- Magnetic susceptibility is a measure of how readily materials tend to get magnetized. Diamagnets have a small negative susceptibility while paramagnets have a small positive susceptibility. Ferromagnets have a large susceptibility.
Relative permeability is a measure of how readily materials allow the field lines to pass through them, compared to vacuum.

my dad showed me something about magnets that i have never herd talked about or explained. If you have a screwdriver that accidentally gets magnetized to de-magnetize it he would throw it down on the garage floor cement hard tip first we would pick it up and test it and it was no longer magnetized. before anyone tells me it doesn't work. Just to make sure i did it two times last week to show a friend. It Works
That is the definition of ferromagnetic. This channel has a video on it. Ferromagnetic magnets are only magnetized for a short period of time.
