mate, I'm trying to rebuild an XV700 relais is the same, can't figure where the small white blue connector is wired to, I'm guessing to starter but can't seem to find it care to help?

My 84 xv 700 has a ticking sound down in the same area but sounds like a machine gun but a bit slower. Starts fast then starts ticking about one or two each second. The lights on the dash area all flicker with it to
I’m hoping so cause if it’s the starter then I’ll be mad. That thing is such a pain to get back in. Have to take the entire left engine cover off and drain the oil. The relay is easier to get to and so cheap on Amazon to buy

Yep that's the relay breaking down I would bet
