drenathrius is somehow behind the Arbiter shutting down.
All Venthyr magic is red too. I assumed the same thing but they do attack this theory.

I think the game can create systems that let you become kings and rule places and advance civilization, repopulate Azeroth with some small wars on the side, like a strategy game but in wow on a massive scale and world. WW3 big time?

Why do people assumed it's because of Argus that the Arbiter stop working? Isn't it Denathrius? It was specifically mentioned that he CAUSED the anima drought AND keeping anima reserve for Zovaal and it totally makes sense since the attack on Arbiter looks red since everything powered in Revendreth looks red.
Idk man. I guess they just really want legion to have something to do with the new content...

I find it amazing how no one realizes that it was clearly Sire Denathrius, the magic was red, and in the cutscene she says: "IN THAT DREAD MOMENT".

Prince Renethal also accuses Sire Denathrius of doing it and he even responds "The anima would have been wasted on the other covenants."
when i first saw the cinematic thats 100% what i thought since denthrius is responsible for everything else.
but i guess it could be argus since im assuming all the gods are created by the first ones( the pantheon of death, the pantheon of order, etc.) so maybe argus was sent to the shadowlands which wasnt supposed to happen effectively breaking it.
but the way blizzard does the lore, theyll probably try to tie it into other expansions especially since theyve laid careful groundwork about when in legion the machinery of death broke but for now ill still stick with the denathrius theory

Yeah it says mortals/living go to shadowlands. And titans are supposed to go to their own Order plane when they "die". But if Argus is the titan of death I guess he would go to the plane of Death? Idk seems a little weird lore wise

Mortal souls go to ardenweald because they served and were devoted to nature. They don't go through the rebirth cycle. That's only for wild gods/loa/demigods etc.etc.
The last WoW expansion I played was TBC. Somehow this was recommended to me and it took me 15 minutes to figure out you were all still talking about the same game I played.

The Winter Queens sister is Aeonar since she's the one who created the emerald dream and Ysera and Elune is canonically still listed as one of the only true gods of the universe. Which means Elune is a first one.
It’s 1000% what McConnell said at the end; Titans aren’t suppose to go to the Shadowlands when they die but I reckon when Aman’Thul used the last of Argus’ power to bind Sargeras, his soul went to the Shadowlands instead and fucked up the Arbiter, breaking the machinery of death.
To me, that all sounds fine and makes sense BUT it would be WAY too far fetched to say that this was planned out by someone 🤷🏼♂️
I think all titans go there when they die and thats how denathrias and winter queen etc got there to begin with. But argas was never meant to die. hes said before he existed between universal creation i think he said that to windrunner when she touched the void

This might be very minor, but parts of the Blizzard team takes inspiration from others when making stuff. During Legion, Unholy DKs had a talent called Dark Arbiter, which then went away in BfA. Probably nothing, but wouldnt suprise me if it was inspired by story elements told within the team.

So when 'Denathrius' somehow(via the bitch queen and the jailer) made Argus soul end up in shadowlands instead of the "titan place" it created "chaos in their order".
16:15 the shadowland Mccool, Frostmourne split Uther's soul in 2, 1 šart devoured by the blade, other went to the shadowlands. Cue Uther's Bastion cinematic.
Arthas gets defeated, Frostmourne broken and all souls set free from it, including 1st part of Uther's soul.
I thought Denuser said in an interview that a titan couldn't be killed except in the realm he came from, so Argus wouldn't technically die, just be ported back to the realm of order.

The lore is whatever sounds coolest at the moment.
They went through 3 separate revisions to their lore in the final patch of Legion alone.
1. If you kill demons in the twisting nether they are dead forever.
2. Argus is what actually brings demons back to life and killing him kills them forever.
3. Argus just speeds up them coming back to life.

The way I see it as The first ones created their own lil pocket worlds, divided the Shadowlands and made order thru The Arbiter to send the souls to each respective faction. 1 They will get anima or souls from planes as energy which leads me to believe they also created the Titans and probably not only these Azeroth's Titans but many Titans governing different planes and planets(Thru questing, there's a dialog saying Shadowlands recieve souls from many planets) 2. The Arbiter must be some kind of none sentient being just to select and classify souls 3. Denathrius is also working for the Jailer which makes me believe the jailer He's also an enternal one but, let's call it, aspect of death. Denathrius working for the jailer explains a lot of things.
They could make a Rextroy raid boss where the main ability is him stealing a random players ability from the raid and enhancing it massively.
Its N'zoth he planned it all along, ALL PLANNED.

Argus is a world spirit and a titan, what purpose would it have to be in Shadowland?
And Y’sera died in red form, spirit was lifted by the tentacles from a black moon, nobody sure that is Elune or maybe The Jailer in disguised.
Y’sera also appeared in Ardenweald, in a cocoon but still inflicted by the red corruption.
You can do the math from there.

Sargeras knew that the jailer was a threat and that he (the jailer) wanted Azeroths world soul as well as other world souls to fuel his ambitions. That was why he broke away from the pantheon and created the burning legion to have an army to rival that of the jailer.
Seriously? Argus is red at some point. The Arbiter gets hit by something red. So it must be Argus who hit the Arbiter. Wait, what?

How I see things : The Eternals and the Titans are children of the First Ones. When the Winter Queen referes to Ysera like her sister's pet, her sister is, in that case, Eonar. Ysera has been "made" by Eonar and Ysera has never mentioned Elune a single time in 15 years of WoW. Elune is one of the First Ones, the Jailer and the Arbiter too. You can notice that Tyrande is actually in the Shadowlands, but we don't see her in the campaign. I think, like Sylvanas choose the Jailer to be her covenant, Tyrande choose Elune. In the future of the expansion, Tyrande and Sylvanas will fight. And probably Elune and the Jailer. (And It's actually said in the game that Denathirus is responsable of what happened to the Arbiter. It's true It's not clear, but It's said nonetheless. Denathrius magic is red actually.)
But in the game the dipshits montioned that the jailor is their brother, he betrayed who the fck ever the lord of maldraxxus and the other 3 bound him in the maw, so he's below elune's lvl unless she's one of the titans or on the same lvl of the rest of those fuckers who can't do their job properly of serving the realms of death

Maybe the red energy was Il'gynoth, The shadow lands apparently had problems with being attacked by the void in the past and with that old gods city gone where was the soul supposed to go anyways?

Guldan Died Twice so it made the Arbiter go Blue Screen of Death windows break mode
In the beginning of the war between the First Titans and the Real of Death, Zovaal was the leader of the Shadowlands, and took care of the souls of the dead, the First Titans, when they attacked the Shadowlands to introduce order into it, they came in with 2 powerful beings, the leader of the Kyrians, the Archon, and Elune's daughter, and Eonar's sister, the Winter Queen, they stablished a military foot hold on the Shadowlands, through Bastion, that started the war against the realms of the Shadowlands, that being Maldraxxus, and Revendreth, led by Denathrius, and someone else. We know through a World Quest in Bastion, that Maldraxxus had attacked Bastion before, before we got in there doing quests and shit like that. The Procis, the guy from Maldraxxus, believed and supported the First Titan's idea of Order within the Shadowlands, so much so that through the civil war that took place in Maldraxxus, ended with him, organizing Maldraxxus into the 5 houses... He Organized Maldraxxus, he brought Order to Maldraxxus, and got on the first titans side of story.
Revendreth on the other side, with his dread lords, Denathrius knew that brute force directly right there wouldn't lead to victory, he sent his true people, the ones who are the same race as he is, not the Venthyr, but the Nathrezin, to infiltrate into the cosmic forces, and move the pieces into one day freeing Zovaal, and reclaiming what was his, exactly like he stated in the final cutscene of Revendreth.
The First Titans won the war, built Oribos, the eternal city, and built a construct of massive power called, the Arbiter, empowered by the heart of Zovaal, that was taken away from his chest, that gave control over the souls in the afterlife. Kinda like the infinity stones and the Glove from Thanos.
The first titans had the Heart of Zovaal, they just needed a way to use it's powers, that being the Arbiter.
Also it's interesting to notice, that the Anima that the Jailer controls, isn't blue, like the runes from frostmourne, and the runes on Zovaal himself, he controls white and black anima, the ones who use a blue anima is both Oribos, and Bastion, so Titan Anima, as well as Titan Power, as seen in Ulduar, the Pantheon in the Argus Battle, and many other examples. The runes that bind Zovaal to the Maw, imprisoning him there, are not his own, he was trapped in there, through Titan Runes, we even see in many titan constructions, that the runes of the Jailer, and the Lich King, match a lot with the runes of the titans.
Zovaal isn't the enemy, we shouldn't fight him, we should embrace him, Illgynoth even warned us:
"Embrace death... Do not fight it"
Of course, death and void, and pretty hard to be seen as the good guys, unlike the bright light beings like the titans and the light, this misconception that light is good, was also warned to us by Illgynoth:
"It's surface blazes bright, masking shadows below."
Observations:
I forgot to complete the thought on Revendreth side of the war. I believe Denathrius after sending his people on this spy mission, pretended to be sided with the First Titans, to make sure he wouldn't lose control over Revendreth.
It would explain why Denathrius doesn't care about his "people" and why he is stealing so much Anima, leaving the people of the Shadowlands to dry, Bastion and Ardenweald were never his friends, Maldraxxus under the leadership of the Procis wasn't his ally anymore, and his actual people, weren't there, the Venthyr aren't part of his own, thus he doesn't care about them starving.
Devs confirmed Titans can't and don't go to the Shadowlands.

Why do wester writters insist of endlessly creating new pantheons one on top of eachother. The First Ones being the Titans would make sense and fit nicely.
It's literally said in the game that Denathrius is responsible of the shortage of anima in the Shadowlands. There is a shortage of anima in the shadowlands because the Arbiter is KO. The arbiter is KO because she got hit by something red. What is the color of Denathrius magic : Red. End.

Theory: I think that the other half of Uther's soul was corrupted by the jailer when it was held within frostmourne, while the other half that represented who he was sent to the shadowlands. When frostmourne was shattered the corrupted half was reunited with the other half of his soul in the shadowlands and caused his judgment to become conflicted which is why he looked so troubles when he threw Arthas into the maw and called it justice.
holy shit mccool is on point. i've been wondering where the FUCK the other half of Frostmourne went. You don't see it on the ground when you kill LK in ICC - after tirion breaks it in half.
I think Denatrius told his Dreadlords to make a ritual and summon Euron Greyjoy from S8E4 of Game of thrones to 360-no-scope the Arbiter, he's just that good in that one episode :D

My theory: The Arbiter is the actual villain that was making the demons resurrect in Argus, the Arbiter did this because otherwise sargeras who had control over "her"would destroy her if she did not. After the heroes defeated the demons in Argus, Sargeras realized that the Arbiter had betrayed him so he decided to "kill"her anyway.
The Jailor is working with Sylvannas to overthrow and destroy the whole works of the maw, remaking it with him as the new Master of the maw. But the Jailor will betray Sylvannas and will use his newly obtained power to take revenge on his former brothers and enslave them, and instead of destroying the current maw he would try to rule over it as it is... leeching all the anima from the whole universe and accomplish his plan to take over once and for all.
Sylvannas will sacrifice herself to mend her errors somehow and the end of the expansion will be similar to Legion, only instead of losing Illidan we lose Sylvannas.

Just a few notes about Lore that I've sort of mulled over:
There are no indications that the Eternal Ones or the Titans could "remake" reality. Simply freeing the Jailer would not be sufficient.
Khadgar indicated in his lore that Elune shaped the Naaru when she sorted Light and Shadow into the cosmos.
I believe that Elune created the universe in a sort of balance, with the various forces warring with one another to maintain a neverending cycle that keeps the universe existing on a larger scale the right way. She cares little for most worlds or races because they are individually a blip in the cosmic order. Only when there is some sort of imbalance does she intervene, and create a "Night Warrior" to restore balance.
The Jailer had Sylvanas torch the Tree because he needed Tyrande to follow her to the Shadowlands.
So far, through our machinations, we have destroyed the power of the Legion and imbalanced the Twisting Nether and the forces of Chaos, locked away that Titans and disrupted the role of Order.
What the Jailer seeks isn't any of these things, but the power of Elune. But in order to draw Elune out enough to truly "Manifest" in the universe at all, he must throw the various opposing forces out of alignment. Note that the realm of Life and Ysera are closely tied, and now she exists in the Shadowlands. The Jailer has Tyrande, the Night Warrior, as well as arguably the champion of the light, or at least a conduit powerful enough to use as a weapon against it, in Anduin. And there is a quest chain that involves the void invading Bastion once before, so we have already seen some proof of their presence.
I believe Elune is the True Deity, who existed before this universe, possibly from a previous one, and shaped the light and shadow into all the forces of the cosmos. She created the First Ones to oversee the cosmic realms, and the Naaru and Titans to oversee Reality. The Jailer is and has been attempting to screw with her realms through various pawns in order to break things to the point where either the First Ones or Elune herself must come and fix things. This is where the soul of Azeroth comes into play. There is SOMETHING about her soul that is special. It's possible that she is a universal pivot or keystone that is used to anchor all the bits of reality, or even a portion of Elune required to "power" the whole setup, which is why she takes a special interest in the world, but also why all the other powers seem to bleed into or obsess over it. If he can reap the soul of Azeroth, he can use Elunes own power against her, and supplant her. WIth Elune's power, he can remake reality with ease.
About the Winter Queen;
She's the Death aspect of nature, and Elune is the Life aspect of nature. So that'd mean they'd be sort of sisters. The queen literally says "she is of my sister.." following the cutscene of elune taking ysera's spirit.

Could it be Uther thought? What if when the LK was killed and the souls released from Frostmourne the split part of Uther soul entered the SL to the arbiter again caused the arbiter to shut down since there should of only been one soul.
Mconnel is right tho. Uther was split in half before ICC. Then he was in SL when we kill arthas in ICC uther comes to Azeroth to take revenge. But it doesn’t show anything about his 2nd soul merging...what if it’s in the maw? What if frost mourn was a portal to the maw?

if Argus was the titan of death and titans are beings of order, but he was corrupted by the fel them when he died would his soul even know where to go. Corrupted by fel so his soul goes to the Chaos Fel Realm (twisted nether) but here a being of order so he goes to the Realm of Order. The only constant is his connection to death and the shadow realm so his soul has a stronger pull to death as he's dead and is power is death and the Order and Fel (Chaos) cancelled each other out. Just my thoughts on it, when this Argus theory goes against what blizzard has said about where titan soul go when they die.
It could be Ysera, Lady Moonberry said she arrived JUST BEORE the draught, so her corruption, that energy "corrupted" the Arbiter. Its in a cinematic, so its significant.
It is stated that Sargeras imbued his sword with a portion of Argus's Soul/Power (that's why it irradiates red black energy) and anchored it to Azeroth, therefore causing it to flow to the shadowlands.
I pondered on the whole Uther being split part and something rung in my head. What if it’s not souls in Frostmourne but it’s people consciousness. I know this is flawed logic but I feel the new lore on Uther is flawed in logic too.
Anyways, so what if someone’s living being is more than a mortal body and a soul? Perhaps a 3rd piece that defines the essences of a being of someone.

Frostmourne could take their minds and the Lich King could use the sword to consult the minds that are in the blade against their will. It would give him insider information on forces against him and can use this info to prepare counter tactics.
I don't think that's how it works... Cuz arthas could talk with his father through the sword. And there isn't confirmation that when someone is killed with frostmourne that everyone's soul is split in half. It could have just been uther in a desperate moment using the light to try and save him, which is probably why the part that went up was golden yellow.

Ever thought about if sylvanas might be fighting for the right side? if you are a farmer that died in classic here are your options for the afterlife: Revendreth - torture for anima, Bastion - Erased memory and joining their cult, The maw - just suffering, Ardenweld - doing furry stuff or maldraxxus - shit dont look to nice there either. Maybe it is time to and i quote "break the system"?
I think it's safe to say that the lore has gotten a bit too grandiose, especially if two grown men with high intelligence who have dedicated almost 2 decades of their lives playing the game on a full-time basis have a hard time grasping what happened so far. Things have gotten a bit.. perplexing to say the least.
